I have three teenage kids and I just love being a Mom to a Corgi also! I live in sunny Southern California with the three kids, three dogs, two cats and a most wonderful husband.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Sidney is our first purebred corgi and we are thrilled to have him. He was born 7/11/07. We planned to start him in agility training, but there was a long waiting list. So while waiting for an opening, we took classes for therapy dog training. As it turns out, he's a pretty good therapy dog, so we stuck with that and never got around to agility. Now he is training as a Rally dog. We love it! He's one smart little character! Oh, and he's undocked, so his beautiful tail attracts a lot of attention - good attention.
On August 30th, Sidney suddenly came up lame in his hind left leg. The next day we got xrays for him and found out he has severe hip dysplasia. On Sept 7th he had a Femoral Head Ostectomy to relieve the pain. His right hip is not in great shape either but we're hoping that with glucosamine supplements and exercise we can keep it healthy. *Update* You would never know Sid has surgery now. He moves beautifully. The water therapy and supplements have worked wonders.
Bruce is our corgi/elkhound (?) mix. We rescued him from the brink of euthanasia when he was approximately 10-11 years old (he had a day or two left to go). He's about 16 now and his only sign of his advanced age are bad teeth and slow mornings. I adore Brucie and he worships me. He's my funny short angel with a puffball tail (thanks to the elkhound side). He's about 18 now and going strong.
Chester is our "tall dog". He's a black dane/lab mix that we got from a "free to good home" ad in the local newspaper. He's also old, about 15 years old. We know his age because we've had him 14 years, and he was an adult when we brought him home! He's a very serious dog and not very affectionate compared to the corgis, but he has been a very good dog, just aloof. We can't take Chester as many places as the shorties because he does not travel well. He's almost 17 now and has definitely slowed down. *UPDATE* Chester had a sudden decline and was sent to the bridge on April 15th 2013 at the age of 17.
In February 2013 we added Connie to our family. She's a little tri corgi who was picked up as a stray and put up for adoption at our local Humane Society. She's a real sweet girl and loves to play ball. She's learning a lot from Sidney about life here. We can't believe that her family never came to claim her. She's got good manners and she gets along well with the other dogs and the cats, and everyone she meets is her best friend.
And the pack grows! In November we took in a black-headed tri who we named Copper. He and Connie were both born in 2009 and they are great buddies and a ball-chasing tag team. Copper is sweet and cuddly and eager to please.
Did you have any problems introducing your corgi with your other dogs? I too, have two senior dogs, 14 and 15. We call them the "good girls". They are wonderful dogs. I am mentally planning their introduction to baby Yoli and wonder if you can offer your experience. Thanks!
Thankyou for writing to us , I think its fun sharing your joy of having a lovely Corgi with people who love them too. Cariad is a red&white Bitch with a tail, which she carries like a little Arial up in the Air when she is in the ring or going out. She is so smart and knows how to wrap our BCs around her little paws.
We love this little Pixi to bits, she is also very successful at Champshows.
Kind Regards

sorry as I was saying before my computer kicked me off (very rude) I have two Corgi's "Winnie " is my little girl she will be three on November 14 and " Tucker " is our little guy he will be 1 year old on November 7! Love them cant imagine this house with out them!
Thanks Geri and Sidney for the welcome! I do so love my Corgis, they are such a wonderful breed! You know they are so smart and intelligent. I love to hear mine talk. Everybody always comments on how vocal they are. I swear they can actually understand when we spell out words!
Thanks for the kind welcome. My corgi's name is Pixel, because compared to our Newf, he was just a little dot when we got him. After being raised by Dax (the newf), Pixel thinks he is a water dog and happily will jump in and swim, run through puddles, go kayaking with my husband, and will chase the hose water in the yard. What fun! I've added pictures of him on my page. Pixel is a bluie, and I think he's gorgeous.
My daughter's boyfriend is actually the one who bought her and named her - Luna as in Lunatic or Lunacy lol. She is a great dog and we are really hoping to find friends for her.
Thank you! Well as far as career, the end goal is a stay at home mom. But Chaz and I are not ready for kids yet (we can hardly handle Chips) so I am biding my time at the Wisconsin State Capitol as a tour guide.
Id like to know about the agility training goes, I can get around, but not as fast as a corgi puppy that's for sure!!! Need to get to puppy class tho. Daisy is now 5 months old and in the barking at everything stage.
Yup, that's us :) I haven't heard of another dog named Philip so far hehe. Oh wow, so it was after the photo day for Sidney too? How weird, I wonder if there was some other outside factor to it, maybe the ground wasn't the right firmness or something. Good thing they are both better now!
Thanks for welcoming me to the site, and congratulations on Sidney's certification! Are Sidney and your daughter working independently, or with a therapy dog organization like TDI? I didn't know they existed until recently, but it seems like a nice way to go when you're first starting out. Best of luck to all of you!
Thanks, I love my corgis...in fact, I love everybody's corgis....they are so wonderful/bad/funny/stubborn/intelligent and in general the very bestest of dogs!
Thank you for the welcome to the site. I loved your pics. Gunner's dad Dundee, has a tail. I have to get my page up with pics soon. Have a wedding this weekend, so I am looking at doing it next week.
Thanks for your comment ! Sadie is on the right. From the picture, you would think that she loves her brother. Unfortunately for him, she only loves him when there is no one else at home. Other wise, she wants all of everyone's attention.
Hey Geri! How are you and your little ones? I went to Target tonight and got Sadie a banana costume :) It's a little too big for her but maybe she will grow into it by Halloween. She actually let me try it on her! And she kept the head piece on for 3.5 seconds which is MUCH longer than I thought she would! hehe
Did you get one for Sidney? I also got Sadie the Pumpkin costume just in case she wouldn't tolerate the Banana. I nearly died when I got it on her because it was so cute! And the fact that it was a little bit too big made it even cuter! The last time I tried to put anything on her she flopped around like a fish out of water. This time she just fell over and started biting the costume. She is improving :) Thanks for posting the pic and the place to get the costume!

I love your pictures of the dogs. I have never seen a Pembroke with a tail. He is very handsome. The little white tip is cute.
Thanks for everything!
