    I adopted a 9 year old Cardigan in Canada. He, too, was a breeding/showdog with CKC status. I didn't have to pay anything for him. He was free. I did have to pay to have him neutered before I took possession of him. This cost about $150.00 If you are still interested in the 4 year old, ask if you payed to have her spayed if you could adopt her.

    Keep going with the Cardigans; they are the best.

    If you want, I could hunt up the name of a breeder in ON who told me about some older showdogs....I just got the feeling they would be a lot cheaper. And they should be! Good luck!

    Hi Justine...would love to talk! First time Corgi owner also. Taffy came from a small breeder in Eastern Ontario, birthdate May 20. Unlikely they are related. Taffy's dad is a tricolor named Mickey..how weird is that???

    we're located on the West Island. I haven't brought Taffy to a dog park yet. She is very bad when encountering dogs on the street... barking and snarling and pulling. Any suggestions?

    Obedience training starts on Tuesday, so hopefully that will help. Would love to meet sometime at the dog park. I have a friend in the Dr Penfield area with fox terriers who goes to the park, and wants to get the pooches together. Also have a friend from this site with a young female Pembroke who might be interested. I am seriously considering setting up an agility course in my backyard this summer. (is my Corgi running my life?)

    We are very excited!!! 12 more days :)
    We looked very hard for a good breeder around the Montreal area... most of them had no more puppies available and had waiting lists.. I did find one breeder that had puppies available in Quebec city however she wasn't very kind so we decided to look elsewhere... We finally found a very nice family in New York, Adams that own a little farm...and we are very pleased with them :) So we shall have doggy dates very soon! I can't wait! Where did you get your sweet little boy?

    That is so sweet! They look so happy together :) If all goes well we will probably get another corgi when Mia will by 1 so she can have a little buddy :)
    Where is this breeder in Naprieville? I really thought I found every corgi breeder in the area... Do they have a website?

    I have been looking to adopt but havn't found a corgi in the area...We will see next year and if not I plan to take another Corgi from the same lady if she has another litter... :)

    This is my first corgi pup. My last dog she was an unknown mix... but we found that she looked a lot like a corgi (long body short legs…) that’s how I was introduced to corgis :)

    Mia’s tail has been docked so no tail for my little baby… to be honest with you for quite some time I had no idea that this was done… I thought corgis were born without a tail… I guess that was a little stupid of me ;)

    I was wondering what food you’re feeding Mickey and Walter and what puppy food you used? My breeder uses Purina One but they don’t sell it here in Montreal and I was recommended Vetdiet Puppy from Mondou. Any suggestions? I asked Judy the same question :) Thank you

    Hi Justine,
    How are you? How was your trip?
    Last night was our first night using a crate for Mia. She wouldn't go in there on her own, so we waited till she falls asleep and who moved her in the crate. She ended up waking up 3 times... I think perhaps I didn't divide the crate big enough because when she moves around she hits the metal... it wakes her up and I don’t think she likes it, so I will try to make her a bigger space... I did cover the crate to make it feel more cozy. So we will see the next couple of days how it will go.. But she is just such a sweetheart! She loves people takes her a minute or two but she warms up to everyone!

    I havn't introduced her to dogs yet because all my friends dogs are a little bit "crazy" hehe so I really need a calm and vaccinated dog for her to meet. She has only had her first shot, her next one is on July 12th, so I still can't take her to dog parks. I can't wait to meet your little angels! I really hope Mia will get along well with other dogs... My last dog was just an absolute angel her whole life, but when it came to other dogs, the horns came out hehe
