Oh yes, I'm familiar with Cornerstone. Finnigan has some Cornerstone in his bloodline! I wamted to et into showing too but didn't want to have an unneutered male in the house. That's the only downside to showing is that you can't spay or neuter.
As far as the nose coloring, many Blues end up with a butterfly nose where it's pink and black. Finn's half brother Quinn (who is my Mom's dog) has a pretty much totally pink nose as you probably saw in the pictures and he is 1 1/2 years old.
When we got Finnigan at 8 weeks his nose was a lot more pink than it is now. Now he just has two little pink spots in his nostrils.
Here he was at 8 wks:
And 11 weeks:
And 14 wks:
So you can see the rate at which his nose darkened. I think Lindy's may get darker still but probably won't turn all black. She's darling either way. :)
Hi, you asked for puppy name suggestion..If it was mine I'd call her Cookies and Cream or Cookie for short. She reminds me of cookies and cream ice cream :)
Thanks so much for the information about the blue merle! I was actually asking for my mom, so I looked it up and gave her the name and number. I really hope she gets her. My parents recently lost one of their dogs (they have 2 now instead of 3) to Cushing's Disease. He was one of the best, sweetest dogs my family has ever had. He was a Scottie, though, not a Corgi. Since I've gotten Stella, my mom has fallen in love with her and has been reading about Corgis and particularly the Blue Merles. I'll let you know if they decide to get her. Thanks again!
Lindy is beautiful! Love your pics...and her precious ears! Saw Lindy's picture on the Awkward Sleepers Club page...Annie sleeps with her head on the rung of our desk chair sometimes, too...looks uncomfortable, but they apparently don't think so!
Hi! I saw your question about pink noses on blue merles on Alice's page :) For our guy Silas, it took quite a while before his nose filled in completely, I want to say, maybe even a year? Lindy is adorable!
Wow, I didn't realize she was an Oliver puppy too? The only siblings I've met are the ones my family owns. Once we got Finn everyone fell in love with the breed and my Mom adopted Quinn (he's the blue merle on my page with one floppy ear). He was a show dog until his ear flopped down at 10 months old. He was returned to the breeder who owns Oliver (Arylan Cardigans in NM) and when he told me about him I showed my Mom his pics and she fell in love. He too is an Oliver pup with a different Mom. Just a few months ago the breeder had an Oliver daughter who was kept for show but neither of her ears stood and we placed her with my husband's aunt. I don't think I have any pictures of her. Oliver's kids definitely have a certain look that sets them apart. So who is Ruby's Mom? I wish Finn could meet Ruby. He seems to know when he meets one of his siblings. He instantly loves them more than any other dogs he meets. I don't know how he knows but he obviously does. How old is Ruby now?
