My husband and I will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2011! Have 2 human kids and 2 fur kids. I now have the four kids I've always wanted. :)
Name: Lance
Breed: Cardigan Welsh Corgi(Blue Merle)
Birthday: October 30, 2005.
Current Age: 8 1/2
RIP 5-3-14
Was an only dog for 5 years, but not anymore! Learning about sharing, I hear sharing is good. :) I have corgi buddies already so hopefully it wont be too hard to share with my brother.
Lance is a pure breed cardigan corgi, at the moment he may appear like he is not because his ears are floppy. Lance is dealing with auto immune issues and vasculitis of the ears which affects the blood flow in his ears.
Name: Tucker
Breed: Red and White Pembroke. Was rescued from the
shelter March 6, 2011
Birthday: October 12, 2007
Current Age: 6
Tucker is a sweetheart, seems quite comfy here. :) So glad to be out of the shelter. I was so sweet the first time I met my potential owners I gave them lots of corgi kisses, I stole their hearts. <3
Thanks Natalie, you are very cute as well. My aunt bought me that cool bed. Man, I love the colors of your coat. I browsed through your photos and they are nice. I hope to have a playmate someday...right now it's just me. What are your plans for today? Have a lovely day.
Yeah I agree my aunt is cool. she got my be from a store here in minnesota(I'll inquire about the store when i speak to her and let you know...maybe you can get the same one or even cooler one). Sounds like your mom had a busy week...perfect time for you to crawl up on her lap and you both can relax together. Well, my day was nice...my mom took me for a long walk around the park and I got some new treats(very tasty) and a new toy in addition to my vast collection:). I hope you get some quality time with mommy. Have a splendid day.
Natalie, I just had to share this funny story with you....my husband took Spence to the "spa" for doggy day care last friday for 4 hours, when he went to pick him up, one of the staff told Dave that he would have to wait because Spencer was in the pool (they have baby pools outside for the dogs to splash in)....the groomer was toweling him off! Dave had to call me at work to tell me that one! Hows lance?
hello. yes I did take the wedding pix down. its been hard to see them when I come on here. we have been 'dating' and that too has been difficult for me, emotionally. having him leave me at the end of the night makes me cry. we took abby to the dog beach yesterday. water was warm and she seemed to have fun, but it was exhausting for me...having to keep a dilligent eye on her and then bathe her afterwards...SAND EVERYWHERE!!! Jake and I start marriage counseling on wednesday. at least he's willing to do that. I just hope we move past this soon. I have nightmares every night, my anxiety is thru the roof!! thank God abby loves me so much. she is living up to her name...she is my source of joy!! (as I'm sure your lance is) I've stopped putting her in the crate so she sleeps with me. bad, I know, but having her near me relaxes me during the night hours. and she is a sound sleeper, so *shrug* any new pictures of lance?? or is it as the years go by, the frequency of photos lessens??
yea, i hear ya about the pix all looking the same. i would've taken more at the beach but jake dropped my camera in the sand and now it says "lens error". greeeaaattt!!! at least i got the few i did!!
the therapist we are seeing told me that him agreeing to go is a positive sign. so we'll see. i'm more concerned because she told me (and is the 2nd psychologist to tell me) that my anti-anxiety meds are "fat" pills...i take effexor xr & lexapro daily and over the past year...i've put on a healthy 15 lbs. and it seems no matter how hard i try to work out, the results aren't there. i'm young...my metabolism hasn't slowed yet, so i'm thinking about trying to switch my medication, although now would not be the ideal time to do so, but i have a rather poor self image (which i know affects my relationship with my husband), and being told AGAIN that it's because of the meds...hmm. i've tried doing some research on the web but everything's just message boards. at least for now, abby's so hyper i can take her out and she starts pulling and wants to run, so i've been jogging with her.
I hope that you had a great day back to school. Lance enjoyed your picture of the wedding thank you. :( It is unbelievable what they will do when they get bored.
I understand Holly is the worst paper eater I have seen yet!
Hi Natalie...can't get into my in-box, as usual. Hope you are getting more rested and had a great day at school. I am really overtired and overwhelmed with everything. Only 2 days left to get ready and just found out my car needs work done...don't really have time to take it in but have to. So I may not be on-line for quite awhile.
As for the mystery lady; no-one knows anything.
Take care and have a good time when the kids start.
Joy
Thanks Natalie. I mentioned it to Sam and he said that maybe I had too many messages. I don't think I do, only about 5 pages. Tonight I tried to open one and it just will not open it; I get very frustrated. If you are having the same problem, why don't you mention it to him also? The more the merrier (hopefully)
Getting up at 6:00 is painful. I used to have to when I worked and in the winter I had to get up at 5:30 because the 45 minute commute could be through bad weather.
Now that I don't work I sleep till about 9:00. On the weekends I try to give my husband a break and get up at 6:00 and let the dog out. On those days I feel absolutely awful.
I feel for you...the sacrifices you have to make for kids, eh?
I guess they'll be a lot of adjustments for your family over the next bit...hope everything goes smoothly. Take care, Joy
Monday was teacher day- training etc. Tuesday my students started school. Yes, I agree too early in the morning. My daughter's school starts at 7:30 am. The bus is 6:45 am. YUK!
See yeah, Natalie...I'm off tomorrow. I have just about everything done and am still relatively sane, although very tired. I am going to miss Butter so much...I don't want to be away from him.
Today one of our neighbourhood dog friends (a sweet dog, from before we had Butter) came by to visit. I gave her a biscuit outside. Butter saw me and when I came in the house I gave him 2 baby carrots (remember he is on an allergy diet and can't have biscuits). Well, didn't the little ingrate spit out of his baby carrots and trot right by me, with his head in the air. About 10 minutes later, when he realized that he wasn't getting a biscuit, I saw him sneak back into the kitchen and eat his 2 carrots. Too funny!!! Does your Lance get an attitude like this?
Take care, have a good week with the kids, talk to you later next week. Miss you, Joy
Hi Natalie,
Dave and I have decided to attend the corgi picnic on Sept 20th...hoping you all can make it...I emailed Jenny, it would be nice to meet some fellow Illinois corgi owners!
Sorry you will be gone and can't attend the picnic! Our camera broke yesterday, so I won't be taking a lot of pictures, but we might take a video! Hello to everyone in your family! Maybe we can get together again, before the Chicago winter sets in! Judi
Oh my, Lance is lovely. Now I really see where Uno gets the Corgi. Before it was only his shape, but Lance is very like Uno. Love his beautiful ears too. Does Lance love water? Uno is a nut for playing in water. (as you saw in the video)
Rose
My ankles and toes hurt a bit, but I always feel good when I leave.
Ziggy still hasn't come home yet. I posted flyers and call him at night...also posted a lost cat ad on craigslist.org and check the pounds website every day for found cats and deceased. Still no sign :( But that's cats for you...they run away and sometimes just don't come back.
Natalie,
Things are going well! My students have moderate disabilities and I love working with them. They are too cute and always make me smile. :) How are you? I still have not found the right bed for Holly yet, currently they are sharing Corey's bed. Which is nice of him to share (sometimes).
Well, he is lovely. I have heard some corgi's love water but most don't. Not sure where Uno gets it from, but he spends a good deal of his time in the bathtub. He hops in and plays and waits for me to hear him and come turn the water on.
I hope you are having a good week. We are about to get quite a storm here. If Uno had his way he would play out in it.
Hi Natalie! Thanks for the kind words. Yes, Rudy and Henry are extremely loved - all four of us are big-time animal lovers. I will be sure and check out your page too. Take care, Steve
Hi Natalie! We are fine. I have been fighting some sort of cold/allergies all week. Spencer has been going to the "spa" a couple of times a week so that Dave can rest during the day...he goes for 4 hours (1/2 day). It gives them both a break!
well, unfortunately he is jakes sisters son, and since our relationship is a constant yo yo, I haven't really been involved since the birth... :( I'm hoping he comes around soon....i would love to be there to watch baby tyler grow up. at least I still have my abby...and my dear mycorgi.com friends. altgough, abbys been a nuisance lately!! I think she's hitting the terrible 2's...im trying my hardest to be firm and consistant with her though...take her to parks and we walk every day and play with toys...she's still keepin me on my toes!! I'm sorry for going on....thanks for caring :)
Oh yeah, they get really bossy. One thing about a herding breed, they need LOTS to do. And it's hard on bad weather days. Pretty much you just have to muddle through. If they like to chase, pick up a laser light. Ours love to chase the light and it can wear them out a bit when you can't get outside. Just remember, it's not a trade out for your daily walks! :-)
Hi Natalie, the "me" function is so that you can id yourself when there's another person with the same name, so when you log in everything will look like by "me" but others will only see by "natalie".
Is your dog having puppies any time soon? She is so beautiful I have never seen a corgi that looked like her! She almost looks like a australian shephard and corgi mixed together. Is she a cardigan?
Lance is BEAUTIFUL!! Probably the best looking coloring I've ever seen for a Cardigan. You're lucky :)
& I wish I could of gotten a playmate for Kobi, preferrably Vegas. Vegas was actually my first choice, but decided to go for Kobi instead! Someone bought her though, hopefully she's going to a great home.
We are sorry! I thought right as I sent the message I bet his name is Lance not Natalie. That is crazy someone could think that beautiful dog could have any flaws. When I first saw the photo I thought wow, the blue eyes are amazing!
Hi Natalie, How are you and Lance? Butter got really sick on his Duck food...so we are switching... I was up all last night with him. You have some beautiful pictures of Lance...the one with him and the soccer ball should be blown up, framed and on someone's wall for all to see. Joy
Thank you for your imput we appreciate it. I believe his time may be near he has developed a tumor on his leg and is starting to limp. Life really sucks sometimes this is so hard!
Hi Natalie!
Dave, Spencer and I attended the picnic yesterday and had a great time!!! Your name came up several times....everyone wished you could have been there with Lance. I met Jenny and Ziggy!!!! We thought maybe the 3 of us could get together at my house for some frapping! Jenny is in the city and you are south of me, so my house seemed like the logical meeting place....would you be interested? She and Ziggy are great.....I posted some pictures. Lots of really nice people and adorable corgis!!!! I met Cookie's family...what a nice family...maybe they could come as well. Hope you had a great weekend! We missed u
Yes of course you can bring your husband! We just had a cedar fence installed this spring, so no chance of the puppies getting out! Maybe a sunday afternoon would work for everyone, probably easiest because I think most Saturday's are hectic for folks.
This has really made me want to find a cure for cancer! It is evil it's like each day I see him there are more spots I feel like its eating him alive. This is painful to see...
Thanks for your comments:)
