Profile Information:

Hometown:
Palo Alto, California
About Me:
My husband, Pete, and I live in Palo Alto with our two Corgis, Lily Rose, who is 1 and 1/2, and Charlie Tuna, who is just ten weeks old. We have a home filled with art ( and Corgi fur) and a beautiful garden filled with roses ( and Corgi fur). We give lots of parties (Corgis invited) and love going to Kauai each year (Corgis not invited). I also love going to France with my best friend Barbara, whose yellow Lab, Daisy, is Lily's best friend as well. Alas, Lily and Daisy can't come along on our travels to Europe, though we have had Girls' weekends in Carmel... Ocean Beach will never be the same.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Lily Rose is 1 and 1/2 and is the prettiest girl. She loves everybody and is always the life of the party. She has a ball fetish and would love to be able to catch a squirrel, cat, or crow, not necessarily in that order. She plays rough and only gets mad if another dog has the gaul to try to come out on top. She loves her "nest" and has a million toys, which she seems to have on a permanent rotation. Her favorite roost in the house is on top of the back of the sofa in the family room. She is a Daddy's Girl and enjoys hopping in the shower with Pete. She insists on lavishly kissing everyone who enters our home and is equally insistent on receiving many kisses and belly rubs in return. Charlie Tuna is only ten weeks old and came home June 4th! He's a very affectionate boy and I suspect is going to have quite a challenge in winning over Lily Rose, accustomed as she is to being the Queen of all she surveys....
I have:

    Hi Nicki,
I'm so glad you have had such a warm welcome. If you have any questions about using the site, please just message me and let me know. I was lost at first until my teenagers helped me figure it out.

It sounds like your photo is saved to your computer in the wrong direction. Go to "My pictures" in your computer and find the one you used. When you open it, it will probably be sideways. There should be two little curved arrows under the photo. Click them until the photo is right-side up. Save your change, and then go back to mycorgi and re-install your picture, this time using the adjusted one. Let me know if that works :)

Hi Nicki! Welcome! I'm so sorry to hear about your two corgis. Lily Rose will definitely help you pull through. She is such a cutie and Ollie can't wait to see her again. Hope her recovery goes well. Ollie had complications too but she was a trooper and after two courses of antibiotics, her stitches finally healed.
  • Anneke

Unfortunately Ollie and I will not be able to attend the corgi meet-up for the next few months because we are bringing home a little sister for Ollie this Saturday. We hope all is well with Lily and hope to see you soon!
  • Kelly

  • Carol Rea

Lily Rose is adorable, glade you found her to help you heal as well as be a large part of your lives! When we lost our Odie, we were in the process of moving and Lucky kept looking in the boxes to see if Odie had been put in one of them. 2 weeks after Odie died, Lucky was paralyzed (IVDD), he was luckily save with surgery. It is so hard to lose one, I cannot imagine losing 2 at once! My heart goes out to you. Carol, Lucky and Sonny
  • Carol Rea

Nicki, unfortunately, Lucky will not get better. He walked dragging his back leg for 3 1/2 years after his surgery, and then the past 6 months has been all down hill...with him seal walking most of the time. The past month or 2 he doesn't really stand up or walk, so the cart is so great! He loves that he can play ball again, he often runs right over Sonny who just doesn't get out of the way!
(Sonny is so large I don't worry too much!) Thanks for asking.

Hi and thanks for the comment.

    http://www.canismajor.com/dog/topic1.html

I learned alot of obedience tips from here.

    Also YOUTUBE.COM

it was so instrumental in teaching me obedience moves.

The first move he had to learn was SIT. And now i make sure he does it before he receives food, open his crate door, and anytime i want to establish i am the pack leader.

Bowser gets the biggest hug from use via your sweet request.
  • Melissa and Franklin!

Hi!!! Frankie says give Lily a big ole kiss! His test results from the muscle biopsy were due back yesterday but dr. called and said they won't be back until Monday! We are very frustrated by the delay! Its been HOT HOT HOT here and Frank can't wait for the cooler weather so he can go back to LOOONG walks and playtime! Miss you guys!
  • Melissa and Franklin!

we got the test results back today, basically she said everything was normal and thinks it may be neurological. So still no daignosis and she just said not to play too much with him... I'm really disappointed in getting yet another negative test result. I just wish we could figure out what exactly was causing this and maybe we could help him! Oh well, I guess it just means I get to live by an ocea, river, or lake for the next 15 years :-) Hugs to you guys.

  • Melissa and Franklin!

aw man, I just wrote you a comment and it erased it! Here is the short version, Frank's breeder said their female has been bred, pups are due sometime around Dec. so there will be a new Frank look-a-like at Sequoia sometime in Feb. (I'm giving the pup to Jenna). When are you getting your little guy?
  • Melissa and Franklin!

There's a corgi fair in Dixon next weekend, Jenna is going to come over and we are going to go. I'm soooooooooo excited! A bunch of little bunny butts all in one place! I'm hoping there will be a herding instincts test so Jenna can see Franklin in action. He's going to be overwhelmed by all the dogs that look like him! So far there have been 2 different corgis at the dogpark I go to, one was a little red-headed tri. Frank was the cutest of course...haha
  • Melissa and Franklin!

    Merry Christmas!!
  • Melissa and Franklin!

Hey Nicki! Just saw your post on the NorCal group page, I too have heard horror stories of two females living together. May not be worth putting lily through the stress. Also, I have heard a lot of negative feedback about one puppy litters (i.e. the pups don't grow up with siblings so often have MANY behavioral issues as adults) There are lots of threads on here about singleton puppies, I'd definately think twice about getting a pup from a single pup litter. Just my humble opinion :-)
  • Melissa and Franklin!

Guess what....I'M GETTING A PUPPY!!! I decided to get one of the puppies from my breeder after she continuously sent me pictures everyday of Jenna's puppy! Haha. I've been thinking of getting another dog for a while now so I figured hey why not now!?
  • Melissa and Franklin!

Its a female, I will be naming her Eleanor, AKC name "Franklin's First Lady Eleanor Rigby" hehe. She will be coming home next month. I'm soooooo excited!!
