I love Wolfhounds and seriously considered getting one years ago. Do you have any photos you can post?

  • Tracy & Sir Bentley

Thank you for your birthday wishes for Bentley.  I like Max's fluffy coat.

  • Lauren Rae & Fauna

Linda, how long did it take for your fluffy to reach "full fluff"?  I'm a little bit amazed at how fluffy my dog is getting (she's about 12 months old now).

I grew up northwest of Albany, near Fonda, and now I live out near Syracuse.  :)

    Hi Linda,

Frosty(due to a frost bit ear) came from a farm where the woman had 43 cats and they all lived in a shed. He is always there to greet me in the am. I am now trying to Live trap his buddies to bring them here where they will have a warm place in the garage with another outside fence to go in. I have to take him back to the vet this am because I can't get him to take his antibiotic which I have tried hiding in his food. The Humane Society has spayed, neutered and given them their shots for free since I was willing to give them a new life.  Frosty always greets me in the AM but stays a couple feet away. He came last October so I expect it to still take some time...unfortunately.

  • Jane Christensen

Hi Linda, I got Frosty an antibiotic shot this AM. I chose the 23-24 day one as the other they had was only good for less than a week. The vet covered his face in the crate and Frosty didn't move...thank-goodness. I also caught one of the cats from the other house so now Frosty has his friend Slinky there too. I  hope the rest decide their hungry...it's sardines today! Wish me "luck".

    Hi Linda,

Frosty died on Wed:( I tried and Bella protected him but I guess it wasn't meant to be.I talked with the humane society and she said it's hard with cats you can't catch.

As for coons, we have some in our grove and that's how we ended up with a young one in our trap:( You should have seen  me ...I had a sheet of plywood in front of me and a stick...hoping that when I let him loose he would run and not turn on me...he ran very fast! They did visit our cat house to find food and water:(

    Have a great day!

Sounds like we have something in common..."animals find us"!  I have always wanted a 2nd indoor kitten(part Siamese) and I would gladly get a humane society mix) but strays have other ideas and either show up or need a home! 2 of my 4 humane society cats are really hanging around even in broad daylight with the dogs around:) I noticed tonight when we walked by the big outside fence for them that Tank noticed something...I am hoping that Gramps never left the pen but is hiding in the fence ...I didn't go close just observed. As for the 4th...he is so spooked I don't know where he is but there is also something eating food at our old place so I am hopeful! Animals...

thanks so much, Linda! I love your photos!! Especially the first one with the giant friendly dog on the couch! :)

  • Laura and Tommy Jefferson

hahaha you went from a 7 footer to some of the shortest little guys around! Interesting breed switch for you guys! :)

  • Laura and Tommy Jefferson

Linda, that's not very comforting haha - I really thought as Tom got older he'd start to settle down ... guess I have a long way to go :)

    Good luck tomorrow:)

Is your corgi, Max, your profile picture corgi, correct? If so, he is very handsome!!

  • Erin

Bald and 54 pounds?! The poor Max was so overweight! Was he abused or did he have mats?
  • Erin

Thank you! The corgi flop is so cute! Haha! Also which rescue?
  • Erin

Well Max is very handsome and I'm very glad he wasn't abused. I'm glad he found a forever home now and is happy :)

  • Erin

Aww I'm glad you are keeping up with the previous owner! As for Max, that was quite a fleet!

Linda, Thanks for your kind thoughts about the deaths of Lady and my bro-in-law.  I must mention that it happened about 25 years ago -- I neglected to make this clear in my post.  I learned only last weekend that Lady was over 20 years old and wandered off to die just 3 weeks after MIke's death -- perhaps not coincidentally.  Just a funny-lookin' mutt, and an important dog.

Hi Linda, This has been a long winter! -18 tonight with windchills colder than-40. Most schools are already closed due to the blizzard but also due to the windchills. Not nice at all!

  • Jane Christensen

    Hi Linda,

Did you ever see my pic of Sage with the Irish Wolfhounds? She was young and a bit intimidated by them...haha! I always thought I would like to have 1-2 but never will.

  • Argie Mitra

Thank you for the photo love :)

Thanks for the comment on the post, we appreciate it!

Linda,  Does Max seem well after his surgery?  I remember that the path report was not conclusive.  Does he have a good outlook as far as you know?  I hope so as we sure want these big handsome fluffs to stay well.

    Thanks Linda!
