Here is my Sophie. She is now 2 years old. I learned this evening from a member of this site that she is a sable (my vet told me she was a tri)! I looked it up and sure enough - she is a sable!
Carole, my vet told me the same for our rescue Sonny! He has beautiful black markings on his face, but no black saddle, go figure! Your Sophie is gorgeous!
April 30th 2011 is the Atlanta Humane Society pet parade fund raiser held at Piedmont park. It would be great to get a group of corgi's walking in this parade. The website is www.atlantapetparade.org for further information. Registration is $30 so I thought I would put this out early so we all have time to get our fees together. Can someone tell me if Eddie is, in fact, a sable? I think he is. He doesn't have the dark mask markings or anything like most of the sables I've seen, but his stumpy tail has a ton of wiry black hairs.
I'd say probably, but just keep an eye out as he grows older. Their coats tend to change as they get older and he may prove not to be or end up with it all over him. He's very cute none the less. :)
They just leave, abandon, this beauty right in the vet clinic, he is 2 years old,pure breed tricolor. He looks sad, and kind of flaquito ( skinny) when I compare this picture to my Junos! I know the clinic is in Puerto Rico, and here the Corgis are not well known, people dont know about the glorious characteristics of them. My apartment is so tiny, that I can even dram of having another dog. I will leave the contact number here (787) 768-5800. He is not fix, and is describe as a good character, great heart hunny.
Whoo! It seems like she has the legs of a can can dancer, but perhaps it is because she is not as chubby as many of the corgis I have seen. Lovely girl none the less. :)
These 2 pups I believe are the 2 I will be keeping out of my DM Clear litter by Meagan and Crusher. I wanted a tri girl and a sable male but the order got messed up and I got 2 sables. LOL

she's so cute. It's hard to tell when they are that little. I had to wait until Henry was about a year to fully determine that he was a red and white. =)

Hi everyone! I just picked out my puppy today. His name is Brian. I'm not very familiar with this color but I have seen this group and the breeder tells me he is the color sable. Can anyone tell me anything about what this little guy will grow into... colorwise?
Sables can have varying degrees of black and I am guessing Brian will have a fair amount of black. Sables can have a bit or much black. Sage,my darkest sable has alot and Teddy one of my rescues has less but is a sable. You can see Sage on my pics. He sure is cute!

I think this is one of the VERY few breeds where the adult dogs are actually cuter than puppies! I have 2 German Shepherds and I think the same thing of them. They are cute puppies also, but they are such handsome dogs.
Sable coloring can be of slight sabling, moderate sabling and dark sabling...the sable color goes through many changes and the true color sometimes doesn't come out til about a year old and it has been said that the older the sable gets the more color that shows.

Our Kelso was born and registered a sable, but now he doesn't have a black hair on him and is simply red and white. I like to believe he's still a sable down deep in his heart, though :)
Hard to tell what they turn out like either he will keep some sable or will turn out a nice red (darker than the normal red) that's what happened to the grey on our dog.
Sorry meant to post this picture of our dog's head when he was a puppy. Your very cute puppy is a much darker colour than our dog ever was so he will probably turn out a sable and keep his mask. Our dog was registered a sable but turned mainly red and white - he still has some black in his coat. Your puppy is beautiful.
Koda is a lighter sable... Wish he ended up darker, but I LOVE sables! Excuse his nails in the pic, he had vinyl nail caps on after I got my wood floors refinished, lol!

Our Leo is Sable I think at least that's what our breeder told us, he has more of a deeper color to him and his tail is blackish.

Hello, I recently bought my first corgi, his name is Señor and I love the little guy. He is now 10 weeks old and very smart and active.
I´m pretty sure he is a sable, he has a little bit of white around his nose and down his neck and chest and has white toes.
Do you know how much his color is going to change, and how far are the white parts going to spread?
Did anyne had a similar puppy that can show me the puppy vs. adult pictures?
Don´t get me wrong, I love his color, I´m just curious
