Yes we lost our Tedi 12/29/08 he crossed the rainbow bridge. Didn't think I would want another dog when we lost Tedi let alone anothe Corgi. But it only took us a little while to realize that there was as my husband put it "a big whole we needed to fill". We know we can not replace Tedi Bear, wouldn't even try but we can always get a new fur baby with its' own personality and traits. Your babies are adorable.
They are the greatest, aren't they? Very magical! As for you little girl....make sure nails are trimmed short..hair between pads are trimmed to keep from slipping and over extending limbs or adding undo pressure to move...soft areas to lay that are warm and dry..damp cool air is irritating to arthritis, giving glucosamine chrondite..make sure she isn't over weight, massaging the leg and joint...and sometimes some pain management in the pill form. Limit strenuous workouts or overplay. Really it would be the same if you had arthritis...warm heat really helps. There are dog foods for seniors and even the active young that have joint care in them also.
Get that weight off..that is a big issue and go for walks to keep her from being stiff and will help w/the weight. You can offer green beans so she is getting more to eat w/o adding the calories. There are many threads on here about dieting and over weight Corgis. I had a female that was lame in the right front but as soon as I got weight off of her she was more energetic and the lameness issue went away. Once in a great while she'd get alittle off on it when it was damp or chilly and she'd be laying on concrete like when we went to horse shows so I would cover her and add bedding to the area and it helped.
I'm very happy to hear about your corgis success in weight loss and increased mobility. Sorry for the delay in response but have been extremely busy w/kids and another litter of pups. I'm so behind w/this network and feel horrible about it but just don't want to be on the comp. during the nice weather. Keep up the good work w/your Rubie.
I do not know how I am going to part with them;( They are each sooooo special and individual and soooo much fun!!! I have someone coming to look at them tomorrow and I am accually sad LOL!!! I am not sure if I am ready to part with them, but then the longer I keep them the harder it will be i know!! Thanks for the kudos and good luck with your search,
Thank u Nelly.Your babies are so cute too.Yogi looks a lot like Henry. I am noticing a little black color starting to show on his back. I too hope you get another puppy. Henry is so much fun. I forgot about the potty training stage though.Lol
Thanks Nelly!
Her tummy problems seem to have gotten alot better, thank god.
I cant wait for her to grow up nice n healthy so we can have lotsa fun!
She is so disobedient tho! lol
Yes, that sound great! I would love to meet up. I am ecstatic because we have not met another corgi around here!! There is a dog park in Mount Laurel that we go to every now and then. Is that near your work? I am sure we can find a park that is middle ground. We have a pretty open schedule, so lets schedule a meeting soon! ;) Ben is 10 months, almost 11. Your Farina looks like a youngin puppy too.
The Voorhees Park is very nice, called Connely Park, off Centenial Blvd., and we have recently discovered it to be the nicest of the ones we have been to.
Next Sunday around 230 to 3 Alyssa and Wiley and me Ben and my boyfriend Jesse will be meeting for the second time at Connely Park in Voorhees. We would love to have some Corgi synergy if you and Farina would like to join us!
Hey Nelly! I just realized you called (last night?) I just saw a vmail on my phone. I am waiting on Alyssa to let me know if she can definitely come. If mothers day is busy for you, we can always push it back a week? A corgi romp of the three of us will be a lot of fun i think. Connelly Park in Voorhees is located off of Centennial Drive. I would just go on Google Maps and type in Connelly Park in Voorhees, because my directions would be different coming from Cherry Hill. Its really not difficult to find, and I think its a very pleasant park to go to. Talk to you soon.
Hi!! In the pictures, the corgi's that look like Mandy...one is her mom and one her Grandma...we do not own them, but we know the owners, so see them about once a year. The blonde corgi, her sister Linda Mae was ran over several years ago. We have the one corgi (Mandy) and have added a half sister (Molly) part corgi/part blue heeler and we rescued a dog that was dumped, named her Meisha...she is part black lab and part german sheperd. Mandy runs the house. HA!!! She really does. I love my furbabies. ♥ Thanks for adding us!!
