Either is fine but we prefer Bill Archer :) can't wait for the 27th!
  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

September 4th is Dog Day at Minute Maid park and you can bring your dog to the Astros game. If anyone is interested in going here is the link: http://houston.astros.mlb.com/hou/ticketing/dog_day.jsp?partnerId=a... Before the game they have a dog parade and let you walk around the outside track of the field and there is also a costume contest. I am sure it is guaranteed to be a fun and noisy event!
  • Erin Highfill

I don't think Decker and I are going to be able to make it on the 27th, but we look forward to meetin up next month! And thanks so much for the info about dog day with the Astros! What an awesome group y'all have!
  • Sarah C.

I have GOT to make it to one of these!
  • Brian & Spencer

Won't be able to make it this month, going to be out of town. But I plan on seeing y'all in September.
  • Lori and Renato (Eevee)

Can't wait until the 27th! My husband is going to bring his two little sisters to enjoy the corgi fun!
  • E

Does anyone want to meet earlier?  I have a commitment at 9 so I would actually have to leave before the meetup started.  I'll make plans to get there at 7:15 so if anyone else wants to get there earlier, look for two corgis.
  • Jessica & Johann

Good news: finally found a job that's flexible with school schedule!

Bad news: they want me to start tomorrow morning :(   guess we will have to ask off for the next meet up :( :(

But, my bf and I plan on trying out the Boneyard Drinkery on Sunday.. probably around noon when it opens or a little later.  If we see any other Corgis there, we will give them the word about the Houston meet up group.  We regret not being able to make it in the morning- hope you all have a wonderful time!

  • George & Newman

Newman and George had a blast at their first Corgi meetup today!  We'll certainly be at more, and now that we know what to expect, we'll be better preprared for them to stay out longer next time :)
  • DeeDea & Pudge

pudge needs to learn some manners. does anyone have any recs for obedience classes? i tried petiquette but they are booked.
  • Sarah C.

  • DeeDea & Pudge

Oh yeah! I made a suggestion, too funny. I think 7:30 or 8pm would be a good time to meet up at the Boneyard. They have a pretty nice backyard / deck facility. They also have a lot of food trucks that meet up there in the parking lot. The 24th would be fine. What say yee corgi lovers? Beer... corgis... can life get better than that? I don't think so.
  • DeeDea & Pudge

Alright 7:30pm Boneyard it is! Woot!!
  • Kathy Sanouvong

Hi everyone! i'm new here..and was wondering about these corgi meet ups in houston? i have a baby corgi!
  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

I wanted to thank you, Michelle, for the awesome dog treats you made for us at the last meet-up. Dasiy said they were corgi-licious and even shared with Jessie when we got home. Also, thank you for sharing the MyCorgi.com cards to hand out to other corgi owners we meet. You are awesome!
  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

We had a blast at the Astros Dog Day! Daisy was really good and did not bark too much. (Really!) It was so funny to see all the dogs at the game. I heard there was an Aeros Dog Day too and I am looking forward to it!

  • DeeDea & Pudge

dawww yay! new puppy! michelle, did you make an event for boneyard? i can't wait! bring some cash, they will have some of the elite trucks there!
  • Jessica & Johann

Is the meet up time 7:30 on Saturday?  I'm trying to get someone else to work for me but so far no luck.  We will be there as soon as we can get there- hopefully by 8:30!
  • Sarah ♥'s Sadie

Well Sadie's momma is a dummy... We went to the Boneyard tonight for the meetup... my husband was like "I figured at least a couple corgi's would be here" then I got on my phone and realized it was tomorrow.... fail. It was a neat place though, but don't think we will make the drive from Pearland 2 days in a row. Sorry we missed everybody, hopefully we can make the October one!
  • Sara, Angus and Potatoes

Oh no!, Well, at least you got a chance to scout it out for the rest of us. Sorry to miss Sadie, but I hope you guys at least enjoyed a beer with the pups, it was a beautiful day today!
  • Brian & Spencer

Good Practice for the Buda Costume Contest too !
  • Vickie Hilliard

Just saw the notice about the meeting tonight at the Boneyard.  Would love to come but am sick at the moment.  Hope it becomes a monthly thing !

  • DeeDea & Pudge

should be fun tonight! looks like there will be $4 mimosas and sangrias + pho from phamily bites (vietnamese food truck). can't wait :)
  • Sara, Angus and Potatoes

Angus and potatoes can't make it, we got invited to a friend's place for their welcome home party. They went to china, and are back again, we just can't miss it, but we will be there in october, or if anyone wants to meet up
  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

I am not going to make it tonight and will miss all the corgi fun. :(
  • DeeDea & Pudge

Had a great time last night! The only thing better than corgis is corgis AND beer!
  • NOBU, MUFFIN, ROBYN, & MILES

    We will be there!

Miles, Robyn & of course NOBU!

  • NOBU, MUFFIN, ROBYN, & MILES

The howl - o - ween event that is. Lol
  • Vickie Hilliard

Haven't had a chance to go there yet, but the Bill Archer Dog Park looks really neat.

Proposed date and time for Halloween party work for Pippin & I.

The link above is to a dog park that a good friend of mine goes to everyday.  It's close to 59S at hwy 6.

  • Jessica & Johann

Just booked our room in Buda for corgi celebration! Now we just need to decide what Johann wants to dress up as :o) who else is planning on going to Buda?
  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

We definitely plan to go to Corgi Celebration! Which hotel will you be at? I need to reserve my room this week too. I can't wait for the corgi overload!! :)
  • Jessica & Johann

We also booked under the special rate at Comfort Suites- I think it was $89 for a room with a King bed; not sure what the regular rate is. Anyways, glad to hear y'all are going too! 26 days! :P
  • Vickie Hilliard

Sugarland park doesn't allow food, so that puts it out of the running.
  • DeeDea & Pudge

    My vote is for Bill!!
  • Jenny & Bentley

Bentley and I always go for Bill Archer :)
  • DeeDea & Pudge

I think we are going to stay in the city of Austin more (there are other dog friendly hotels). Will anyone be staying the weekend?
  • JanRich

I saw that on CNN too!  Yay for the corgis!
  • JanRich

I will bring pumpkin corgi snacks for the pups to Howl-o-ween!
  • Kara with Dasiy & Scout

We finally booked our room for Buda but we are staying at Motel 6 down the road. We will spend the extra money at the event. :) Daisy competed in her first agility competition this weekend and she did GREAT! You would not have believed how well behaved she was around all the other dogs. As soon as I get some pictures I will share them. We can't wait for our Howl-O-Ween meetup and Corgi Celebration!!
  • Di-An Laperouse

Sorry we've been a little MIA from Corgi.com, but we plan on being in Buda too!  Can't wait!
  • Hector

    To all,

I have been MIA for the past couple of months, so I need catching up. When and where is the next corgi meet up in Houston (I missed the patio bar thingy) and also is there a Halloween special event coming up? Please fill me because I don't want to miss the next corgi events. Thanks all.

  • Hector

  • DeeDea & Pudge

    Hector,

It appears that we are having a howl-o-weenie meet up at Bill Archer on 10/22 at 10:30. Michelle says there will be cupcakes. I might smuggle in some mimosas. Nothing says breakfast like cupcakes, mimosas and corgis. There will be costumes. There will be corgis. And many many derpy moments.

  • JanRich

Do you guys think it's okay if we bring our 10 month old? (Human, not corgi.)  I don't see anything in the rules about certain ages for children.  I have to be in Hempstead at 2pm and see no reason to drive an hour back to Baytown to get him and then over an hour back the same direction.  We would just have to bring two cars so my husband can go home with the dogs.  What do you think?
  • JanRich

I also don't see a rule about strollers.

  • Jessica & Johann

    Hey JanRich,

I don't remember seeing any rules about it last time we were there about children and/or strollers, I guess if they're supervised the whole time it should be good!

  • Jenny & Bentley

Bentley and I have bad news- an unexpected work trip came up and we cannot make it to the Halloween meet-up :( Bentley is totally bummed...he has the cutest Batman costume. We will miss ya'll- hopefully we will see everyone at the next event

JanRich- I frequent this dog park and I see people quite often with young children and strollers there and it doesn't seem to be an issue at all. I say bring'em along! :)

  • Kathy Sanouvong

Isaac and I aso have bad news.. I have to go to be an escort at a friend's little girls 13th birthday tomorrow all day.. starting at 10 am.. we won't make it, have fun ya'll!
  • JanRich

Thanks for the info about kids!

And we'll miss those who can't make it. See you next time!
