Maple Syrup party sounds fun! Let us know when. And don't worry about the dyslexia---Ragnar is hardly a common name--it's an easy mistake.
Christine--when you're in the area, let me know--there are about 3 other stores I know about that have nothing but high quality food (tho not sure about nail trims there)--better variety than Petco. Really awesome chewtoys too. I'd like to do the Francis Slocum walk this year. I used to take Aber there for a swim regularly.
And I'm so jealous of you all down there near Philly. We got zip--just a bare coating that the grass is still visible through. I feel cheated.
Hey Ally, we were just at Peace Valley park last weekend with Oppy. Whereabouts in Lansdale do you live? I used to live right by the Montgomery Mall but just over a year ago I moved to Bensalem.
Hi~ we're on Cowpath. About 5 mins to Montgomery Mall.
I love this area so much. Two dog parks, Peace Valley Park, PetSmart, Cutter's Mill, doggie style and so many more are all nearby.
Hello - there is a corgi mix named Felicia who was recently turned in to the Philadelphia SPCA, at the ACCT shelter on Hunting Park Avenue. Below is the description and link to photos - if anyone can foster, or is interested in adopting Felicia, let me know and I can get you in touch with the right people. She has been in foster care for about a week and is adjusting to life with other dogs.
Felicia is a senior Corgie mix that was brought to ACCT because she's too old for her owners to care for. Felicia had never gone to a vet and never lived with other animals. Her former owner said that Felicia became aggressive to the children in her home when they would 'step on her or pull her ears'. We can't blame Felicia for that! This poor old girl needs a nice home where she doesn't have to worry about defending herself against children and can get some much needed love and affection. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2724/4363418218_a3d730441a_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4020/4363418236_7ccd15d942_b.jpg
I used to live in North Wales, so I remember the bark park right there with great fondness. And Ally, I used to take Aber to Peace Valley all the time, stopping at Tabora for lunch first. We were just there this past Saturday--stocking up on baked goods and visiting Bolton's Turkey Farm and Blooming Glen pork to fill the freezer. Can't seem to find the same kind of thing up here, so we made the road trip.
Wow small world Shannon and all. We shop at Bolton's and Blooming Glen. Blooming Glen has a great BBQ sauce and now serve lunch on Saturday in the Summer. I don't know the Peace Valley Park but maybe we can do a small corgi round up sometime in the area. We live on the river south of Easton.
Yep, I hadn't been there for like 5 years since I moved out of the area, and forgot about the BBQ sauce. On the way out, I remembered how much I loved it. Next time. But a Peace Valley lakeside get-together sounds fun.
Found a great dog park in Hellertown, PA near the high school and rte 412. Le-Le is learning how to play with other dogs while the 2 legged creatures watch. She is still very shy around people. Anybody want to make a play date?
We are from Greenfield Township, Pa. Its right outside of Carbondale. Our house is in a more remote area with lots of land for Lilly to roam on. Scranton is only about 20 minutes from here. Lilly loves to go for rides in the car because of her curious personality. =)
I have to say..this weather has been great and Lilly really loves swimming in the pool on these hot days. She fluffs right back out right after she gets out and shakes two or three times....anyone else have a 'water baby?'
Our tri corgi London, now one year old, graduated from basic obedience training class tuesday night in Williamsport! Next is Advanced and CGC, and then the path to therapy dog!
Hi there! New to the group and new corgi owner. Brodie is 10 weeks today. We live in doylestown, pa--very near peace valley park. Looking forward to bringing the little man there in the springtime :) So nice to hear of all the corgis (somewhat) locally
We live on the West Side of Coatesville along Business 30. I am a co-owner with my sister of a embroidery and sewing shop. When our customers come in to our shop they are usually greeted by 4 of 6 corgis which sleep under my desk while I am working. They are very lucky dogs because we have over an acre of land fenced in between our commercial building and our home with doggie doors so they can go anywhere they want.
They get so excited when I tell them it is time to go to work. Unek Designs Embroidery & Sewing Shop would not be the same without a corgi in it. But Gwen which sleeps on my desk while I doing my artwork or chase the mouse on the screen. Xena her sister thinks she is suppose to sit in my chair leaving me with about 3 inches on the edge. Arianna is our door alarm when she starts barking we know someone came in the front door. Cali is our doorstop she lays against our storefront doors so the customers have to step over when the come in. Cory is 14 years old she is totally deaf and blind in one eye but she has been nicknamed speed-bump by all the employees because we are always tripping over her.Now we cannot forget Sarge causes nothing but chaos what can I say he is the only male. Then to top all off we have a Dobbie/Shepard cross that tries to keep these little midgets under control until UPS comes in than she loose her control as well because everyone knows that the biscuits are coming. There is no way that life is boring because one of them always manage to do something to make us laugh. Then once a month weather is good since Friday is our short day the employees can bring there dogs which has become the corgi attitude readjustment. Everyone says a couple of hours at work with the corgis is so exhausting for there dogs they go home and sleep for days. So everyone will have to know what think of this craziness but I'll tell you we love it. There are pics and video of all of them on my facebook page. Our website
Hello all! I've been thinking about a baby brother for Nugget and I was curious where everyone got their dogs and if anyone can recommend a breeder? Thanks!
We got all 3 of our cardis from Legacy in Greer, SC. Sharon Wilson is the breeder and they are the nicest dogs. She'll even deliver if she can--she has friends who go to shows all over the east coast, so usually there's someone who can drop a pup off. The downside is you don't meet your dog first, but I trust her. All three boys are sweet lovely dogs who've been raised inside with kids and cats and other dogs.
My husband and I are planning to get a Pembroke Welsh corgi pup sometime in April or May. I've been looking up breeders online but don't know which ones are really reputable or not. I'm looking at breeders from Wynfox, EZBrook, Wedge Manor Corgi Farm, Corgi Pets Deluxe. Anyone ever heard of these places or know if people were happy with their new puppies? Do you have any breeders in you could suggest? I was also looking at Greenfield Puppies but then saw a couple red flags that they may be puppy mills - even though they say they're NOT in the website. I don't know. Any advice is much appreciated!
Lori, we got our Oppy from EZBrook and have been very happy with him for 2 years now. They don't dock tails there which we really liked (although he often gets mistaken for a Cardigan because of it). I'd highly recommend getting a corgi from Susie.
Hi all- thanks for the tips! My husband and I went with a male corgi pup from EZbrook and plan on taking him home the first week of May. Yay! We're excited as this is our first dog/pet ever.
As I started thinking about the pet budget I couldn't help but notice how much first year expenses would be. How do you all save on pet care expenses - pet health care, pet supplies, puppy kindergarten for socialization, obedience training, etc? Also, is anyone doing the raw diet for your pet? (I heard it's much better for dogs in the long run, less costly vet bills, etc.) If so how is it working?
Oppy (who we got from EZ Brook) was very well socialized already when we brought him home, but it also helped that both of our parents each had dogs that he could play with.
He's been pretty healthy so far, but those yearly visits (especially when they get shots) can get costly (he got 3 shots a few weeks ago and that was $200). We took him to PetSmart training classes around 1 year and that ran us something like $100 for 8 weeks.
If your pup is anything like Oppy, he's going to be insanely affectionate. Congrats on the addition.
Anybody else went to Sakura Sunday yesterday in Fairmount Park? We met a red and white Corgi named Sky from Harrisburg and she and Aily look like a twin!!
We're not going away for Labor Day weekend since I have to work on Monday. Any one up for Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Let me know what time works for everyone.
Hello there! Bella and I are new to the sight and group! Bella was rescued in Texas and I currently live here. I am training at Ballet Austin to be a professional dancer. I am originally from Mechanicsburg, Pa (Harrisburg area). My family has two other corgis at home along with an aussie in Mechanicsburg. Our family is just full of corgi love! We just dropped by to say hello from Texas!
Hi I'm new to MyCorgi and I just got my first ever Corgi in May. Laci is my Sunshine she is great. Its great to find a Corgi group centered in Pennslyvania. We live in Somerset PA in the Southwest area, are their any members near me.

Hi, Lori
Aily and Sesame are both from Wedge Manor Corgi Farm.
Their moms live there with two other Corgis. All of them are beautiful and great. I love them all.
I'm not sure Micki, the breeder, is planning for a new litter in this spring tho...

We took Aily and Sesame to the Lloyd Park in Downingtown,
It is THE BEST dog park ever!
Tons of grassy area to run around and water is crystal clear.
Only downside for us is that it is an hour drive for us.
But it's SO worth it.
They loved it there.
Highly recommended!!
