We adopted our little cute guy Jeter last June(June 13th 2009) from lakeshore pembroke welsh corgi rescue. He is a smart , nice, fast and goofy boy. Even though his early life was not good (foster mommy said he was from puppy mill and abused) , but from day one with us he became a happy happy corgi.
Yes, he named after Derek Jeter :-)

We added the second corgi on Jun18th 2010. This beautiful red and white corgi puppy is Jeter's new baby sister. Her name is Cappy from captain.

    Hey Chris thanks for the pic of Riley-- I gotta get my camera and get the pics loaded yet that I took at the picnic...Riley is his normal self today he just came in from outside-- he always looks for the squirrels and has to chase them down the fence..lolol But Riley says he would love to get together again and play with Jeter...

    Wow that is impressive that you just started last year and you already have half marathons and a marathon under your belt! That gives me some inspiration! I am not interested in being super fast - I am content to be slow. I just want to enjoy running for the physical and therapeutic benefits. If I enter races the satisfaction will come from completing them. You'll have to let us know how the marathon on the 11th goes - coming up soon!

    I am going to look for a race to sign up for when I complete to C25K so I can experience the atmosphere and the satisfaction of finishing!

    Congrats on being a marathoner! (again) That is truly a great accomplishment - no matter that your finishing time is. I am on week 5 of C25k and still really enjoying it. I signed up for a 5k (Dec 13th)

    Thank you for remembering about my 5k. I actually have it tomorrow morning and I am really looking forward to it! I successfully ran 3 miles for the first time on Monday so I feel pretty ready! Just need to pace myself. I will miss my little running buddy. Tucker does 3 miles with no problem and still have energy to spare. I haven't been on mycorgi much lately but Tucker is doing great! How is little Jeter doing? Hope you are all great!

    It was supp to be the 13th - but I have friends visiting for the weekend so I switched to a different Jingle Bell run on Saturday morning so I can relax with them and not have to drag them out in the cold to watch :)

    Congrats to Jeter for graduating from obedience class! Tucker finished his first level a couple of months ago. I am debating whether to sign up for another one. He is such a good boy :) I feel like we really lucked out. So cute wtih the boot and the snow gear. I have considered getting Tucker booties - he does loves the cold and the snow. Maybe I will look into that. Hope you enjoy your weekend! :) Thanks again for the message.

    My precious Riley has passed away May 4,2010.He was very ill with diabetes and his kidneys were shutting down..He is now in doggie heaven..I love you Riley-you were truly my best friend and we will miss you..

    I was told that the 2010 picnic got canceled.

    So were you at the Freeport one in 2009?

    I am new here so I might be mixed up.  I joined at the end of July this year.  I became interested in MyCorgi when I heard there were Corgi picnics.  I attended the Wisconsin picnic on Juy 23 and they convinced me to join.  I thought I would join just to share the pictures I took at their picnic and then I got to thinking that there must be an Illinois picnic and he rest is history.

    I can't wait to see Freeport.  It sounds wonderful.  The dog park here is not so great, but I guess I am glad there is one.  My Corgis love to run and play with the other dogs, so I know they will have a great time.  See you soon.

    Sunday you told me about a place in NC to stay with the dogs.  Was that Barkwood? 

    I found a Barkwood Cabin that takes dogs, but it did not mention a fenced in yard, etc.   Please send me the information.
