About Me:
I am a hairstylist at Shag Me Salon in Las Vegas, Nevada. My husband and I enjoy the outdoors, the kids, our grandson and love our corgis!
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
I have 3 corgis, Ein, Lilly and Twinkie. I rescued Ein 5 years ago, he's a 12 year old pembroke. He was severely overweight, over 65 pounds when he came into my life. Could barely walk! So he went on a strict diet right away!! He also has a birth defect, one of the bones in his front leg didn't grow, so he has a clubbed leg - which doesn't slow him down! I just rescued Lilly a year ago, she's a 3 year old cardi mix. I love them both, everyone should have the pleasure of having a corgi family!!
I just found out yesterday Lilly has cutaneous lymphoma, our vet is getting a second opinion on the biopsy result. My precious Lilly has a good life, one she had not had if we hadn't rescued her.
Just added Twinkie to the family!! (she is actually my daughter's!)She is a 3 and half year old Pembroke. Lilly has been doing ok, we enjoy all of our babies!! Lilly and Twinkie love to hang out on the couch with daddy, we all go for walks and play!!!!
Ein died in his sleep last night. I will miss my little bubby terribly!
I have:
Both Pembroke and Cardigan

  • Stephanie

I know what you mean, I told my boyfriend the same thing....he took me to a few stores a few years ago and I fell in love with them, and two years ago I got one and it was all over, had my litter of puppies and now I want more. So we decided once we move out we're gonna have a bunch of little corgis runnin around :)
  • Cathlin Barry

I didn't cut his hair last summer but I might do it this year. It really makes him look like a lion!
  • BENZO and QUEENIE

Thanks for accepting Benzo as your friend. You are so lucky to have 2 corgis. My husband and I want to add another corgi to our family. Do you like Vegas than the bay area now? I love the bay area but my husband wants to move to Sac.
  • Michelle

What cuties. They both look like they have a great life.

That's cool! I just heard about the web site from one of the corgi owners a while ago. We went to a corgi meet up over at mountain view. Hope all is well! Take care.
  • Courtney

Glad to know all of you! Hope we can "run" into each other this spring while my family and I are on vacation in Vegas -- love that town!
  • Brent & Mona's Bunny Butts!

Thank you. And how wonderful of you to rescue! They are very lucky to have you. We would like to one day have a house with acreage so we can start our own Corgi rescue.
  • Deanna

Oh, my gosh! I'm so sorry to hear about Lilly! But don't panic yet, she can still live a long and happy life, even with the cutaneous lymphoma. Yes, my first corgi/mix, Patches, had it. She had several surgeries to remove the growths and lived to be 15 1/2 years of age! I eventually had to put her to sleep, not because of the cutaneous lymphoma, but because she had other problems due to old age that depleted her quality of life, and it wasn't fair to keep her alive for me. Actually, the growths were all benign in the beginning. It took years for the malignancy to set in. If that's any condolence for you. You still have many happy, loving years together. Each surgery was worse for me than it was for Patches. She actually felt better to have the growths removed after a day or two back home and was up and running around as if nothing had ever taken place.
  • Karen

Hi, I hope that Lilly is doing well! It's always difficult to know that our furry companions are ailing. I see that you rescued both of your pups - can you tell me if you rescued them here in LV? My mother is looking for a dog, and I (naturally ;-) ) think that a corgi would be an excellent choice! If you know anyone who is involved in corgi rescue here, I'd be so grateful if you could pass along their contact information. Thank you very much, Karen
  • Karen

Well congratulations on your "new arrival!" Yes, if you hear of any corgi who needs a good home, please let me know, thanks a million!
  • Suzette & Rueben Dog

I hope lilly is doing well. Please keep us updated.
  • Jezebelle

Yes, I don't know why such sweet creatures have to suffer..But at least they get a second chance at a happy loving home when nice people like us find them. :) Liza is like my daughter, I talk about her like she is a person and people have actually been surprised to find out she wasn't a human daughter when they met her. Looking at her now you can hardly tell she had a rough past, she's recovered so nicely and she has a great temperment. I'm sorry to hear about poor Lilly's cancer, I wish you and she the best and that she can get better (or at least not suffer). You seem like such a great corgi mom! :)
  • Suzette & Rueben Dog

How is Lilly doing? We have been saying lots of prayers.
  • Suzette & Rueben Dog

I'm so happy that Lilly is hanging in there! I love my Rueben!
  • Kristen

How scary that Ein was attacked by a Pittbull. I'm so glad to hear that he is home. Happy healing thoughts to Ein and Lilly. So much going on for you. Your little pack is so fortunate to have such a loving home. Our Tess (Golden/Lab), had her cancer surgery two years ago and is still with us at 16! Happy, but her age is catching up to her.
  • Deanna

I am so very sorry to read abot Ein -- I know and feel your pain and am praying for you to find comfort in knowing he's at the Bridge now no longer suffering, but playing, romping, frolicking and having the time of his life with my beloved Ladygirl. Both of them will be there to greet us when we're ready to join them again!
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

I am so sorry to hear about Ein. I can only imagine how hard it is, I truly would be devastated if I lost Lance. Awww, lots of corgi hugs. Prayers sent your way to help you through this very hard time. Just thinking about it gives me a lump in my throat. :(
  • Bev Levy

Just happened to catch your post. So sorry about Ein! You obviously gave him a great life and he has joined many wonderful corgis over the Rainbow Bridge. So sorry for your loss
  • Kristen

So sorry about Ein. We never have them long enough. It is nice to have him pass peacefully at home. We lost Tess our 16 yr old golden/lab cross last month. We had her scheduled at the vet, but I cancelled at the last minute... for some reason I knew she was going to pass quietly that night. She did. Peacefully content and at home. Ein was blessed by you. We learn the true meaning of sorrow when we lose our furry friends, but thankfully we also learn the true meaning of joy and unconditional love. My thoughts continue to be with you.
  • Adriana, Henry, & Catherine

I am so sorry about Ein. It is so hard to lose one of our babies. I lost my beloved Hannah girl a couple of months ago. She was a australian shepherd/black lab mix. It was so heart wrenching. She was 11 and a half years old. She was my baby. My thoughts are with you. I truly believe that he is waiting for you in heaven. Just remember all the good times and his smiling happy face. =)
  • ryuustar

  • Cindi & Twinkie

Ein's happy second-half of life was because of the pure love and special care you offered him. You were his angels on earth and he surely loved you more than anything. I'm sorry for your loss.
  • Cindi & Twinkie

Everytime you write about Twinkie, I have to do a double-take. What are the odds that we both would pick the perfect name for a golden-brown confection with a creamy tummy? Go Twinkies!!
  • Pa'ani

I just read about Ein and just wanted to say that they are never around long enough. Im so glad that he had a wonderful and exciting life! I will miss reading about him.
