Welsh Corgi Breeder?
Yes
About My Corgi(s):
My corgi, Snoops, passed away this spring at the age of 13. I'd had him since he was 3. He was sort of a rescue. I grew up with corgis, Snoops was the 7th corgi in our extended family. My parents still have his sister from the same litter and her name is Sadie. Snoops experienced back problems with his advanced age. Possibly DM. In the end he not walking unassisted anymore. He used a wheel chair successfully the last 6 months of his life. I miss him a lot. We have too many other dogs at this time to get another corgi, but I imagine there will be another one in my life at some point in the future.
Thanks for the info. we got Cobi the bottoms-up leash and that helps alot with getting him outside to go potty. He has an appointment at the vet tomorrow and they will most likely do and x-ray then. That is encouraging that the cart trial went well. Good luck.
Was he a rescue? If so, go to CorgiAid and put in an application for a loaner. Yogi hates his cart but did use it at the corgi picnic, somewhat. I am going to assume when he realizes that is his only means of moving, he'll use it more.
Hi Kathryn....just thought I would check in with you to see how Snoops is doing and how he is adapting to his cart? Cobi got a cart in November and took to it really well. He is not in it for long periods of time usually just to play in backyard and walks. We do need to get some better protection for his dragging rear feet, tried a couple of booties that didn't work well. Have you found anything that works? Before we got Cobi his cart he was not even moving his left rear leg and just slightly moving the right. With the cart we started with his left leg in the stirrup and the right leg out of stirrup, now neither leg is in the stirrup and he is actually moving both legs. I know he will probably never walk on his own again but any improvement is nice to see. Hope all is well. gail
