yep! all the questions are for you. she is such a doll. looks like quite the corgi gathering in your slide show.
  • vicky hyde

thanks for the info. she is just so darn cute. 12 weeks!!! they grow so fast. at least in body. my 2 still act like they are puppies, but i like that. jack, the old man, still chases squierrels and birds out of the back yard. joker is learning these cutsie little things also. stay in touch and like i said, she is such a doll.

only 2 llive with me. jack and joker. left and middle. joker's brother jinx, on the right, lives down in illinois, down the road from his mom. what kind of showing are you interested in? i grew up in obedience but now show only in conformation. i grew up in the dog world. my parents had started a german shepherd specialty club years ago, so this insane show world has always been a part of my life. if this is what you are interested i, feel free to ask questions. if i can help, i will. so will most everyone on show friends. take care. and, give that adorable little girl a hug for me.

as far as being lonely, you can always get another. hehe! that way everything happens in twos and when something happens- eaten shoes, leg shewed on table, you don't know which one to blame so you just have to sit down with both and explain that eating shoes is a no-no and then love them up even more. jack is joker and jinx's dad. joker was almost 2 yrs. when i brought him home. long story-got sick in jan.2008. almost left the planet. had people keep joker , finally brought him home in july. it took him a couple of weeks, but now it's like he has been here since puppyhood. jack, i had his mother, so i have kind of had him before he was born. as for showing, your very best bet would be to contact the breeder you got her from and get her input. i checked out the kennel she came from and was pleasantly surprised. nice dogs and she is into showing. call her and talk to her and allow her to be your mentor. then after you listen to her and take her advice, then listen to the rest of us. if you go to show friends and up top where they have discussions, you will see one that i answered. i think my answer scared the people, but i put it right on the table. alot of people watch dog shows on t.v. and think ther is nothing to it. surprise!!! that is so far from the truth. but, no matter what, i encourage people that are serious and tell them to plan at least a solid two year commitment to this adventure of showing, no matter what avenue you take. it looks like there are lots of corgis out there. talk and listen to those people that show. get involved in the local club. if there's any corgi clubs ther, joi n up. but remember, not all the people are going to be straight with you. when you first start, it's a lot of hit and miss. i could go on, but we can take this a little at a time. also, cindy wrote some excellent stuff on show friends. please do not be offended. we are just trying to help. hope this helps and feel free to ask me anything. take care. hug to baby

so, who is gigi out of and are they on the cupid website. i was very impressed when i went there. she has a known handler for her dogs. and, just a hint-- just because she seems quiet now, does not mean you shouldn't do like agility or herding with her. i phsyically can't do things like that, but i think joker would be great in herding and agility. this dog can make turns like haip-pin sharp and has mega speed- your's is still a little squirt and i think- but not for sure- they don't start young pups in the agilty training. maybe some light stuff but nothing more. their little bodies are still growing and developing and so the agility trainers are very cautious. get her into puppy classes. and as a past obeidience intotor, if the trainer seems to be doing something you are not comfortable with, tell them no. the obience training today is soo different than when my folks first got into it. i still do not believe in treat training, due to the fact the dog responds to food instead of the owner and what happens when you don't have a treat handy??? boom- any smart dog picks up on this and there goes your training. the best reward is a scratch on the head and being told what a good dog they are. i think with the right guidence, you'll be just fine. like i said, contact her breeder and get their input as to which way to go with gigi. take care and will talk to you later.

Thanks for the wonderful comment. The English Bulldog is not our dog. It's our close friend's dog and we often dog sit for them when they travel. His name is Cooper.

    Kenji says "Hello GiGi!!".

you're welcome! I understand. The pomeranian in my pics is my cousin's dog. She brings him over sometimes so both of our dogs can be socialized (:

    GiGi says "Hello Kenji!" lol

I just contacted Cupidskiss Kennel and they are waiting for a deposit for the last female. The man seemed very nice and told me he will contact me either way. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll let you know if it works out!

  • mia, herky, & kim

Hi! I was cruising thru looking at all the great pix and saw cupids kiss kennel.  That is where we got Mia and Herky!  I think you have their sister! I remember looking every day at the website and seeing someone from NH had bought.  We could hardly wait to pick them up back in October.  You are sooo lucky to have the corgi get togethers.  I have not found anything like that here.  Your GiGi is a darling!  Don't they grow sooo fast?  How old was she when you got her?  Did you come here or did they ship?  It was about an hour drive for us. They were very nice and I couldn't help thinking how fun it would be to have all those pups, but I would hate to let them go!
  • mia, herky, & kim

I think they were born on August6th cuz we picked up mia and herky on october 1, at 8 weeks.  Mia is quite a bit smaller than herky. he is 17lbs and mia 12lbs.  herky has much thicker fluffy hair, where mia has a not as thick, smoother coat.  both love outside in the snow and are outside right now, even tho it is very cold out. Will you be getting gigi fixed?  I have been reading about the pros and cons from people here on mycorgi. we have never had a female before, all males!  I think we are going to go ahead in about a month, she will be 6 months at that time.

I'm so happy to have found a sister. I looked at cupids website every day to see the puppies.  I wanted to get them all!  herky and mia send kisses to their sis!
