My wife and I love our corgi. He has been in love with my wife from day one, but has decided I'm ok too. There's no question that he's a mommy's boy.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Zed is a male, red-headed, Tri-Color Pembroke. My wife and I rescued him from a shelter in Gainsville, TX in May 2007 (He's an OLD man). Zed was picked up as a stray and had been at the shelter for a while. Once he came home he had some heartworm issues but he's all better now. He has been a great dog.
Zed is very people-centric and loves the ladies (human and K9). He's still a little skittish around men, but has opened up to a select few. He enjoys being outside but not when it is wet. He loves to play ball and going for walks in the park.
Zed gets along well with other dogs. He loves to wrestle with his german shepherd cousins at family gatherings. He ranges from indifferent to interested in cats, depending on if the cat seems scared of him or not. His general rule of thumb with other animals is, if it runs from me I will chase it (especially if it is a squirrel).
Zed is getting better about having his picture taken. He does not like the camera and knows when you're trying to take a picture of him. You have to catch him on one of his good days to avoid the dreaded pout.
Thanks for the heads up. Right now, he is quite the package. He bites me on a regular basis when he gets angry with me or too playful. He also "attacks" me and has ripped countless shirts and pants. He does not respect me, and I love him so much. He's even been through 16 weeks of obedience training! He has a mind of his own and I need to command that mind!
Thank you! Zed sounds like quite the ladies man. hehe..
I am now wanting a tri-color Corgi. I think they are too cute.
Happy Stair Climbing Zed! Our Duke had a hard time getting used to stairs when we first brought him home. and we have not heard him howl either. Maybe it's a Corgi thing. He hardly ever barks unless he's chasing you around the kitchen or hears a funny noise. :-)
Well we actually still live in England but we are moving to Fort Worth next month(my hometown). Your Pup is so cute. We really want to breed Poppy do you know anyone who has a male corgi that is not fixed in the DFW area?
Thanks so much for the comments, because from Zed's pictures I saw COCO is there?! They are so alike, just like twin. I can not believe my eyes. I should put more COCO'S pictures here, then we can share with each other. I really likes Zed's mom's art pictues too. I will show these pictures to my daughter, hope these pictures will give her more hint then she would like draw more corgi's pictures. Also hope one day COCO can meet with ZED, that would be so fun for them!
Thank You for the compliment on Lance. Thank you again, yes we are excited the Cubs won the NL Central, lets hope they can win the World Series, I really hope so, I really am getting so tired about all the comments on how its been 100 years!!! Its not like the same players have been around for 100 years! The White Sox have had their turn now it is the Cubs turn!
How much does Zed weigh? yes, Rueben is alot of fun! Not a day goes by that he doesn't make us laugh. Yep, he's a momma's boy. My family tells me that he mopes when I'm not home and immediately becomes a different dog when I'm around. Geez, if only I could get my family to act like that! :)
Do you have an estimate of how old Zed is? I swear I have one of his litter mates. My Archie is almost his twin! Coloring, expressions, behaviour, are all similar. Archie HATES having his picture taken. I got him and my other Corgi, Fiona, from a breeder in Roby, TX. Both dogs are 5 yrs old, born 2 days apart in June. Looking at Zed us so much like looking at Archie!
