Have had R & W Pembrokes my whole life, usually in pairs. Lucy, our now 5-yr old charmer, is a delight and keeps us laughing. We purposely picked a petite girl so that we could fly with her in the passenger cabin. We had our maiden voyage CA to NY (w. Lucy in the largest sized airline approved sherpa) and we all survived––esp. me, with the help of a bloody mary!

Fast forward a year and we re-homed a tri-male puppy who would have been in the pound if we didn't intervene. He had been left alone basically 24/7 in a backyard, and was all ribs and ears. He was a handful and the most difficult corgi I had ever owned. I don't know who was more upset by the decision to keep him, Jack, my husband, or Lucy. But all things happen for a reason. He's a wonderful, gentle and loyal corgi and we're all in love with him, including Lucy, (most of the time!), haha. RR turned 1 yo this month & surprised us all by becoming quite the looker. Lucy is 5. RR is twice her size, Everyone thinks that she's the puppy. Ya gotta love happy endings!!!

    Hi, Wendy - My Havanese's name is Toby.  Is is barely 9 lbs and though he is a furry little guy, he doesn't shed.  With Molly and Gavin around, we couldn't get another shedder though I was sad to not get a 3rd Corgi.  They are the cutest dogs...but don't tell Toby I said that!

    Thanks!  These are my first always had large dogs.  Fell in love with the breed when I was given Thumper.  Now I can't stop!  I added a pic of Chewy when he was a baby I have to figure out how to add more pics of the others.  Your babies are cute!!!  I love the ears!

    Thank ya! His official name is Bear, but we tend to call him bug.  The squirrel obsession is pretty intense, and will lead to the crying and going outside just to stare up in the tree.  But in his defense we have a squirrel that torments him and will walk right up to our patio door when bug is inside and just sit in front of him and eat.   I'll have to post a video.  How old are you corgis?!

    I always had cats but my wanted a dog, since she had one before.

    They are great friends. Not sure about other dogs but Corgis are the best pals! :-)

    Thanks! I will let Molly know you said she's pretty; she is definitely the hot mama at our house.  Rules the roost!  Molly is my worker.  She is very typical of the breed, constantly keeping an eye on things, making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be, and if not working, wants to fetch, catch, play or something like that.  Gavin (we think that he is a few cards shy of a full deck) is a love.  Just wants to sit in your lap and be cuddled.  He's 3 years old and still isn't quite sure what to do with the ball when he chases it, but he does provide hours of giggles for our family because he's so silly.  Toby, at 1 year old, pretty much drives the Corgis crazy.  He's super affectionate and playful and is always sneaking up on them and pouncing or playing.  Molly would wipe him out if she felt like it, but most of the time she's pretty tolerant.  I think that sometimes Gavin just does whatever Toby tells him to do.  He's pretty agreeable. :)

    I'll be dealing with intellectual property matters, so trademarks and copyrights, and also doing some contract reviewing. So it's still legal stuff, but I think the subject matter will be more interesting and I'll be in a creative environment! I'm trying to get into the legal/business side of the arts...since I lack actual artistic talent lol but love it all the same. I think it will be fun to be part of a creative and artistic endeavor, and to help artists get their ideas out there and just generally facilitate the exchange of ideas and expression :) And it's only part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with Schatzi in the city!! My boyfriend and I are already planning on all the places we can take her :)

    I would love to get the name of your breeder in Oakland.  We are in Danville, about 30 minutes from Oakland.  It took us quite awhile to find Chester.  When I'm having a hard day I am not feeling very patient about getting another corgi into our home - but you are right about all things in their time!

    Thanks so much, Wendy!  I just called and Tim was out, but I talked to a delightful lady who is a breeder visiting him from New Zealand.  They are all going to a Specialty at Los Gatos this weekend.  She said he does have puppies now, but she does not know if they are all spoken for.  He will call me back when he is able.  I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed!!

    Thank you so much :) Wrigley was actually raised by our first corgi girl Sugar and when we lost her last fall he was at a loss. He had no idea how to make choices on his own lol! Poor guy is the most submissive dog I have ever seen! He does just fine with Gabby being the bossiest girl in the world lol. Sometimes I just wish he would defend himself just a little. He is 3 and she is 4. I love your babies! They are just gorgeous!

    HAHA well, I wanted to find a medium size dog, and it just so happened I came across a posting in the classifieds about a family having a new litter of corgi puppies. I definitely tell myself it was meant to be. And regarding the name, Yumi actually means corn in Chinese; when I first brought him home, my grandma said he looked like a small cob of corn with feet - the name stuck ever since. What drew you to corgis?

    I built that all that equipment my self. You can buy it on eBay but I found it was cheaper just to buy the PVC pipe and glue it my self lol. I can scan and email you the plans I have if you want. It was a learning process lol. You know I find after we have been out there playing and working he is much calmer. We just got back from our agility class and he is passed out. He ate dinner and just got on my bed and went to sleep. Let me know if you want the plans. I would be more then happy to share them

    Thank so much. It's amazing either you get one that loves cuddles or one that doesn't. I've tried to avoid cuddling her and see whether she misses it. No reaction from her =) so I'm back at nagging her for cuddles. And definitely agree with you with their sleeping. I'm not sure whether it's the bed thats making her uncomfortable thats forced her to sleep a certain way or whether she is actually comfortable sleeping the way she is =) But definitely entertaining.

    How old is Lucy and Rafa? They are gorgeous =) If you have any advice or tips please let me know as I'm still learning with my corgi and her food is still a trial and error. Shes quite fussy with her food =)

    It's a long story why she couldn't keep Andy anymore but the short story is she came here from Russia, got Andy when he was 8 weeks old, married an OLDER man here in the USA and he didn't want Andy in HIS house so she relunctantly gave him up. I know, I know, I would have gotten rid of the husband myself, but that's me. I'm just glad I was the one to get Andy. He is the sweetest and funniest little guy. . . .I honestly don't understand "humans". . . .
