Stella; 11 Month old (doodlebug) Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She lives at home with her brothers (our sons) her mom (my wife), dad (me) and great grandmother (wife's grandmom).
Hi Scarecrow! So I'm totally confused, but I know Stella is beautiful and she reminds me of my red and white corgi, Lucy. Lucy's 4 and only 20 lbs. Stella has some sable on her forehead, above her eyes, like my goofy tri puppy Rafa. You seem to have a RaF & Maria listed. Maybe you have a Rafa, too, in your family. So what's this about a "trial" period? btw, I like your call name, Scarecrow.
But you don't scare me, haha!
PS My corgi, Rookie, was red and white with sable over his eyes. He was so beautiful. Oh how I loved that boy. I posted his photo on the Corgis remembered group. What a dog. Loved to swim!
Your Stella is so pretty. Hope you pass your trial!!!
Hi there! Glad you got past the "trial" stage. So you're a Raf too. How funny! I named Rafa for Rafa Nadal, the tennis player. No, Rafa is not from the same breeder as Lucy. We had to fly up to Oakland and rent a car to get Lucy. She had an amazing pedigree, all champions, including both parents. We rescued Rafa and have no papers for him. Lucy hated Rafa when we brought him home. She is very picky with dogs. Only likes a few. Usually she turns her head when a dog comes sniffing around her. Rafa was a very annoying puppy. We got him at 4 mo. old and he just pestered Lucy every waking minute, which was a lot. Unlike most puppies, Rafa never sleeps. Too much energy. Drove Lucy nuts. Now Lucy tolerates him and wrestles with him everyday. He's slowly learning the ways of being an indoor dog, though both Lucy and Rafa love to be outside all day. He's definitely a work in progress. Stella looks so much like Lucy. Was she an easy puppy or a handful? She's a small corgi. Lucy is too. Lucy is 4 and weighs 20 lbs. Rafa is already bigger than her. Can't wait to see more photos of Stella. Check out Corgis remembered and you can see some of my other corgis, some that also look like Stella. OK Scarecrow. That's it for now. ttyl.
PS Re food. Check out this website. It's great. It rates food from 1 to 5 stars for nutritional value and 1 to 4 dollar signs for the cost. Click on any of the foods and it gives you all the pluses and minuses. It was surprising how many dog foods have great reputations (eg. Iams, Eukanuba) and really are garbage. Based on the chart, we started using Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul. Both Lucy and Rafa love it (haha. they'd eat anything!) and they look great.
Whoopsie. My mistake. Here it is: http://www.petfoodratings.net/dogtable.html
Sorry. I like it because the dogs do, their coats are shiny and they don't get diarrhea or gas from it.

It also got a ranking of 5 stars out of 5 for nutritional value and only $$ out of $$$$ for the cost.
win/win.
