Thank you for the email.  Yes, I'm interested in adopting a Welsh Pembroke Corgi male between the ages of 1-2 altho I'm flexible on the age.  I left my name at my county's humane society and also keeping an eye on petfinder.  I guess my only question would be, are there any other places to check?

There are two Corgi girls about 2 hours from me at a humane society (I don't know if it's a no kill one or not), but I really wanted a guy.  MaGuire and I had such a good rapport.

The site has really helped with my loss.  I can look at the pictures and enjoy.  Thank you!!

  • Louise Kurtz

Thanks for your prompt reply.  I have done just what you wrote.  Nothing happens and yet I can upload the same picture to the photo section doing the same thing.  A window appears and it is done.

Sam, I want to clue you in on three awesome animal photographers and two of them are Corgi owners. All three of these women are PPA members and Doug has taught all of them. They are Barbara Breitsameter from Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Kathy Brandt ( also a Corgi breeder and shows Corgis) from Lake Villa, Illinois, and Margaret Bryant from Carrollton, Texas. Both Barbara and Margaret have won numerous awards for their pet photography!  Google them and go to the websites! You will enjoy the pics!  Thank-you for allowing me to be a part of My Corgi. com , and as soon as I adopt my Corgi, I will post pics.

Sam, I would never take him to a kill shelter, we had over a foot of snow fall yesterday so he most certainly would have died. My biggest concern is that I dont think he is missing from a good home #1 He has rotted and missing teeth, #2 His ears were terrible, #3 no tags, collar, or anything. I will get him to the vet to check for a chip, but then what (assuming there is not one). Are there any rescues in this area (Northeast Oklahoma)?

    Thanks for your help!

    Sam,

I am having problems replying to e-mail. I also sometime have a hard time leaving a comment.  It takes a while to be able to type anything  Do you think this has anything to do with internet explorer 9 upgrade?  I just tried to send this in an e-mail and it wouldn't let me send it.

    Thanks
    Lynne

  • Lynne Cerny

I haven't had a chance to try it yet.  I'm up so early that I go to bed early too.  I'll let you know!  Thanks

Hey Sam! I have a quick question about the themes for the My Page section: What happened to the old ones? I used to have one where it was like splatter paint in the corner and was light pink. I looked for it and it wasn't there. Could you bring some of them back, including the one I mentioned? That would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Hannah

Thank You for this site ~ it's amazing to see how many people love Corgis as much as I do! Your efforts are a real blessing! :)

Sam, I have some pictures of Maxine that are not digital and I would like to put them on my page but don't know how to do it.( not very computer savvy).  Any suggestions?  Thanks!!

Thanks Sam,  I give it a try.......
  • Anna Morelli

Sam, I'm fairly new to the site and tried to figure out the "give a gift" thing.  I see that  it involves credits,  I'm sure it's all explained somewhere, but I could not find anything.  Can you bring me up to speed?  Thanks also for posting the AKC Therapy Dog info.  I have a Service Dog who assists me with vision and am forever awed by what dogs can do and in how many ways they improve our lives.
  • Anna Morelli

Pardon my ignorance, I'm not familiar with the facebook gifts either.  Do you have anything written up on the sight about it?  I tried the FAQ section before asking you.  I like the proceeds to Corgi Rescue :-)
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

    Thank You!
  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

I love giving gifts in general, but in particular, I love giving gifts that benefit Corgi Rescue.

Sam, you remind me to get better-prepared.

I carry Pawz rubber booties (the balloon thingies, medium, blue), for emergencies.  They can last for several miles, but they fall off, get punctured by a claw and fill with snow, like that.   I found a bootie to carry for emergency.  People mention vet-wrap.

Somebody just posted about a flapper pad injury on wet pavement, that happened to Al once and healed very fast, days.  May have been a pre-existing injury, like a popped blister, but Al was playing soccer on wet pavement.

I've heard of rock climbers using Super Glue to glue knuckle rips back together -- I've heard that stuff was originally developed for closing wounds(?).  We use a type of super glue when we cut off the tail tips of lab mice (no more than a couple millimeters, or we get in big trouble).  But I hardly even cleaned Al's big flapper and it was healed within a week.

Our dogs get sore between the pads in sand or crusty snow, it's quite dramatic.  I've wanted to try Mushers' Secret, but haven't.

  • Lucy & Ricky (Wendy/Jack )

Jack & I are wondering how you know all this stuff. You take one look at a dyson and say "that looks like a Dyson DC07." Our POS Oreck died this week and we were going to buy a Dyson. I was checking out all the models but Jack, aka Mr. Impulsive, just came home with a Miele S7260 cat and dog upright vacuum. Just curious if you or any members know anything about this and how it compares to a Dyson. I know it uses vacuum bags, which I like––less dust. I'd appreciate any comments.

    Hi Sam

Nice looking pictures you have on the MyPage. I have made a small one minute movie from still pictures on Movie Maker in Windows and was wondering if I am able to put that on the website here. I am not on any other social site ie facebook or twitter and thought it would be a good idea to ask first. And how do I go about to do that? Thanks

  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

    Hi Sam,

I added a video and the screen is green and its says its buffering when trying to play.  The video was taken in very low light, is this why the screen is green on the video?  I would have taken the video in more light except, I was in a rush cause I didn't know how long tucker and lance would actually play again today!!

  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

The second upload worked better, thanks!

Was nothing. Just sorry you got so ill. Thanks for the new calendar. The wall hanging calendar looks fabulous. Great choices of Corgis to feature. Speedy recovery.

  • candice sanchez

Thank you for this site! Such an awesome resource! I know for us its helping to prepare for our first corgi, and I know for others it has helped them in giving their corgis a well rounded life. All the different towns and states with groups for corgi owners is amazing! It's been fun finding people with a common interest, and I have enjoyed getting tips from other members. So again, thank you :)
  • Sandi Cannon

    Status on 365 day calendar?

  • Snickmom

Sam: I have a vague idea of adding a group. I asked my small group of MyCorgi friends and they suggested I run it by you. What do you think of adding a group for people who have other breed dogs besides Corgis. Kind of like; how does your corgi differ from your other dog, or how does your corgi like having a different breed in the house, etc. I notice that a lot of people have other breed dogs in their pictures, but don't always include them in the discussions. (kind of like the black sheep of the family). Would you think this would be a good idea, and if so can you suggest a name and description?
