About My Corgi(s):
My First corgi's name was Algy. He was a black-headed tri-color. On March 24, 2010, after a short time, he finally lost the struggle with lymphoma. He was a good boy, very sweet and low key and always a pleasure to have around. He loved rides and donuts, and popcorn at the park on Lake Ontario. In the summertime, he'd go blueberry picking and steal berries from other people's buckets. We miss him very much.

We now have two new corgis in our lives! Both come from Jane Christensen in Minnesota. Rainy, who now lives the sweet life with my parents, is an absolutely sweet corgi with a very gentle dispostion, and loves to be loved. She will be smothered with a generous helping of that here. Calvin is our newest member and was a rescue that Jane took in and fostered. He is a cardi who missed out on his major window of socialization, but we hope to continue the work that Jane started, and get him out and about. He likes to people watch, but from a safe distance, and boy does he like to cuddle! I hope to have more pictures up of him soon.
I have:
Both Pembroke and Cardigan

Thank you! Your Corgi is a sweety too! :-)
  • Angela

You've got a real cute buddy and you guys are in one of my favorite places too. Went to UB and love the area.
  • Matthew Fernandes

Thanks, and I think Apollo would be in heaven if you did!
  • Angela

Thanks! Our two chocolate friends are Rocky and Sammy and they live back east with my folks. I am looking forward to visiting them next week. Rocky has a degenerative (sp?) muscular condition around his skull, so we're not sure how much longer we might have him. Make the best out of the time you have - right?
  • Patsy Wood-Graven

Thank you so much. I have a brand new litter that is not on the site yet. I usually don;t try to tke pics until 4 weeks, as they change so quickly and are hard to get good pics prior to that age.
    Love your tri.
  • Angela

Thank you - we will gladly take those hugs! Best to you and your family too :0)
  • Susan Stanton

Hi and thanks! Algy is a handsome guy himself. I like the pic of him and his friend, where the friend is howling. What is IMT, the diagnosis Algy has?
  • John, Jessica, and Zeus

    haha thank you

Thank you Joanna and Algy! The dogs loved the school. They just thought they were stars. At first the teachers were really nervous w/the kids crowding them and getting excited but realized the dogs were totally okay w/it and completely under control. I didn't realize it at the time but in one of the pictures you can even see one of the kids sitting on one of them and they didn't care..they were getting all kinds of loving. LOL I left Sian home since I felt it would be a little much for her right now but next time she will have to experience it. I'm just waiting to see more from her at ball parks and stores and such.
  • Jenn

your Corgi is so cute! I saw that you were from Clarence Center in the Upstate NY Corgi group and I thought I'd say hi since i'm from Lancaster. We're almost neighbors!
  • Jenn

I definitely want to be apart of any Corgi-going ons in the area! I have a soon-to-be cousin in law that also has a Corgi. I'll have to let her know!
  • Danielle and Loki

Hi Joanna and Algernon! Thank you for the compliment - Algy is just such a handsome Tri and the photos with the ball were excellent too. Do you know of any Corgi get-togethers in the area? I live in Connecticut but I am close to Westchester. Also, loved the pic with Algy and the howler!! Too funny....
  • Marianne Timko

    Hi Joanna,

Your little one is beautiful. I just love our dogs. They are my life. Corgi hates her swimming therapy but she is such a trooper. She is going in for her last check up on Monday. This has been a trying time for all of us. Thank you for caring.

Thanks for the lovely comments! Arty is a handfull. XD
  • Kathryn Graham

Love to look at the Big Boy Tri's! You have a lovely family; loved seeing Algy dressed up with the hat by the adorable blonde!
  • Anthony Garcia

thank you very much. she is our baby and she pretty much gets everything she wants. she loves swimming and playing in the snow most of all.
  • Dana

Thank you so much for the good wishes.
  • Kristyn Towers

How cute! I love the snow picture!
  • Mary Bledsoe

Oh everytime I look at Algy I laugh! How they pull you in, those brownies just talking up a storm! Brutis is 1 /1/2 years old, looks a lot like Algy. I can honestly say this has been the best time in my life-EVER-being owned by a Corgi.
  • Kristyn Towers

You have a cutie on your hands too :)
  • Mendy Miller

Beautiful markings! What a beautiful dog ( and cute little girl ). Thank you for your comments and support on my dogs. May Algernon be forever young! He reminds me of Petie in looks and type. I bet he has the sweetness too!
  • Mendy Miller

Wink- not so tough on Elliott. He's getting extra ice cubes and home cooked meat and rice mixed in his food for fairness. He'll probably gain two pounds with Peties illness. Believe me- he sees that he gets tit for tat with all the attention being showered on Petie. lol
  • Mendy Miller

Thanks for the birthday wish Algy. We are a little scared or baloons, though. : )
  • Paige and Baxter

Thank you, Joanna! That was the pic from our Christmas card last year! Baxter is wearing his sweater and jiggle bell collar! Algy is ADORABLE!!
  • Angela

Not yet - working on the job situtation first - then corgi soon enough! We can't wait for that day!
  • Wendt Worth Corgi's

Just my opinion, its not the building they live in that matters, its who they are with. I know that if I was to leave and leave my dogs behind thinking they would be happier in this home w/the other family members would not be correct. They would rather be with me no matter where it was and I think my husband would agree. But I am with these guys all the time and I am #1 to them...we have a special bond. But if Algy really likes your parents and doesn't mind you coming and going then maybe your decision is accurate. When your ready for another I am more then willing to talk to you about it. Good luck with the move.
  • Paige and Baxter

Thank you for your sweet words, Joanna. When Baxter looks at me with those eyes it's almost like he's telling me, "thanks for adopting and loving me, Mom"....makes me want to cry, too! It's amazing how our pets can speak to us through their expressions and eyes. We are so lucky to have them in our lives! Paige :)
  • Wendt Worth Corgi's

Awe..thank you very much. 3 miles away is nothing...you'll be able to see him quite often. He'll be good for your father as well. Get settled in and you'll know when the time is right.
  • Shirley, Rhys & Moli

Thank you - Algy is such a handsome guy, his markings & colour are lovely. I love the photo of him in the snow.
  • Lee Moy

Thanks for the welcome. Algy has a very sweet face. I'm sorry to read that he is sick though. My thoughts are with you & Algy.
  • Bev Levy

Thanks! They keep me busy!! How is Algy doing? He really is a great looking guy!
  • Laura Martineau

Hi guys! Did you move yet Joanna? How is Algy doing?
  • Buddy & Wynstan

Thank you so much, I am extremely excited about getting my actual first pet, and ecstatic that is a corgi. I feel in love with one 8 years ago at pet store and have been wanting one ever since.
  • Jane C

Algy looks like a fun guy! I'm so glad he is feeling better. I'll be posting some more pictures soon. Corgi seem to be quite photogenic.
  • Jane C

    Hi Joanna,
Thanks for the welcome. I left you a message a few minutes ago in the wrong place. . .haven't quite figured out the format yet. However, Algy looks like a fun guy and I'm so glad he is feeling better. I'll add some more photos soon. Corgis are so photogenic it is fun to take their pictues.

  • Heide-Marie von der Au

Thank you so much Joanna & Algy
Mimmo arrived in my white '72 Beetle (I have several old cars) - and ever since then that is HER car - she loves all cars though, except my partner's Volvo 144 because it is too noisy with its broken exhaust...! one of my mechanics also has a white Beetle, and Mimms can'r understand why she shoudln't be alloed in that too -
  • Heide-Marie von der Au

    Hi Joanna & Algy
the long-haired one is my fist Corgi-cross - he was a gift from my first husband - the nicest thing he ever gave me....... Foofit (Scampy) was with me for over 15 years........ I was heartbroken when he was overcome by cancer.
It took about 2 years to find another tri-colour adult Corgi (Mimmo) to adopt.
And just 6 months before Foofit went, I lost my Border Collie, Patch - he was also with me for about 15 years...
  • Buddy & Wynstan

I get him at 3:30 on saturday, which is pretty much after work. I am very excited, but I have so many things going on pretty much right up until I pick him up.
  • Kathy Toby &Tyler

Thanks Joanna and Algy! I love helping these special furkids find the best home I can. Merry Corgi Christmas!
  • Wendt Worth Corgi's

Thank you again. Happy New Year!!! For some reason the autumn pictures are my favorite...the fall colors really bring out the coat colors. We were so rushed this fall since the weather was not cooperating or we would of had many more new pictures.
  • Kelly Neidig

    Thank you for your comment!
We first noticed the problem on Thanksgivving. She had a very loose poop and then started dripping dark red blood. Our first thought was that she ate something sharp. The vet ruled that out and also tested her for parvo, cancer, and a few other tests. We live in Japan so the communication is always a problem so I basically researched the disease online.
  • Carol Powers

    Thank you Joanna and Algy!
  • Corgi Mak & Buster McFatty Bear

Sitting Pretty is Buster's favorite trick. If I'm eating something delicious, he always sits pretty right next to me to try and beg for food! XD

    -chill
  • Gromit, Sparkle, and Doug

Glad to see that Algy is hanging in there. As you well know, Corgis never give up the fight easily. He's a fine and handsome fellow!
  • Buddy & Wynstan

If you do find it, give me a price and I will mail you a check!

With Wynstan as our mascot, we might build our base to look like a corgi, and I will dress as a fairy (I am man enough to put on tutu and some fake wings in front of public). At least that is the design I want, since we are a group, we have to decide collectively.

There are just so many ideas on the table right now. Flying shark, a Dungeon and Dragons themed one, and several others. They all involve me plummeting off, which is probably going to hurt.
  • WhiteDove

I am so so sorry for your loss.
  • John Wolff

You're adopting Rainy? Really? That is so cool.
Algy was such a beautiful, beautiful dog. I was hoping someone else would find you soon.
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Congrats on adopting Rainy! Im so happy for you :)
  • Cathy & LadyBug

We are sorry to hear about your loss.
