We live in Melbourne, FL. Roger is retired Air Force. He lived in England and Wales for 35 years. Laurie is a retired health care administrator. We have 3 children and 2 grandkids.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
We have 2 angel Pembroke's, Chepstow and Tenby. We now have 2 Cardigans, Carwyn and Macsen.
So glad everything went well for all of you!!! Will they be a little miffed at you for going away or will they just follow you where ever you go or both??
Sounds great!! I wouldn't mind coming to sit for you guys a bit! especially in January or February!!Ha, Ha! but then my two would be miffed at me!! Not good!! have a great weekend with your boys!!!!
Roger and Laurie, you don't know how tempting that sounds, especially today! It is snowing like crazy here right now......way, way too early, Gem and Ed love it and are going bezerk!!!!!!
Well... If Tenby loves the snow that much then you should come and visit us here sometime!!! The snowplow is just one of many hilarious tricks that Gem and Ed do in the snow! There is also the: try and catch a snowflake(it might be a juicy bug), the eat as much snow as you can b/f we have to go in, the grab a chunk of snow and chase game, the tunnel(usually in Jan or Feb when we have 14in) you get the picture!!! Did you find that little tam yet for Halloween?????
My neighbor gave me this little golfing costume for Edward and it has a little hat with it, but b/f I could get it on him he had chewed through the strap that holds it on so it looks all lopsided on him. Somewhere I have a picture of it I'll have to post! Edward is really doing great! Cast came off and he was still a little tender but that has passed so far!! Took them for a long walk and run today and he seems to be back to his old self! Yes, I don't know whether it's the tri thing or just cuz he's a boy but he is sooo goofy, happy and funny! Nothing bothers him much except for trying to put a costume on him, he tolerates it but voices his discontent the whole time! Warmer here today(5o) but still gray!!!!
Laurie and Roger, Edward would be doing the same as Tenby, trying to jump over a project or get into it! We carved pumpkins and Ed and Gem were both wanting to get into all the goop!!! they are both feet up right now!! We will dress them up tomorrow for tricks and treats!! gem actually loves her spider costume and Ed just trys to get it off her!!! He is a Bee!! Happy Halloween!!!
We had to put our boat away for the season 2 weekends ago and now we are having unusually warm weather and it was 70 today and close to it yesterday!!! plenty other things to do tho, had to get our pond fish out and get them into their winter habitat in our garage(it's heated) and loaded and unloaded and stacked four pick up loads of firewood into our garage!! Wanted to take Ed and Gem out to the lake to check it out, but Ed's incision has a little way to go yet b/f I let them get that dirty!!!! Already missing the Lake but we tend to hike more in the Fall and Winter around our home here, we are fortunate enough to have some woods and places to run the dogs so we just get into that mode now for a few months!!!! Have a great week!!
Hello there! You left me a message at the end of August when we were looking for a Corgi pup in the Cheltenham Gloucestershire area. You were right...there aren't many around, but luckily with Wales on our doorstep I thought I'd let you know that we eventually found a small family dog breeder and we now have Fox, a red and white Pem. He's 11 weeks old and like a small whirlwind. We can't wait to take him out for a walk for the first time on Friday......as his personality has outgrown the house and garden already!! If you know anyone in the Bristol area who is currently looking for a red/white Pem pup, I know of two litters with a reputable lady in mid Wales. What a lovely lifestlye you must have with the lakes. All the best Gilly Leeper.
Roger and Laurie: I went back to our Thanksgiving discussions and saw that you smoke your turkey on your Weber. Sunday, my daughter and I successfully deep fried ours in a Bass Pro Shop turkey fryer. The 11 lb . bird cost 12 bucks. The required peanut oil was $30.00 (filtered after use). But this was the most fabulous turkey I have ever eaten! The project took lots of preparation and precautions - but I've never had turkey as juicy. Your comment has made me think I'll smoke a capon on my Weber too for the weekend. All the best for the holidays from Colonial Williamsburg, Nancy (Bear, Tasha and Linus) P.S. Still have my eyebrows, hair and house.
Hope Roger had a great birthday...we also have a daughter celebrating a January b-day on the 18th. I always think the January birthdays are the greatest because of all the sales and discounts going on now. We have had negative temps and more snow now on the way for tonight and tomorrow. We actually got out on a couple walks today so that is progress!!!
Oh yes, Starbucks cards are great and we gave some Kwik trip gas cards away for presents this year as well...You could always get Roger a portrait of the boys, or maybe make him a sweater out of Corgi hair!
Oh... that is a special present. Where did you come across it again? I love how the Tricolor looks almost as if he has a smirk on his little face! Thanks for sending it along my way.. did you say it is a watercolor painting?
HA HA HA, I am envisioning this. We still have to put the Corgis in their little house(really our whole mudroom)when we leave. I completely trust Gem but Ed is another story!!!!! He is such a goofball...he has been just laying down and rolling in the little bit of fresh snow we got...you'd think he'd get enough of it, I know I have had enough!!!!!
It even sounds like a comedy..... the adventures of ED and TEN TWO WILD AND CRAZZZZY TRI'S. Did you ever see Steve Martin when he was on Saturday Night Live do that skit?(TWO WILD AND CRAZZZY GUYS) Ha Ha, gotta love those goofballs!!!!
Gem and Chepstow could have such a lovely vacation together....a refined meal, a leisurely stroll, maybe a belly rub followed by a blissful nap(with no barking at every thing that moves out the window by Ed)yes, she is looking at plane reservations now.......
I would love to move to the Carolinas! Hope to be able to do that in the future when my youngest son graduates from high school here. I'll keep the Corgi Picnic there in mind! Thanks!
I left the olive salad receipt on Jane's page. I tried to make it universal to the whole group but obviously hit a wrong button somewhere! All the best, Nan
Dearest Chepstow,
That is so annoying. My brother has spring fever and barks at the deck door every time he sees a squirrel. I haven't had a decent nap all weekend! I hope Tenby let you sleep in a little over the weekend!
My dearest Chepstow, I know it isn't polite to make fun of your siblings....but I knew you would understand this crazy thing my brother does. He chases a ball!!! Can you believe that? I mean, he doesn't just chase it once, he chases it back and forth in our hallway for 1/2 the afternoon if someone was throwing it for him. Just thought you'd understand how appalled I am by his behavior. Lovingly, Gemima
My Dearest Chepstow, I am glad you have been having a nice time with your Auntie. My Great Auntie and Uncle were also here visiting from Texas for the afternoon, so we had a nice rest while they chatted with my Mom. They hadn't seen Edward since he was a pup(5lbs) and he now weighs a whopping 27-28lbs so they were pretty amazed by that.
I guess that boys must just love to chase those balls...I prefer to sit and watch but every so often I do step in and try to stop it by running away with it. It is a lot of commotion to handle but I can understand the excitement of it.
Our weather has been almost 40 and we all have Spring Fever, so we have been outside as much as possible. Have a great weekend! Gemima
My dearest Chepstow, how nice you got to have a little more leg room(cuz they're so long) when your Aunt was visiting. It is almost 60 degrees here today and my mom spent the morning cleaning up the yard. She gave us a few funny looks and shook her head a couple times at us. I'm not sure what that was all about, but I think it had something to do with a pooper scooper and a pail.
We have very little snow left after a very quick warm up all last week and rain. Now the sun is shining and we are soaking it up! Edward is dropping his fur like crazy and my dad furminated him yesterday and got almost a whole plastic shopping full of fur. It was flying everywhere!! Well, I hope you have a very nice week and may the luck of the Irish follow you wherever you go. Lovingly, Gem
Hi Chepstow,
We are having great Spring weather here today again, almost 60 degrees and we are loving it! I had to see my Doctor on Friday just for a check up and some nasty shots, but my mom says they keep me healthy so I guess it is alright. I got a lot of extra attention on Friday just for having to go there. My doctor said that I was really healthy and asked my mom a lot of questions. I did get the shakes a little bit when he was examining me, but he really is a nice doctor and all the ladies love me there!
Brothers can be so irritating....mine is barking at me right now as I am laying on the deck in the sunshine trying to get me to chase him around our yard. He also started to swipe food off the girls' plates in the last week or so if they set it down within his reach. Have a wonderful week....Love, Gem
thanks for the welcome to the site. gem and eddy are both adorable. they told us about this site which we had never heard of. having gotten scooter from a shelter instead of a breeder, we're a bit out of the loop of corgi news. the neighborhood must like scooter because he was the 1st. now we have 5 within about 2 blocks of us!

Glad to see another person who has both a red and white and a tri! It's fun having more than one color.
