I'm originally from Ingleside, TX, a small naval town along the southeast Gulf Coast. I moved to Austin in 2002 to attend the University of Texas, where I receive a BA in History in 2006. I'm hoping to start graduate classes in Art Education at UT in the fall of 2008. Until then, I'm working as a Contractor for the Department of Veterans Affairs Financial Services Center (boring desk job). My boyfriend of 5 years, Jason, is also from my hometown. He moved to Austin for me(!) in 2006 and he is now the bar manager at Plucker's Sports Bar in Round Rock
About My Corgi(s):
My Corgi picked me! He was the only one in his litter who let me lay him on his back & rub his tubby belly. That's how I knew he was the one for me. He is the son of Roxie (AKC: Moment of Weakness) and Ty (AKC: Lapse of Memory) in Conroe, TX. His full name is Duke James Pembroke-Ladrido Luce-Wilson, AKC: The Duke of Chardonnay. His nicknames include: Sugar Bunny, Bunny Butt, Dukie Du, and The Duke Duke. He has red hair & brown eyes, just like his human daddy... and short, white legs, just like his human mommy. He is VERY friendly... annoyingly vocal... and absolutely adorable.
corgis everywhere!/....i almost went to live in austin, but was there only 3 wks... it was HOT..was there in july...here is a picture of me in austin, right where i lived with mum n dad in the apt,downtown!
yes, you gotta take your corgi about town....austin is such a friendly place, and kaley would have been the neighborhood star there fur sure!....
when you take your pics, share them on the flickr group...corgis of the world unite...thousands of corgi kids...we all just have to brag and show off.....
omg shaving him was frightening to try, but it turned out to be the best decision i've made. There was no more shedding, he didn't look goofy, he actually looked lean and really good. And the best part was there was no more white hairs all over my clothes and furniture. he now gets regular haircuts with his grooming.
I just wanted to let you know I started a corgi meet up group and would really enjoy meeting new corgies and their parents in this area. Our first meet up will be August 10 at the Round Rock dog park if you would like to join us. :)
I didn't see any mention of the Mighty Texas Dog Walk in the Austin group. I'm not a member so I'm unable to post a link, there's a discussion about it in Corgis in Texas. http://www.mycorgi.com/group/corgisintexas
