About My Corgi(s):
Sidney is our first purebred corgi and we are thrilled to have him. He was born 7/11/07. We planned to start him in agility training, but there was a long waiting list. So while waiting for an opening, we took classes for therapy dog training. As it turns out, he's a pretty good therapy dog, so we stuck with that and never got around to agility. Now he is training as a Rally dog. We love it! He's one smart little character! Oh, and he's undocked, so his beautiful tail attracts a lot of attention - good attention.

On August 30th, Sidney suddenly came up lame in his hind left leg. The next day we got xrays for him and found out he has severe hip dysplasia. On Sept 7th he had a Femoral Head Ostectomy to relieve the pain. His right hip is not in great shape either but we're hoping that with glucosamine supplements and exercise we can keep it healthy. *Update* You would never know Sid has surgery now. He moves beautifully. The water therapy and supplements have worked wonders.

Bruce is our corgi/elkhound (?) mix. We rescued him from the brink of euthanasia when he was approximately 10-11 years old (he had a day or two left to go). He's about 16 now and his only sign of his advanced age are bad teeth and slow mornings. I adore Brucie and he worships me. He's my funny short angel with a puffball tail (thanks to the elkhound side). He's about 18 now and going strong.

Chester is our "tall dog". He's a black dane/lab mix that we got from a "free to good home" ad in the local newspaper. He's also old, about 15 years old. We know his age because we've had him 14 years, and he was an adult when we brought him home! He's a very serious dog and not very affectionate compared to the corgis, but he has been a very good dog, just aloof. We can't take Chester as many places as the shorties because he does not travel well. He's almost 17 now and has definitely slowed down. *UPDATE* Chester had a sudden decline and was sent to the bridge on April 15th 2013 at the age of 17.

In February 2013 we added Connie to our family. She's a little tri corgi who was picked up as a stray and put up for adoption at our local Humane Society. She's a real sweet girl and loves to play ball. She's learning a lot from Sidney about life here. We can't believe that her family never came to claim her. She's got good manners and she gets along well with the other dogs and the cats, and everyone she meets is her best friend.

And the pack grows! In November we took in a black-headed tri who we named Copper. He and Connie were both born in 2009 and they are great buddies and a ball-chasing tag team. Copper is sweet and cuddly and eager to please.

Thank you for welcoming me! We just picked up our little red Pem girl today. She's 10 Weeks old and has no clue why we keep calling her Penny :) She is taking a nap now and here I am ready to learn more.
  • Tina Dry

Thanks! She is my little shadow! I think she is mixed with bassett hound because of her bark and her feet. I wish I could get more pictures of her but she HATES getting her picture taken so I really have to sneak to get them. Right now she and her "sisters" are worn out from playing in the snow. I could probably get some good pictures now, :)

Because of the spots, I do think it is some kind of a field dog; maybe a spaniel, maybe an English Setter (but then, I would expect a bit more leg) probably a mixed breed? It is early to tell how much of the hanging around me behavior is from being in a shelter for several months, and how much is herding behavior. I just haven't seen much of a field dog in him other than his lovely spots.
  • Barbara Catchings

Hi! Here in Dallas (Garland is a suburb) our dogs have to complete Delta training to be a therapy dog. My Radar is not there yet, but we are working on it!
  • Dave K.

A tailed pembroke? Phenomenal. Beautiful dog you have!
  • Holly W

Hi! Thanks for the welcome! Sidney is precious:) It will be nice to chat with some Corgi people!
  • Linda Nix

Thanks for welcoming us. Love your site. Trying to figure out how to add more photos of Nacho. Am determined not to be intimidated by non-fluffy Corgis -- He's perfect the way he is!
  • Roxana, Ein and Edward

Thanks for your welcome! Our Corgis are actually named after two characters from the Japanese Anime series Cowboy Bebop. Ein is actually the Corgi on the show. Edward is named after the girl he bonds with. We're nerdy around here.
  • Scott Wiley

I will have to get a video, have still shots of them at work. They all have the instincts and want to work, the problem with our females is getting them to slow down and listen, they both get out of control. The younger one is only 8 months old so she is out of control anyway. I will get a video on here so people can see what they are capable of doing, even some of the people in the local Corgi club cannot believe that they really do work. Thanks for the welcome. Joey says woof!!
  • TIffany Farrior

Thanks for the comment I love your pics!!

  • Jessica S

They do look so much alike! He is so cute :-)
  • Kevin, Miiko, & Miso

Sidney's anti-depressant pic is so funny, my fav. I hope he passes his certification test with flying colors. Miso's been a therapy dog for a few months now. It's an hour session twice a month at the hospital. We've also started going to a childrens special needs class. It's unbelievable watching the kids light up as they meet all the friendly dogs.
  • Coby Turner

I made a comment meant for you on someone else's page! Just want to say, thanks for the welcoming note.
  • Tammey & Caven

Hi Geri & Sidney!!! Coby Turner sent me this message and it was like those people (that you don't know) who just walk up to you out in the public and start talking and you just stand there not knowing what to say until you see that little phone thing sticking out of thier ear and you realize that they are talking to someone else and are probable wondering why you are staring at them. Uhhh, I think this was meant for you. (Hope Y'all are well) : Maybe I'll be better at this than Facebook... It's similar, yes? Frankie is mixed with some blue-eyed, longer-legged something or other with a tail. As you can see from the photo, he had a broken leg from rolling down the mountain escaping from at least TWO COYOTES! Not on my watch, but when he lived across the canyon from me. Emily (previous owner) has two other dogs and a cat when she became pregnant and they didn't feel they could handle Frankie anymore, who was a rescue from some industrial section of downtown LA. So, Frankie came to Hollywood, and life is better now. ..and yet he still seems to want to run off. I don't take it personally. Thanks for making me feel welcome.
  • Sadie and Slater

Thank you! Stroszek is the name of one of our favorite director's films and we thought it was fitting. Sidney is so cute!
  • OKIE

Her name is Okie, but soccer is her favorite thing in the world!
  • Elaine Birch

Thanks for the welcome! I will definitely post pictures when we get our pup! Right now we are trying to decide on a breeder.
  • Terri Lambert

Our Teegan was hit and died immediately afterward in our daughter's arms. It was an accident, and all on the thoroughbred farm where my daughter works are heartsick - I am devastated as we helped raise her, but she was our daughter's dog. We are looking to contact the breeder we got
  • Terri Lambert

Thank you for the welcome! To continue the last comment - we are going to contact the breeder we got her from to see when the next litter is due.
  • Sonia Cardoso

    Hello,
Toby is my first Corgi, he is going to be 10 weeks old tomorrow. He is so much fun, I got him as a second dog, my other dog Monty is a sweet Alaskan Malamute-Lab Mix and they have already become best of friends.
They are so much fun to watch interact with eachother.
  • Faye Badgero

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, the apartment is okay. It's me! Right now I am having some difficulty exercising Neko. Hoping this too shall pass.
  • Staci B & Howie

thanks for the welcome, that was nice of you :) Yes accidents are very scary and it happened because I was trying to ease my lab/corgi's anxiety over my schedule change when I went back to school. I had asked my neighbor to take him out for me once a day since I am gone about 9 hours four days a week. She offered to dogsit him since she's home all day. The very first day, my dog darted out her slider door and I spent 6 hrs looking for him before finding out he was hit by a car :(
  • Buddy

    Thanks for the warm welcome!
  • LUCIANA

Thanks!!! look at her "new" ears!!
  • Kim Ryczek

  • Kelli Bausch

Thanks for the welcome! and I know that "shorty" is an affectionate term from my husband because he calls ME shorty also...lol
  • Cheryl Canty

Thank you; Bella (5 month Corgi Pembroke) and Mia (3 month Corgi Pembroke) seem like they are playing; but I cannot tell for sure! They are so intense at times; so I tell them No, try to calm them, and give them times apart from each other. But I so want them to be friends! Mia has only been with us one week, and Bella four weeks, so I guess we have time!
  • Cheryl Canty

REALLY??? Oh Thank you! That is exactly what they are doing right now!! Active play, always one on top, low tones, not really growling, but gutteral sounds, pulling at the mouth and ears, and neck... from both of them... is this normal play???
  • Kira and Teddy

Hi there! :) Kira and Teddy are the names for our two corgis. I will be posting some pictures of our little munchkins soon. Thanks so much for the welcome!
  • Jessica & Ion

Thank you! Sidney is very cute with his long tail! And even though Ion is less than a year old he has slow mornings too. Him and my fiance will just lie in bed together while I actually get up and do stuff. :D
  • Linda Chalmers

Thanks for the weldome! the fuzzy butt, thank goodness for the fuzzy butt!
I will be posting some more photos, likely with the butt in tow!

  • Robert Hernandez

    Thank you....on they behalf.
  • Christina and Baby Jack

Thanks! My puppy's name is Jack, after the character from A Nightmare Before Christmas. He was born on Halloween. :) And about the tattoo, thanks! I'm hoping to get more.
  • Sue Reedy

Hi Geri and Sidney: My corg is a sable and white Pembroke with a full shawl of white and four white paws........her name is SKIPPER and she just had a birthday she is 8. Nice to meet you. Sue
  • Sue Reedy

    Thanx you guys.

Very few corgis in this area, so not a whole lot of people to ask about their little quirks......like for instance Skipper, she "talks" all the time. My other corgis never said a word........are your guys real vocal also?
