My name is Kaijuu Le (aka Monster), my mommy, linda loves me very much! mommy spoils me with expensive dog treats! i like to bother grandma whenever i don't get attention, and steal beg grandpa with those puppy eyes for some human treats.I was born on March 25, 2007, in wheatland ca. I'm part of a champion blood line, akc approved =)
I enjoy talking to my family but its very frustrating because they dont understand me! I like to sleep on my back with my legs wide open, no shame at all! I snore really load and i talk in my sleep! I also sigh a lot whenever I don't approve of mommy's shopping habits.
i love beds, pillow, blankets, basically anything that is big, soft, and fluffy. for my naps i like to sleep under mommy's table, and at night i sleep in my crate with my favorite green blankie.
He is adorable! Dont you just love having him? Our Chester is 11months and I cant remember not having him around. He has such a strong and fun presence in our house.
Thanks for the suggestion! Did you have problem with Flickr batch import or upload from home? You can delete any of the duplicates any time, what other edit problems are you experiencing?
=D hahah thanks. kajuju's a cutie. I haven't gone out clothes shopping for bailey much, except picking up that red jacket in our pictures at target - it was on clearance for $4.00 - how could i resist!?!?! .
thought id let you know petsmart is having a clearnace on clothes now! and its shirts and cute other things for as low as 2.49 and as high as only 5.00!!!! =D must go.. i bought three shirts for bailey. hahahahah
Trying to wet a corgi to cool it is like trying to wet a duck, but here's how to do it when you cannot immerse the animal or when you have limited water (this will get you wet, too; it's messy):
Sit down with your legs out straight. Put the dog on top of your legs, on its back. Pour water over its belly and really rub it in.
Almost the only time I have to wait for our corgis while hiking is when they get hot in the sun above timberline. They start seeking any shade they can find. They're tris, dark black backs. I try to find some snow and make a "corgicicle" -- I just pack 'em in snow and they seem to love this.
Heya! Mei actually has a couple crates. She prefers the couch though ;D
I've only taken Mei on United Airlines cuz it was the only carrier I knew of that did nonstop flights that allowed animals. Are you gonna travel with Kaijuu? I actually give her anti-anxiety pills, not allergy meds. Haha...it's acepromazine. Depending on the dosage you get you, you might need to cut the tablet in half. You can buy it for pretty cheap on 1800petmeds.com. It was 50 cents a pill, whereas the vet charged me $20 for 3. Make sure you try it out on him at home first in case he has any bad reaction to it. You don't want to give it to him for the first time when he's about to get on a plane.
Let me know if you have any other questions! I've become quite a pro at Corgi flying ;D
I totally got the wrong date for the mountian view meet up its actually on the 19th which is Saturday! that's what happens when you don't look at the calender!! ha ha well please come if you can!!
like my new profile pic? lol. makes me crack up.. shows how much of a character he is.
on the bang bang trick, u have to get them to lay down first (sorry!). but of course make hte whole experience fun by involving plenty of treats and YAYs and GOOD BOY's. =P once hes ok with that, i held the treat behind his head and kinda moved it over his back and i helped him (nudging him to get on his back if needed) and then told him to wait once his back hit the ground. then i release him by saying OK and he pops up. haha. it ook some time, but if you practice, hell get it. corgis are smart!
hope that helps. it wasnt the easiest trick to learn. but crawl was harder!
they have one day year where you can bring your dogs to a baseball game! both franchises in the bay area (sf giants and oakland a's) have a "dog day sof summer event". you can dress up your dog, bring them ina nd they get goodies and get to sit with you in the bleachers to watch the game. you have to look in it next summer! its always during the month of august! =P come next year!!! were making it a tradition. bailey will go to every one (at least for the Giants!)
Actually, he's about ~25lbs and he's almost 11 mos. I think that's normal? I've seen some corgis older than him who aren't nearly as "round". Kaijuu is definitely a big guy!
yay! glad to hear that, now you have to put up a video so i can see! lol.
yepp bailey jumps on anyone who says Hi to him. He won't jump on people who ignore him or walk strangely slow (like old ladies). He's really good about kids though - he hasn't jumped on my cousins. =P
Glad you guys are going to the corgi faire again this year! We aren't sure if we'll be around, but definitely bring a costume, it was hilarious seeing these little guys all dressed up :D Be careful of the "eating contest" though, last year I think they had the dogs eat chocolate and grapes among other things, which I thought dogs aren't supposed to eat :( Be safe and have fun!!
Yes their coat comes back when you shave them. Its lasts quite a while though and it is awesome because there is zero shedding until it completely grows back. We shaved Cody in the beginning of August when it was just so hot and his shedding was out of control. Its almost 3 months later and his coat is still not shedding yet because the thick overcoat has still not come back yet. His normal looking coat is fully back though its just not as thick. So he looks normal now but isn't shedding which is great. I would recommend shaving your Corgi to anyone who hasn't ever done it or has a problem with the shedding. I would do it in the summer or at least when its hot if you live in a cold climate though. It is soooo funny to see your dog shaved when you are used to seeing him in his full coat all the time. I think they know when they are shaved too! Cody acts so funny and crazy the first couple days because he doesn't know where all his fur went!
Hi Linda...I just wanted to let you know that I have a litter which will be ready for placement in new homes on December 10. We are going to bring them to the Corgi Faire in Dixon so maybe you can check them out! (I'm glad kaijuu is ok from her illness...Elphie had pancreatitis last year with similar symptom - scary!)
wooohooo! I can't wait! I have been thinking that this weekend I might put up some new pics and personality descriptions (now that they are getting personalities). The Corgi Faire is gonna be so fun! Yay!
howdy, yes, they will be akc. i will know more after they are born regarding show vs pet quality and plan on docking al tails unless someone specifically asks me not to on their pup. i think i will be keeping one from this litter.
How does it feel? Bittersweet. lol. It was the best feeling seeing the birth and raising them for the 8 weeks. However, the process of finding them new homes sucks. I mean if I had a big enough space I'd prefer to keep them all. Just the thought of what the pups had to go through as we seperated them from each other is painful. But then again, a couple of their new owners are good close friends therefore I know I'll be seeing them soon.
We have actually spoke briefly to another member on this sight out of stockton that is having another litter near january 1st. May be talking to hear again. We are in Reno and you don't see many corgi's, so to find a good breeder is hard. We got Chloe from a first time breeder in Susanville, CA. She wasn't very experienced in breeding, but our pup turned out just great! If you have any suggestions or know anyone who does, it would be great!
Hi! yeah i was at the meet up! there were so many there!!! I don't think i saw you i left around 11:15 though. I saw Rabbit! Mochi was the really really Nosey Girl with the white dot right on the back of her neck. maybe next time we'll meet!
We brought Emi to Bean Hollow State Beach in Half Moon Bay (I think)--dog friendly. Kaijuu would have a blast, knowing corgis love to dig--which is exactly what Emi did. She started digging, got excited and ran away, then back to her spot, leaving sand all over her face! Hopefully Kaijuu is more braver with water, Emi is a wimp--she barked at the waves!
Hi there! I think I saw Kaijuu (and you of course) at the Corgi Faire today. I recognized him from browsing mycorgi. He's even cuter in person than in his pictures! Did you and Kaijuu compete at all today?
