About Me:
We love our corgi, Ein!! :D

I live in Bellingham, WA. I've grown up in Washington. I love animals. Other than Ein, we have 2 cats, 3 turtles, and a snake (and our room mate's dog). I'm currently going to WWU and my fiance works in utilities. We're getting married next September! I graduate in March, and we'll likely be moving back to our home town.

I joined this site to meet cool people with corgis, learn more about them, and say "AWWW!" to all of your pictures! I also am excited to share pictures and stories with you all!

I welcome anyone to add me! :)

Oh, also, I volunteer at the humane society every week. I'm a photographer, so I take pictures of the animals, come home and touch them up, websize them, and send them to the webmaster. :)
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Our corgi's name is Ein. He loves cookies of all kinds. He also loves to chew on sticks. He's not too interested in squeeky toys, but likes stuffed animals alright. :)

Stacy, welcome to this site!  I love it, too.  It's a great resource for advice and all that, but best of all, great folks and dogs and other critters!

    Thanks for the add!

Hi Stacy.  Sorry to hijack the thread about DM!   There are a few people who are understandably very active from some of the Wheeled Corgi boards.   My fear is they tend to show up in threads like yours with information about DM that directly contradicts the advice being given by the geneticists and vets studying the disease.  I love the breed and hate to see pressure put on breeders to do the wrong thing based on a tiny handful of VERY vocal people who are spreading advice not based on the research.  But I think I went on a little too much!   So sorry again; didn't mean to hijack.  Don't let the disease scare you;  it's really fairly rare and Corgis tend to be healthy and long-lived dogs.

I am!!!!! Small world, I guess! :) Are you getting yours from the same breeder or a different one?

  • iulia

Whoaaa! No way! You guys got the Ein! Lois couldn't believe her ears when we told her that had we picked out the boy, we would have named him the same! I think Cowboy Bebop was just that good of a series, yes. Hehe. Wow, what a coincidence! Maybe we will have to get our little ones to meet up and play sometime!

  • iulia

We would love to have playdates! It will be fun to socialize them since they are the same age :) I am super excited indeed. And a bit nervous!? First-time Corgi owner and I'm trying to learn as much as I can before she comes home. Already bought some chew toys and fun little things like that. I sure do hope their well-puppy check comes back clear so that they can come home on time as planned!

  • iulia

Very very exciting. When are you guys picking him up? I get Chloe on Dec 23rd hopefully! I've noticed from your pictures that you also have 2 kitties, just like I do! One of them is a big, lazy fluff ball who will probably love the puppy. The other one is a bit more temperamental, so it will be interesting to see how everyone gets along with everyone else!!!

  • iulia

Awesome! I will take some time to browse more thoroughly this weekend! I just love how helpful everyone here is. Makes me a lot less nervous about potential problems or puzzling situations we may come across.

I'm not sure if you've found this link yet but it's such a great, comprehensive list of items to get before bringing puppy home. I'm slowly working my way through it

Those are awesome!!!! Thank you so much for sharing them! I've only ever seen the pics that Lois has sent and I don't know why we didn't think to take pictures while we were there. Probably because we were busy playing with all them pups. I thought their other dogs Kayla and Twila were really sweet, too!

Lois emailed and said the vet check is on Wednesday so hopefully we will have everything come back good and have our little ones home before long! :)

  • iulia

I believe you'll receive these pics as well but thought I'd share anyway :) I thought this was adorable. Chloe and Ein exploring the great outdoors!

  • iulia

How many days left!!?? We are getting Chloe on Friday :)

  • iulia

I kept hoping I would be able to get the day off from work but it's not happening. My husband is going to go by himself and pick her up around 10 am. Maybe we can set up a play date sometime in the next few months :) Are you super excited?! I can't believe it's only 2 days away! Waaah!

Love all your pictures, your profile pic is sooo cute!!  Good taste in music too, I added some songs to my playlist from yours!! It has been a while since I've added music to my playlist!

    awww, thanks!!

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

OMG, You're the first person that ever made the connection! Mycorgi members told me the reason that Rafa was so wild and craaazy was because I named him after a terrorist! Hellllooo, no one seemed to know about Rafa Nadal, despite his unbelievable career @ such a young age. Also, one of the most modest and amazing champions in tennis history. I'm am probably older than his mom! You wanted to meet cool members. I may be old, but in my mind, at least (!) I'm very cool, haha. Your baby is so beautiful.

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

    PS

At the urging of many mycorgi members, along with my non-corgi friends, we added Ricky to Rafa's name. So now we have Ricky (Rafa) and Lucy Ricardo! We call him Ricky-Rafa, but we also call Lucy a bunch of nicknames. He's not confused and more than I am! LOL.

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

I guess we have to be specific if we're talking about 2-legged or 4-legged champions. LOL.

(Ricky-)Rafa was named for the 2-legged tennis champion. I know nothing about his history. He was a rescue w/o papers. Lucy has the championship pedigree. Almost every ancestor was a champion including both her mom and dad.

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

So is there a CH in your corgis line with a call name of RAFA?

BTW, I'm watching my RAFA NADAL at match point in the first grand slam tennis event of the year...the Australian Open. Nadal just one in straight sets. Go RAFA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

So CH Triad Simply Put's call name is Rafa? Why is Triad ringing a bell with me. One of my friends on mycorgi has a lot of Triad I believe in their Corgi's pedigree. If I only had a brain. It may even be my friend who gave me so much grief over the name Rafa, haha!

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

It's a small Corgi world. I googled CH Triad Simply Put and the first link I clicked on was: http://vangardcorgis.com/CurrrentShowdogs.aspx

Scroll down the page and there's a great photo of CH Rafa, haha! He's a beautiful tri. Coincidentally, the first Corgi on the page was sired by my Lucy's father.

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

LOL. So much for my humble opinion. I didn't think your baby was a fluffy, but I just read somewhere on your profle page that I was wrong. What else is new, haha?

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

That is so funny. Ein's dad is Rafa. Who's Ein's breeder? Have you seen any photos of Lucy? Would you think she's a fluffy? Ein's feet just don't look like a fluff. He just looks like he has a glamor coat. Whatever he is, he is clearly ADORABLE.  : )  BTW, you take wonderful photos. I really enjoy them.

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

Hey Stacy. I am truly a ditz. The reason that the AKC name Triad rang a bell with me is because I had Roughouse litter mates whose AKC names were Roughouse Watch Over Me & Roughouse Watch Out For Me. My beloved Roughouse Corgis, Dylan and Emily's dam was Triad Roughouse Rebecca H. Her sire was the fabulous CH Roughouse Pennington Daryl. Guess we're 3rd cousins twice removed––BUT FAMILY  : )

    aww,ein is cute

so what inspired you to name him that?
  • Sidney and Angie

yep, kinda figured:) ive seen all the episodes. that is what inspired me to get a corgi. i was gonna get a male and name him ein but i decided to get a female and name her angie do you mind if i add you as a friend?

  • Cindi & Twinkie

    Stacy,

First of all let me AWWWW!  What a cute pup!  I read your blog about the tearing eyes.  I just wanted to drop a bug in your ear about an entropic eye condition. It has to do with the eyelashes growing back into their little puppy eyes.  My eight year-old mix breed came to us at about 12 weeks.  Just a perfect little specimen.  As she weeks passed we noticed that she had a weepy eye and would often rub it on the carpet like it was itchy.  It didn't seem to hurt her much at all.  The only frustration was that vets were slow to want to do anything.  This meant she spent a long time in a cone of shame.  I finally found a vet that offered to do the surgery months before any other vet would (they wanted her to be more grown).  He even offered to do it again, if needed, for free.I just wanted to share our story.  It may not be Ein's problem but its an idea.
