was trying to get some more information about the Bay Area park for Saturday's meet up. Are there any regulations about neutering/spaying? Johann's surgery isnt for another 3 weeks, but he's only about 5 months old. Otherwise, he's up to date on all his DHLPP, rabies, and bordetella.
There is no restriction on spaying and neutering but dogs in heat are not allowed. I can imagine what kind of chaos that would create (even for the neutered fellas)! We can't make it this weekend, but Cooper and I will be at Danny Jackson (near 59 and 610) on the 30th at around 7pm to celebrate him getting his stitches out that afternoon if anyone wants to meet up!
We might be coming tomorrow- I'm not sure because of the drive. It's over an hour each way for us... maybe next time we can meet inside the loop somewhere. Which parks do you all go to in central Houston?
We had a great time today! We both agreed that little Pudge stole the show! So cute. I created an album of pictures so you guys can just go to my profile and see them.
I love pudge as a name b/c he looks like the after affect of me with Fudge.... Pudge. Such a cute puppy. Loved meeting you and look forward to one day seeing my pup playing with others in further meet ups!
and yes, pudge was the cutest fuzball, I know he had so much fun, b/c he must have picked up all the "burrs" in the park, the poor thing. Favorite thing.. watching him waddle, cutest thing ever.

I know- we were sad that we didn't come. It's not the length of the drive so much as it is the gas... just gave up a nice chunk of change for my textbooks :\ but next time we will be there.. rain, shine, gas money, or no gas money :P saw some of the pictures that JanRich posted, looked like you guys had a blast! we are looking forward to meeting you guys next month! :)
I have been on OCD, CorgiAddict, and Daily Corgi for so long, I am jealous I didn't get to meet Pudge this weekend. Looks like you guys had a good time though, Spencer and I will definitely be making the next meetup.

We went to bill archer park today, they have a small dog section with a water area and a shaded awning by the lake, they provide poop bags, and a fountain for you and the shorties. Also, something I liked a lot was the shower area, a little place to spray or bath your pup before loading up a dirty dog. Very nice.
Bill Archer sounds great! When I went to get directions I checked the satellite view and I was sold when I saw the bone shaped ponds. I am looking forward to it!

We had a blast at the meetup today! It was so much fun to meet all of you. After the meetup I took Daisy home (she was totally pooped out) and went to the dog show. I had never been and it was so much fun watching the agility and flyball! We decided to go back Sunday so if any of you plan to go let me know and we will try to meet.
I posted some pictures on my page from the meetup Saturday. I just took random pictures so I didn't get everybody. I also did not take a group shot but I am sure we will get some of those later. See you soon!
Very very important question. We want Pudge to be a swimmer and not a sinker, alas we have no pool and the ocean down in Gavelston is a little chaotic. Any recommendations of where I can teach my pup to swim? I'm a little scared of the wade pools at the dog parks (giardia looooove to live in dog swimming holes). Lakes? Coves? Any Houstonite corgi lovers with a pool wanna teach Pudge how to swim? I guarantee cuteness. :)
Decker just moved down to Galveston and I'd love for him to meet some other corgis! He hasn't been around any since I brought him home from the breeder! And my beagle (Bailey) teases him for not having a tail... (seriously! She struts around the house with this superior, smug look on her face, though that might just be her personality...) Is there going to be a Houston meet up soon?
Hey Erin, he's so cute, we usually have a meet up once a month, usually at the end of the month. We like to rotate the parks where we meet b/c that way we can be fair to everyone. no words yet on where, but it seems like there is one vote for August 27th, and no objections yet.
The 27th sounds good! I am not a morning person but for the corgis I can be there at 8:30. Danny Jackson is closer but I love the Bill Archer park. If we get there early we can get the spot in the shade near the dog pond.
i would like to go to bill archer. we've never been. we went to danny jackson over the weekend and it was waaaaaaaaaaaay too hot for my chocolate bar. we can come on the 27th! but oh gosh, 830, you morning birds are killing me. ;) anything for the corgis!!!
