My husband and I will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2011! Have 2 human kids and 2 fur kids. I now have the four kids I've always wanted. :)
Name: Lance
Breed: Cardigan Welsh Corgi(Blue Merle)
Birthday: October 30, 2005.
Current Age: 8 1/2
RIP 5-3-14
Was an only dog for 5 years, but not anymore! Learning about sharing, I hear sharing is good. :) I have corgi buddies already so hopefully it wont be too hard to share with my brother.
Lance is a pure breed cardigan corgi, at the moment he may appear like he is not because his ears are floppy. Lance is dealing with auto immune issues and vasculitis of the ears which affects the blood flow in his ears.
Name: Tucker
Breed: Red and White Pembroke. Was rescued from the
shelter March 6, 2011
Birthday: October 12, 2007
Current Age: 6
Tucker is a sweetheart, seems quite comfy here. :) So glad to be out of the shelter. I was so sweet the first time I met my potential owners I gave them lots of corgi kisses, I stole their hearts. <3
Hi Natalie & Lance! Kodi & I went to a Dog show last weekend and he got to play with his sister Ella and his brother Tobi. Both did well showing and they played and played and played! It was very fun. Hope you have a great Labor Day weekend!
Thank you for your birthday wishes! Every day having Ben as my companion is even more special as he is getting older. Dog's lives just aren't long enough, in my opinion. Ben had a fun day eating special treats and lapping up the excitement of being the birthday boy!
Hi Natalie! Thank you for your sweet comments about Sadie's pictures. Did you see my slideshow since I got the new music and added more pics last night at 2 o'clock?!!! I sat here and cried watching it! I had tears like a waterfall. She has grown so much since those pics and SO fast! I get emotional!
I don't believe I received a comment, but I've only been on here for a couple of days, so that's probably why I haven't gotten Lance's pic yet. I just saw Lance's picture on someone else's page and had a major "AW! LOOK AT THAT CORGI!" moment.
Corgis just get to me that way.
But I would like a picture of Lance, I just couldn't wait to tell you how cute I thought he was.
Thanks for the Welcome Natalie! I love Lance's pattern, Having paint horses I always describe dogs with such a wonderful pattern as Paint Doggies. He is really beautiful.
I couldn't believe it either, it was almost fate, if you believe in a thing like that. He also had a brother and sister, tri-color, there. I felt bad we couldn't take them in too, but there were many people ready to adopt the pups there.
Natalie???????? You are my idol because I obviously want to be like you and do everything that you do ;). Where did you get that harness for Lance? The one with the protective chest part. I can only find them for small dogs. Sadie has a sharp chest bone that sticks out and I am afraid of a regular harness.
Hello. I did know about Xylitol because i was making pupcakes one day lol. I found out he didnt get into it i guess he sat on the couch and the pack fell down. Hes really good about not eating stuff because he knows his tummy doesnt agree. I can leave a togo box of steak in the car with him and he wont touch it. Thanks for you help, but i watched him today and he went. :)
Hi Natalie! I keep missing you in the chat room. We are doing great! Hope you are too! You are right! The days fly by WAY too quickly! I can't believe the holidays are right around the corner. My little Sadie takes 2 steps forward and one step back everyday :) I really need to get her to some classes soon. She is such a smart little girl and I need to work with her. My husband did all the training with our Shepherd and Sam was just naturally good and wanted to please us. I can tell Sadie's training is going to be up to me and you remember I said I wanted her to be closer to me so I better get up off my bottom and get to it!
Hi Natalie, how are you and Lance doing? Butter is healing a bit but still can't go on a walk longer than about 10 minutes. I guess that is the way it will be for his lifetime. Too sad... Joy and Butter
Lol, I've licked my finger accidentally after spraying the same bitter spray that you bought and it's super bitter/yucky! However, it was not effective against Ein. He would just lick it up! How's Lance doing? Is the spray working on him?
You are so welcome! Actually ACV is I guess what you would call a natural "cure-all" — it's antibacterial and antifungal, which obviously helps to heal chewed up paws. It restores the skin's PH to help with itchy, scratchy areas. And it also has very high levels of potassium, which def. helps with allergies/the immune system overall. (<--- More than anyone would ever want to know about ACV! ha ha)
Thanks for your comments on my video. They were just WILD and that made me think to use that song. Sadie acted like a little maniac. And she kept herding Dash. She just wanted to be all over him for some reason. Not being mean....just wanted to be all over him :) Just excited I guess. He is only the second dog she has been around since I got her. I need to find her more friends so she will learn to play a litte calmer. Little Dash was SO good and so sweet and he minded everything Kris told him. No obedience training. Just a naturally good dog she said. He is same age as Sadie. I offered to trade but she wouldn't (I was kidding of course). I pity the fool that tries to take my baby from me! LOL
Hi Natalie and Lance!
Is that a picture of you guys on Lake Michigan shoreline? I used to live up in Chicago and worked for the Rueben H Donnelley's field marketing company....so I know the city well.
Natalie, your Corgi, Lance, is without a doubt,... the most beautiful and unigue looking Corgi I have ever seen.
I did not get my first Corgi, Pippi, until I moved back home to Baton Rouge to be with my parents. I cannot imagine having one in Chicago and being able to keep it as active as Pippi liked to be.
Walking it on Michigan Avenue would be frightening for me (scared of him getting stepped on).
BUT, I do have these two best friends of mine that I visit quite often.....and last summer, we walked from their apartment ( 2123 N. Clark Street....RIGHT across the street from where the St. Valentine's Day massacre took place!).....to this neat area along the beach where they have all these cool activities to play around and get a beer or play games, etc.... ....and the dogs would probably love it there.
I am going to be in Baton Rouge a little longer, while my Mom is still alive....and then I am npt sure where I am relocating to.....but it will have to be some place that is Corgi-friendly!
Pippi was my best friend and the love of my life after I broke up with my guy in Chicago!
Best wishes to you and thank you so much for the kind words! Until someone has owned a Corgi.....they do not know what they are missing!
I may be flying out to southern Utah in a few weeks to go hiking, and I will make sure to visit Best Friends again to volunteer for a few days! If I see a rescue Corgi.....he or she might be coming home with me!
Kind Regards,
Merrie Whitlock
