About My Corgi(s):
In April 2010, we got our beautiful, red and white fluffy boy (b. 1/1/10), Jon Farleigh (Old English meaning Jon from the bull pasture), from a wonderful breeder in North Carolina.

My husband and I had such a hard time choosing just one Cardigan that three months later, we brought home our stunning, brindle-pointed blue merle boy (b. 2/12/10), Dewi Vaughn (Welsh meaning Little Davey), from a wonderful breeder in Maryland.

The Cardi boys have blessed my animal-friendly household tremendously.

Welcome Elizabeth and her two! When our Lucky was younger and met his first cardi at a corgi picnic, he followed it around trying to catch his tail, they were so cute! Look forward to pictures soon. Carol, Lucky and Sonny

Aw, your boys are adorable. Your blue's face reminds me a lot of Finn. Do you know where the parents were? Wouldn't be surprised if they're related. :)

Hello to Dewi, Jon Farleigh and Elizabeth. I am so excited to know you are so close to us. Would love to plan a play date with you...Love your pictures....Do the Cardigans shed a much as the Pembrokes?

Just let me know a day and time that might work out and then we can plan where after that.....Can hardly wait to meet you.

Hi Elizabeth! Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you...I couldn't remember my password until today. Your Cardis are very handsome! =)
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Your cardis are adorable :) We did have a good visit, we did a bit of sight seeing in Washington, went to the "Mall," saw the Washington Monument, White House and a bunch of the other historical stuff. We also went to Mount Vernon and saw George Washingtons Mansion. It was a nice family trip, our first time there. So much to do but we ran out of time. Lance went with us on the trip, but didnt get to sight see, since we took public transportation. (Having a brain cramp right now, maybe the Metro) I did see another corgi though close by my brothers house, first corgi I have seen while on vacation. We were passing by in the car so I didnt get to talk to the owner, now I will wonder forever if maybe they are on mycorgi, lol.

I would be all for a meet up group in our area. My dogs had such a great time on the walk in Williamsburg....and I know that they would enjoy doing more of that sort of thing. I am not suggesting, however, that we put a lot of dogs out loose in someone's yard, hoping they all get along.....but the walk was a perfect way of letting them be together, but with owner control. It would also just be fun getting to know the owners of the Corgis in the area and sharing stories. Thanks so much for the corresspondence.
  • Tiffany

    lovely Cardis!

Hope you had a very Happy Birthday!! I believe our birthdays are a day apart as mine is the 5th of August! Natalie
  • Marion Hebert

Hi Elizabeth.....did I mention that is my middle name....sort of have a soft spot for it.....Just let me know when you think it might be a good time for a Corgi walk-about....My dogs really love getting together with others. When we set somekind of a time a place...then we can put the invite out to others. How does that sound to you.
  • Marion Hebert

Hey Elizabeth.....thanks for being my friend. I'm great with waiting until your kids are back in school......just let me know which days are good for you and then we will get busy and plan where to walk....In the Williamsburg area there are lots of places to walk....the York River State Park, and the trails by the High School ....etc. By me there is Point of Rocks park in Enon.....do you know where that is by any chance. There also is a great set of trails in a park near Chester just off Route 10. Oh well we will get it figured out....Then one of us can send directions to the other one...Have a great day.

  • Shepdog

Aw, thank you so much! :D

Your boys are terribly handsome! Love the reds, and of course, I'm totally partial to merles! ;)
  • Marion Hebert

Hi thought I would just drop a note and see if you have any available time to get together for a dog walk......Congratulations on your win at Chester Fest....Wish I had known you were going to be there......Marion
  • Shepdog

You know, I had to go back and double check his non merle mom... she's actually a black/brindle point, but her brindle points are very subtle. Simon's actually a brindle-point, even though he doesn't quite look it at times; his brindle's hidden quite a bit in his colors.

I will say his dad has the tan points too-- and his brothers, and they all have a lot of it on them, but Simon has the most. It was funny, when I got him I'd been wanting a clear blue, now that I have him, heck, I love the pointed blues far more. So dramatic!

Elizabeth,I loved your sheep herding story! Your two cardi boys are extremely handsome guys! I like Charleston alot to always wanted to live here and now we do! Thanks for sharing send me a message if you come this way maybe we can meet for a beach walk with the dogs!
  • Marion Hebert

Good Morning.....just want to say how much we enjoyed walking with you. Maybe we can do it again sometime.....Also, I have some information about the sheep herding....The boarding facility is named A STAY IN THE COUNTRY.....It is nice and clean and has lots of turnout space.....Very new.....The owner is not doing sheep herding at this time, but asked me how many people would be interested and said she has several friends in the area who might consider giving lessons.....She mentioned New Kent Country and Dinwiddie....I left my name and telephone number and waiting anxiously to hear from her. Also, FYI, she said that you must not think that your pup will not be a sheep herder.....some dogs take a little longer to develop the chase attitude.....and often will be very capable at sheep herding as they get older. her web site for the facility is www.ASTAYINTHECOUNTRY.COM I have not checked that out yet. She also offers play days, bath and brush, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and nail trims.
