I've grown up around all sorts of pets, including dogs, and when I finally decided I wanted my first dog (of my very own, instead of a family dog), I eventually settled on the Pembroke. Not only am I a first time dog owner, I'm also a first time Corgi owner!
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Eddie is a Pembroke. He's a red sable & white and he just has the funniest little attitude! He's not big on fetching or cuddling for very long, but he loves tug-o-war, chase, and he's absolutely crazy about snow.
His name is partially a tribute to a character from one of my favorite book series (The Dark Tower -- Eddie Dean is a gunslinger, a huge joker, and a bit of a big mouth), partially a tribute to the Bebop series, and well... because it just seemed to fit him! I had originally picked out the name "Cowboy" and didn't want to have another "Ein" in the corgi world. The name Eddie had bits of both worlds, so I couldn't turn it down.
He comes from a cattle ranch in Wilbur, WA. His parent's names are Radar and Sonar. He has four siblings: One brother, and three sisters. Send me a message if you think you might own one of his siblings! It would be neat for them to meet up and play.
That's the cutest corgi pic I've seen in awhile! Your puppy looks absolutely adorable! I got my first corgi (and personal pet instead of family pet) about three months ago and I've found my GiGi to be quite similar in attitude and intelligence. Welcome!
Yay for a corgi! My dog Favorite is my first dog ever as well and pembroke was also my first choice. She just turned three but sounds alot like your Eddie. She is smart as a whip and knows roughly 60 commands. I hope your training is fun and productive! And welcome to mycorgi we are glad to have you!
Shawna, he looks to be a red/white pem to me. Since he is still young he is still changing colors. My girl looked re/wht until she was much older then her sable "mask" came in and she is actually a true sable.
My pembroke is a 4 month old tri colored male named darby and he is just the cutest little fellow ever. I love his puppy antics , they are soooooooooooo adorable,and he is final;y housebroken yayy !! Have fun with your pup!!
Welcome Shawna and Eddie! Your profile pic is so cute! I LOVE the Dark Tower series! Did you know that Stephen King modeled Oy after a corgi? King has owned a corgi or two...making my favorite author even better, in my book :)
Yes Darby is rather clownish thats what makes him so adorable, his puppy antics are just adorable too. He found new hiding spots like under the bed , under an open dishwasher door and I even found him in the stall shower, too cute.

I think the corgi King has now is named Marlowe. We have a thread here titled something like "Famous corgi owners" with some terrific photos.
I'm excited for the movie but also nervous. I hope they cast it right!

Have you read "Under the Dome" yet? It's a great story and there is a corgi named Horace in it.
I love how King makes a cameo appearance in his movies.
