We think Lola is a Cardigan mixed with Belgian Malinois (they're squarer in build than German Shepherds and don't have the black saddle). She makes a great watchdog, but doesn't seem to realize she's only 34 lbs.
We found Jenny, our Pembroke Welsh Corgi mix, on Petfinder.com, and adopted her from Chicago Canine Rescue. Her mother, Trisket, came to the rescue and gave birth to five puppies. We have no idea what breed dad was, but she's 4 1/2 months old now, and that may become more evident as she gets older. We love our little pup, and enjoy learning more about Corgies.
I rescued my corgi mix, Lucky, from a pound about 7 years ago on St. Patricks Day. The vets all say he definitley has corgi in him, but don't seem to be able to tell what else he is mixed with. He's only 11 pounds, has floppy ears, and curly-ish fur. Other than that he is quite like a corgi with his short legs. Any idea's on what he might be mixed with? I was thinking some kind of spaniel maybe.
I am moving and cannot take my boys. If you have any ideas that can help me with this difficult decision, please let me know. Ponch and MacGyver are corgi/chihuhua, 2 years old, and VERY social.
My mom rescued Dolly a couple of years ago and was told she was a pekenese mixed with ??. When she gave Dolly to us and we brought her home and stood her next to our Pembroke, it seemed really obvious what she was mixed with- at least some part of her is corgi. Does that make her a Pekegi? Corginese?
We keep Dolly's hair trimmed. The first thing we did when my son brought her home in June was to buy her a crate and her favorite milk bones and cut off all her hair. After seeing what she did to my mom's furniture there was no way she would be allowed to keep her coat. Luckily in So California she doesn't need it.
Has anyone ever run into someone trying to tell you that you don't know what breed (or mix) your dog is? I had a man tell me that Amy HAD to be at least part Aussie. Even when I told him that I met both her parents he insisted that I had it wrong! To be clear, Amy's mum is a Westie and dad is a Cardigan!
I heard a funny story; a corgi tri's human dad had him at the park, and someone did not believe he was a corgi because he did not look like the queen's corgis. My response was- it is really amazing how people are willling to show their ignorance in public. I find mixed breeds fascinating. when we take Dolly (mix) and Snickers (pemmie) out, people want to talk about Dolly. You can always just say something like, 'gee, maybe you are right" makes the dolt shut up and go away, and it doesn't hurt Amy.
Shelbi he is a sweetie. What a handsome face. My problem is getting people to understand that Amy has not a drop of Aussie blood in her and is, in personality, very Corgi!
New Challenge. Adopted Seeley about a year ago, Seeley is a Corgi mix of some sort. They knew the mom was Corgi but that was it. He has a beautiful Corgi color but short fur and is pretty skinny. We thought he'd bulk up as he grew up but he has stayed pretty thin. He is about 14 months old. Any ideas what else might be mixed all up in there? I put a ton of photos up on my page...hopefully that helps.
That....THAT IS GENIUS! I looked up pictures of a miniature pinscher and the all-brown ones look exactly like Seeley just with a different coat and smaller. That HAS to be spot on, the resemblance is perfect, especially in this one: http://puppydogweb.com/gallery/miniaturepinschers/miniaturepinscher... Yeah I think we have a winner! Looks like I can update my profile to say I am the proud owner of a "Corpin"
I lost my sweet grizzly about a month ago. I think that I am ready for a new adventure but I really wanted to keep the same mix. Does anyone know where I could find an augie (corgi x mini aussie).
Hi Amy, I did a quick search for corgis in your area (based on your profile location) and it looks like there's a corgi rescue group in Graham, Faerydog Corgi Rescue (faerydogrescue@gmail.com). They might keep track of mixes who are up for adoption.
So sorry about your loss, and best wishes for finding a new friend!
Both of my dogs are corgi-aussies there is a breeder out here in WA and I believe she ships them. She also certifies for hips and eyes and handles them very well :) Both of my pups came from her if you look up littleton ranch on facebook you can find her. If she doesn't have any right now she may know of someone who does :) I may be biased since I have two of her dogs, but they are great dogs :) They look more corgi then your baby did though. I am sorry for your loss and I hope you find a wonderful companion to fill the void!

There is a very forlorn, precious Corgi mix boy desperately in need of a home in the shelter in Putnam County, FL. Is there anyone out there that could help this little guy and give him a home. A loving family will save his life. If you are interested here is the number: Shelter contact: cdampier@putnamsheriff.org or (386) 329-0396. Here is his picture♥ corgi%20boy.jpg
Hello, this is my boy JD. He is Corgi/Beagle X. He is such a fun, happy little boy who brings so much joy and love to our home. I love how he talks to us when he's in a cheeky mood.
Hello, I have a 6 yr old Corgi/Collie mix according to the Animal Shelter I got her from a month ago. She's such a sweet dog and has added so much to our family! My husband and I are retired and we have a daughter with her 2 children living with us...and 'Samantha' gets along great with us all!! I have one issue with her -- I cannot find a toy that she enjoys playing with!! Does anyone have any suggestions? What she does when we try and play with her is she will turn her head and walk away...we throw a frisbee and she just looks at us without moving. We really want to play with her outside, but she appears uninterested Before%20grooming.jpg.
Jillian and Becky: in case you didn't know, there is a button in the box where you entered your text that allows you to add a picture. You can have text and picture in the same comment. After you upload the picture you can size it so it doesn't overwhelm the page. This is Dolly at 400 size. You can try different things until you like it before you post. Another great resource on this site is the search feature. up at the very very top right of the page is a search box. If you type teach fetch you will get a bunch of discussions that may be helpful. Feel free to friend me, you can then ask questions privately if you want. If you post questions as a discussion, they show up on the front page and more people will hear your plea for help.
This is Samantha - top pic is her the day we adopted her - bottom pic is her right after she was groomed. (thank you Snickmom for your help) We are wanting to teach her to fetch because when we throw a ball or frisbee she looks at us with a look of: "Now why did you throw away a perfectly good toy?" She just stands there! I'm having a blast on this Corgi site and learning so much! Samantha is the very first Corgi I have had (and I'm "middle-age"). Samantha is a wonderful sweet little girl and she has a 3 yr old male cat 'brother'.lol
@Becky, good luck with fetching. When we throw a ball for Kitsie she just stares at it. Sometimes we drag a toy next to her and she can't help playing with it. If she gets going enough she may chase it but she doesn't bring it back. However I think some corgi's fetch...
I'm almost jealous of you, Gracii... Lloyd is *obsessive* about playing fetch and would do it every moment of the day if he could. When my alarm clock goes off in the morning, he stands up on his hind legs, squeaky ball in his mouth, ready to greet the day! I almost wonder if it's some sort of canine OCD, but at least he's happy :)
My boy wants to play fetch ALL the time!! He is obsessed. Like Lloyd, I swear JD has OCD when it comes to his "fetch" playing. I have to hide his ball otherwise it's non stop.
Hi Becky,What a sweet baby you have there!Samantha looks alot like my late corgi/sheltie mix Ginger!Ginger was alittle lighter in coloring, but other that than that they could have been twins!
Douglas Cox
Wisdom panel said he's poodle/terrier and a lot of UNKNOWN, but he's mainly Corgi! Based on photos of other mixes, I'm guess Corgi/Lab.

He may not look it, but he is actually a mix. He has a Cardigan like tail, but it has a crook at the base and it curls up.
