This is our first Pembroke Welsh Corgi. His name is Cody and was born on Aug. 17, 2007. He has major "car coma" and sleeps in the car on long trips to Austin and Dallas. He likes to look at us with the corner of his eyes instead of turning his whole head when we call him. Very energetic and not afraid of other dogs at the dog park. He enjoys chewing on table legs, end of my bed, SHOES!!!, and his toys which last no more than 2 weeks. Also we noticed he doesn't like to eat chicken in his food and only the beef and steak flavored ones.
Lately we have been going on jogs together to get all cody's energy out. he loves it.
Welcome to the group! Cody is a cutie! I went through Air Force Basic Training back in '82. I almost bought a friend's house there a number of years ago but at that point San Antonio had gotten much too big for me. It no longer had the small town feeling anymore that I had grown to love. The RiverWalk is a great place - love the all candy store.
Momo was more than a year old by the time I took him to the beach. He got special shots that protect him from the outdoors. You might want to talk to Cody's vet to get more info about those types of shots and when the best time would be to take him to the beach. Have fun!!!
Cute corgi! Mine was born one month before yours! I'm thinking about moving down to harlingen in south texas. Let me know if you decide to have a meet!
Hi Cory and Adri, Thank you for your compliments :) If ignoring doesn't work, you can get a little gardening squirt bottle and that should do it. I used the same method in trainning my pups not to bark at the blender and breaking up a fight. Another other method is a mini airhorn, you can get one from walmart and that should catch his attention. Let me know how it goes!
Your right on with your comments on the election and the fact that many in our country do treat this like a foot ball game or a rally. However when you look at historical elections they used to have parades starting at Midnight to gather people, hand out torches and ballots together as one, free food all around it was an entire gathering for a city to go out and vote with representatives from either party and supporters there handing out the beer next to one another.
I do think that there needs to be a bit of fun in all of this especially when so many people aren't voting. However I do believe that there is less "honor" and "gentlemanly" behavior. I'd hate to see a riot break out at something like that.
