thanks! It feels like it is taking forever. The good thing is that I will be busy pretty much right until about 15 minutes before I pick him up. I did get to meet him the other day, he is such a playful little guy. It was kind of weird, because it seemed like he knew me and walked up to me and wanted to play right away, and he was being stubborn when I handed him over to the breeder! I even finally decided on his AKC reg. name. I am counting down the hours right now
naw, I don't plan on showing him, agility and herding will be the only things he might do. I have a close friend that is a trainer and she said she would be happy to see a corgi in the group. You ever watch the dog shows? You know how they always have long names? Thats what I meant. He is Sir Wynstan, Duke of Overton.
Thanks! But I will be able to sleep tonight, I had to get up at 330 in the morning and drive an hour to get stuff during the black friday sale, and with work tonight and tomorrow morning, I will be occupied. Thank goodness, because if I wasn't I am sure I would stare at the walls with boredom
The first day went by smoothly, we are both tired. I love how his yawn sounds like a wookie. He is a bit too adventurous, I got a bit scared when he did a flip off the bed and acted like nothing happened.
Hi Sweetie, it was not our Ellie. I was up there monday. I have had a few calls and leads, it is very emotional. We're still praying for Ellie to come home to us.
Took Cooper for his shots and he had a reaction where his face and ears swelled up. Of course it was 7:30 pm so I had to take him to the ER. They gave him a steroid and benedryl and he's ok. Next time the vet will have to give only half at a time. They think it was the leptospirosis. Because corgis have a tendency to do this. He's fine now. Scared me tho. Told me to buy childrens benedryl 12 1/2 mg, grape flavor. I will buy some to keep on hand. Thought I'd let you know.
As a joke, I am training Wynstan to learn military hand signals. I play airsoft (a more realistic version of paintball) and I think my airsoft buddies would absolutely die with laughter if they saw him respond to hand signals like that
I'm so happy to hear about another corgi puppy that's pickles age! We should definitely have a play day. What dog parks do you go to? So far we've gone to Altamonte, WinterPark, and Cassleberry. She seems to love Cassleberry and WinterPark's the best. We'll also be at the Jan 23rd Corgi Meetup! :D
Well Cooper has had all his shots now. He stayed at the vets all day so they could watch him for reaction. The vets kids were there playing with him, so he survived. He weighed 14.5 lbs. He's starting to put on weight finally. Looking forward to the Jan meetup.
Odin is getting to be a big boy...enjoy this puppy stage cuz Edward is 8mos old now and huge...I mean long; not fat and getting longer I swear everyday!!! I'm so glad you have such a great time with him. I am enjoying my two sooo much and I don't know what I would do without them!!!!
You should be able to find some of his teeth, when all of our German Shepherds were teething, we found teeth in our arms and around ourselves. Good luck on finding some, it has to be slightly different for corgis.
When they are teething like that you have to be careful that they don't eat the teeth either. The GSD we have now did not feel bad after eating a couple of her own.
Hey Alison!
We are so bummed, but we can't come on Saturday. Calvin woke up very ill this past Saturday and was really knawing at his rear back. It was very wet and oozing. We rushed him to the vet and he had developed a staph infection. The dog park must have put it in full swing. Do you remember me telling you that I thought he had a strange odor? It was the infection! Poor baby:( So now he is on antibiotics and has a shaved rear. He has to wear the cone collar for TEN DAYS!!! So sad, but we'll try to make the next get together for sure!
I thought about it, but I got a blog set up but I never remember to use it. It would end up being really general one and I am sure not everyone wants to read about my personal situations.
What can I say, Wynstan is an interesting puppy. Everyday is truly an adventure. I may end up doing it in the near future, I will make sure to let everyone know if/when I do it.
Hi...We are suppose to see a breeder in Jacksonville next week. Trying to be very careful to get a reputable breeder in FL. I see you are in Orlando, did you find your Corgi in the area? We visited another breeder in N FL that turned out to be a puppy mill...very sad living conditions for the dogs. I'm so excited, but I do want to find just the right pup.
Let Odin know that his brother Cooper got neutered today. :( I see that their mother had more puppies on the 6th (different Daddy) the tramp :) she gets around. lol
He's fine. Has to wear the "cone of shame" because he won't leave it alone. He keeps sitting down. I put him in his exercise pen (recovery room) in the kitchen to keep him quite. He wants out to play with Radar (whine, bark) but they get to rough. Went ahead an got pain meds if he needs some tomorrow. I'm off this week so I can nurse him back to health.
Well today I left him in the kitchen with his cone on and when I returned it was off and chewed to pieces. He's chasing and fighting with Radar like nothing happened. Must be the two male thing to fight over everything. Mine, Mine, Mine! lol
Hello Allison and Odin! I see that you are originally from Orange Park, we are in St. Augustine! Also, I used to have a yellow lab named Odin! I LOVE the name!
Well, Elvis is from Celestial Star Kennels in Osteen, Florida (near Orlando). Where is Odin from?
I love your pictures! I cannot wait to introduce the kids to swimming! They love water-stomping(drinking water dish) and ll 3 do it! Thankfully we have tile! Hope to see you at the corgi picnic when it comes around.
