About My Corgi(s):
Have had R & W Pembrokes my whole life, usually in pairs. Lucy, our now 5-yr old charmer, is a delight and keeps us laughing. We purposely picked a petite girl so that we could fly with her in the passenger cabin. We had our maiden voyage CA to NY (w. Lucy in the largest sized airline approved sherpa) and we all survived––esp. me, with the help of a bloody mary!

Fast forward a year and we re-homed a tri-male puppy who would have been in the pound if we didn't intervene. He had been left alone basically 24/7 in a backyard, and was all ribs and ears. He was a handful and the most difficult corgi I had ever owned. I don't know who was more upset by the decision to keep him, Jack, my husband, or Lucy. But all things happen for a reason. He's a wonderful, gentle and loyal corgi and we're all in love with him, including Lucy, (most of the time!), haha. RR turned 1 yo this month & surprised us all by becoming quite the looker. Lucy is 5. RR is twice her size, Everyone thinks that she's the puppy. Ya gotta love happy endings!!!
I have:
Pembroke

We are doing good, waiting for Tuckers leg to heal, hes on strict rest til Christmas!  He is doing pretty well with that, although  I let him out of the gated kitchen and he jumped up on the couch, which hes not supposed to be doing and couldn't do that a couple days ago.  Back to the gated kitchen it is for Tucker!  Hopefully after his resting period and meds are done he will be all better.   If he would only let us trim his fur on his paw pads, it would be much better, but man he is a wild one when it comes to nail trimming and paw pad trimming.  :O  Time sure is flying that is for sure!!   Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year as well!!

  • Snickmom

It is cute to see your fur kids laying so close. None of my dogs sleep close to each other, usually they are about 3 feet apart. They are not allowed on furniture, so that probably makes a difference- if your choice is the floor or on the bed with your buddy.....

  • Snickmom

Wendy/Jack: You are getting good with those thought bubbles, I love your pictures! I noticed that you live in Orange county. Maybe we can get together some day. Hope your holiday season is going well.

  • WhiteDove

Whitehorse The Man was born in Monument Valley, Arizona on the Navajo Nation Reservation. I've never lived there but go back each year during the holidays to drop off care packages to the elderly. They are not like many Indian Nations that have "Casinos" where money is delegated to help their "People". . .and of course I do Archaeology projects there too.

Whitehorse The Man was "MY STORYTELLER".

Hi!  My deviant art account is: http://caresse-par-la-lumie.deviantart.com/ , my etsy is UnlimitedGlassWorks.etsy.com, but I have moved most of my work to http://www.zibbet.com/FunSizedInc because etsy likes to take a lot from your sale.  That, and considering what I sell, Fun Sized Inc seems a more appropriate name.  I keep my etsy online for custom orders from people who only work through etsy.  Right now I have a few items listed, but I'm mostly working off of commissions.  Send me a note if you want me to make anything for you. :)

I work primarily from the zibbet one. :)

Sadly, I do not have a corgi yet.  I am hoping to get one in the next few months though if all pans out well. *crosses fingers*  Here's hoping for a corgi by summer!

  • Julia

Well, maybe in another half-year, then, I could see some cuddling amongst the doggies. Or at least being less than two feet apart. Right now they get close only if one is flaunting the chew toy she has, or they are competing for my lap space.

  • Napolean (Joan and Gabby)

Thank you! We wish you, your family, and pack of corgis a  warm and happy holidays! I hope we get meet again one day :)

  • Jackie (Lilu & Loki)

Thank you for the wishes and Happy Christmas to you too. L&L get along pretty well for the most part - that was one of the things I made sure of before adopting Loki. I think most of the "issues" stem from them working out dominance issues (we've only had Loki about 3 months) and also from us getting used to a new dog. Since we've had Lilu forever, she's completely used to our schedule and way of life, but in some ways Loki is still adjusting. She's a good dog though, and things have definitely gotten better than when we first got her. I know you said Ricky-Rafa was a challenge for you at first, and it seems like the work has paid off. :) Happy Holidays!

  • Michelle Lo

I loved the pictures! I wanted to disturb them in their sleep and snuggle with them hahahaha

  • Napolean (Joan and Gabby)

Yes we are! Haha, that's so weird! I guess it's fate calling for us to meet once again :) Napolean says thanks for complimenting his "good looks" :P We've been well since we've met you some months ago. How about you and your adorable pair of corgis? Any new corgi meetups happening? We'd love to go see all the corgis and maybe meet up again! By now I hope that Napolean is much more socialized so he can play. Merry Christmas! I hope you guys have wonderful holidays :)

Lucy and Ricky-Rafa: Have a very Merry Corgimas from Snickmom and gang.

Hi Wendy: I am Mary. I am new to this whole social networking site thing. I've never done Facebook or anything, and have heard bad things about it, so I figured I'd just enjoy sharing my dogs and not get into me. I have been enjoying the discussion thread about what everyone was getting their fur kids for Christmas. I am so cheap, I hate the bucks greenies cost, but my vet says they need dental chews, so I shell out. Anyway I was at PetSmart today looking at after-Christmas goodies and picked up a real dog bed for half price for Dolly. She has to have something to lay on, even if it is just a piece of paper. Jack has a pillow I made and Snickers is happy laying on the carpet. But then I invited Snickers to lay on the bed and she really likes it so I guess I'll have to go back and get another one. LOL.

Look at Dolly's face- "but my momma said this was sposed to be MY bed"

We actually ran into that group at a rest stop in the Rockies, we were on our way home from Vancouver isl. and they were on their way to Washington so their co-breeder could take her pick, and yes it was so hard not to leave with at least one,the one we would have taken was a one year old a little small by breed standard but an absolute beauty,I'll post pictures at a later date.
  • Bill Davis and Tucker!

Absolutely! When I saw him and got to play with him, I knew that I couldn't leave without him! Thanks!

  • Cindy Lincoln

Hello!  I got a corgi because my yellow lab passed away 8 months previously leaving my GSD alone.  We've always been a 2 dog family but because of our age, we needed to go with a smaller breed.  At first, our GSD would not accept her and would lunge at her crate.  It took 2 months before he finally accepted her.  Now, if they aren't napping, they are playing together.  They are the best of friends so it worked out but it was alot of hard work getting them there.

  • Yuki & Ellie

Thanks so much for the comment and friend request!  I'm a far cry from having the same level of experience as most of the other active members on this site, but I try to share what I do know and try to help when I can.  It makes me happy to know that someone likes something that I've posted!  :)

  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Thanks for your sweet words on my page. Love looking at your pics of Lucy and Ricky-Rafa, and love hearing the stories, its wonderful that all your hard work paid off with Ricky-Rafa, and I agree things do happen for a reason.

New Years Eve, we are just going to go to a neighbors house, and New Years day not too much, my daughter will be working at the shelter after watching my niece for my brother.  What are your plans?

Looking forward to hearing about the corgi play date!!

  • Charlie & Gérôme

    Hello.
Charlie is still a new born. He will be one week tomorrow !
  • Charlie & Gérôme

No problem ! I just updated the profile so maybe you didn't see it before posting the question. I live like 10 minutes away from the breeder !
I'm going to see him today !!! A lot of picture to come !

  • Bella

    Thank u!
  • Ashley West & Rosco/Tucker

thank you! I'll get photos up soon. Unfortunately I don't have one of Rosco swinging, but I do have a video! I'll see if I can get a link to that up. :)

  • wendy alexander

    Wendy,

I have been reading nothing but great things!!!  And I studying about potty training...any advice?  Did you use crate training?  Thanks for any helpful advice..I am looking for a female pup!

  • Clarence Lujan

Thank you for the warm welcome! I agree, two Corgis are better than one! Love your adorable Corgis!!

  • Ashley West & Rosco/Tucker

Hahahahah I love the edited photo!!!! Thanks :) Rosco gets along ok with Tucker. He tries to herd him which is natural, but I think Tucker knows better than to try to be alpha dog with Rosco, so they get along well. As long as Tucker keeps away from the food bowl! Rosco lives with my family in N. Charleston, and at the moment Tucker is living with my boyfriend's family since we both are full time college students, so Rosco and Tucker aren't roommates, but they get to visit each other pretty often.

  • Snickmom

OUr gang is doing well, how about yours?

  • Ciara & Macy

Thankyou(: and your Corgi's are adorable, I hope they are all doing well!

  • GW and Thea

Hi and thank you for the welcome. Your Corgis are gorgeous and I love the captions!

  • Michelle, Blake & Luna :3

Some dogs dog get out of the bitting and chewing sate till a year old or so. LOL my friend Corgi destroyed every single bed he bought his dog Sonic. Till he was a bit older than a year. Good Luck. My Luna is being the same way i really hope she grows out of it sooner than a year i don't think i can afford buying her a bed every time she destroys one LOL

  • GW and Thea

There are still not a lot of Corgis in the city, but there are about five I know if in my neighborhood and surroundings. I try to meet up with them once a month during leash-off Saturdays at my local park.

  • Michelle, Blake & Luna :3

and that is why i don't let Luna stay in the apartment alone when were not home she's only confined to her crate lol but she is still my baby girl lol even if she destroys some stuff.

  • wendy alexander

Did you use a crate inside.  I have never potty trained a dog and am ignorant on these things...at night did they stay in a crate inside too.

  • Stacy M

Is Ricky-Rafa related to Rafa the champion? :)

  • Lacey Stark

thank you for all of your suggestions. i will try putting peanut butter on my hand and arm. we have a kong filled with peanut butter for her and we have frozen it before, but she doesnt stay entertained on one thing for long. we've done the frozen washcloth as well, but same thing, she'll be with it for about 5 or 10 minutes and then get bored. thanks again for your suggestions! i think we just need to stick with 1 or 2 things and she'll probably catch on.

  • Stacy M

Haha! I was actually talking about the 4-legged champion, "Triad Simply Put" haha.

  • Stacy M

Yeah, Rafa the corgi is Ein's dad. :)
I think Ein is almost not-fluff haha. His fluff is really perfect. That's part of what makes him so pretty.  :)

  • Kelsey Baker

Thanks! Of the three, he's the easiest to take pictures of. The girls run around and play too much!

But thanks so much for the compliment!
  • Kelsey Baker

You've got some very good looking corgis there! Lucy's especially cute!
  • Kelsey Baker

Lol, yeah, Lori is the smaller black headed corgi. She's the newer addition to the family. I raise corgis too, and I get a lot of requests for black heads, so I spent a while looking for Lori. She should be having her fist litter in about a month actually. So I'm excited to see what they look like!

It does keep me pretty busy though!

  • Kelsey Baker

Yeah, I've had a soft spot for the black head tris for a while myself. And Gus in particular has been with me since I was in college, so he's still my baby, lol.

The pictures of those pups were from a couple of litters ago. I think about a year and a half maybe. It was just some pics I took one day as the played outside.
  • Kelsey Baker

Clara's had litters of 4-6 puppies, so nothing too big, but this spring, her and Lori are expecting litters within 3 weeks or so of each other, so THAT will be a lot of puppies!
  • Vicki, Grace and Gizmo

I love watching shows with the corgis in them.  How are your corgi babies?  There are days I miss Calif.  As a young person I went from San Fran to San Diego.  Probly still relatives there but lost touch years ago after my mom died.  Had an Aunt in Pasadena.    I miss the weather.  If Ga could lose the humidity we would be a lot like it.   Have a great day.

  • Chris West

I have no idea whether Sam wanted bigger or smaller than 5 MB - I just made sure mine were the right size, sent them in and crossed my fingers lol!!!  Thanks for being my friend!

  • Kim Hays

Looking forward to the biting stage being over :)  She likes to attack the back of my leg and herd me.  I need to get her started in obedience class.  Hopefully that will help with the rough house play.

  • Chris West

LOL, I just made sure my photos were the right widthxheight and saved at a high resolution, then hoped for the best when I sent them in!  Not all of them were good enough either.  On the initial list Sam put out, I had sent in 10-15 photos and I saw that only 5 or 6 had actually made it.  No idea why some did and why some didn't, I just kept sending them in and hoping for the best lol.  And yes, I am a stickler for details as well.  I always try to read up on and research a subject as much as possible

  • Suzanna van Eeghen

THey are quite closely related as the Red Grouse was his grand sire. Yet interestingly, she looks much more like my Sophie whose sire was Ninacorte Starcaster, a US import.

If you ever come to GB, do come and stay - I think we would have quite a lot in common and you could meet my two in person.

  • Suzanna van Eeghen

That photo is just perfect, you can read so much into it

  • Rocky Time

I took your advice and checked out the official website at http://www.pwccsc.org/rescue.html and it seems that if you do apply to rescue a corgi, they match you up with one that is 3 years or older. Although  it does say the majority of them are that age, I suppose its still worth a try applying for a pup. Thank you for the response! I am very jealous of the two amazing corgis you have.

  • Rocky Time

Yeah, I'm on petfinder everyday just searching but none of the pups seem to be available close by in the Southern California area.
