About My Corgi(s):
Our Corgi is named Conan Cooper (Named after our favorite late night host Conan O'brien). He was born on Christmas day. He loves stealing socks and hiding them around the house. welcome!
  • Gromit, Sparkle, and Doug

Welcome to MyCorgi! Gromit's best buddy is also a wiener dog, our mini-doxie named Holly
  • Gromit, Sparkle, and Doug

My wife had the wiener dog when we got married in '05. I had two Corgis but we lost them both in '09. The doxie is a hoot and I love her dearly but we'll still need one more Corgi to get the family back to normal. As the saying goes "Corgis are like potato chips, it's difficult to just have one."

    Welcome!

Having major medical issues with Daisy but when she's out of her surgery and back to her old-self, we'll have to make a play date at the park. . . .

Hey!! That's too funny. We named Conan after Conan O'Brien too! They're both reds. Gotta love it. And we love CoCo. Sorry it took me so long to get back, I haven't been on here in a while. Your Conan is so adorable! I love the photos of him :)

Really? Where do you live at? I am at Owensmouth / Lassen. Let's have Buster and Conan make friends!

Is Conan food motivated? If so, he'll probably be pretty easy to train. =D

  • Corgi Mak & Buster McFatty Bear

I absolutely recommend it. Buster went through PetSmart training @ Canoga / Victory. The best trainer there is Katie, she does Buster's classes. He started at 11 weeks, so it's never too early to start training!

Hey, I think I saw your boyfriend riding his bike with Conan in his arms a week ago or so! I was right by the gas station at Topanga / Lassen. I wanted to honk and say what's up, but I was in a hurry to a basketball game. I think it was Conan, but I'm not 100% sure, does your boyfriend ride his bike a lot ?

Quick question, is your Conan's name like "Conan the Barbarian" or like "Conan O'Brien" ?

    =D

I thought Chatsworth Park was closed due to the lead deposits? The trainers at Petsmart are all pretty good, but Katie is the best one. http://www.youtube.com/katherinek9

Unfortunately, she's in school at UCSB for film, so she is only able to have classes Friday to Sunday. I have been taking Sunday classes with Katie in the past, but I haven't been able to for a couple months because Corgi got extremely sick, so I got hit hard with his medical bills. I find Katie the best, because she has specialized classes for certain groups of students. For example, Buster started classes at 11 weeks. He breezed through every regular class at PetSmart, and Katie has a small group of smart dog-students, that do highly advanced Click-A-Trick classes and Advanced Obedience classes, so Buster joined in with them. That's where Buster learned a lot of his fun tricks!

If you need a weekday class, the other trainer, Alex, is pretty cool as well. He works full time at Petsmart, so when he's not doing his 1-2 classes per night, he is just walking around Petsmart and is very helpful and easy to talk to. It's really nice to be able to meet your trainer before you start classes so you make sure the personality is a fit. =D

So your boyfriend is named Alex, I am also named Alex. How old are you guys? Let's have a Corgi play-date! I think Buster and Conan would get along very well. Is he the normal bold-goofy style Corgi? Buster certainly is! XD

If it's the heavier guy with the Basset Hound, it was Alex the trainer. He's cool and buddies with Buster and Corgi. Then again, they love all "Blue-Shirt" (Petsmart trainer) people because they're all nice and have delicious treats. Conan just needs to have the puppy series of shots before the first class, which is most of the shots except rabies.

When should we have the playdate ? Jen and I used to walk the dogs 3 times a day, but when Corgi got sick, the vet said he's not allowed to exercise for 3+ months. So we have to take Buster on private expeditions now, but Corgi gets so sad and jealous when we all leave him. Makes me feel so guilty. I also sprained my ankle playing basketball last week, so Buster hasn't gotten proper exercise. What days are good for you? I usually wake up around... 2:00 PM or so, and then feed the dogs and take them outside at 3:00 or so.

Where did you get Conan from? He actually looks a lot like Corgi did when he was a puppy!

There's the Corgi-Splat when he was a puppy! XD

Buster does that on command, it's called "Pancake" for him! =D

All doggies are honorary Corgis for the day at Corgi Fun Day! Please tell your friend and her Doixies to come to Fun Day for a memorable day in the park!
  • Carol Rea

Thank you for the friend request! Wish you lived close to me, to show me how to do all this picture stuff. Of course, your corgi has to cooperatate! Anyway, I do love all the pictures, keep it up. Carol, Lucky and Sonny (the uncooperative corgis, that is why there are so few pictures on our page)
  • Kari & Jackson

    Yes please! Puppy date!!!
  • Kari & Jackson

Hey, yeah! I work M-F so weekends are best for us too! We just moved to Long Beach and we are soooo happy here! I'm not sure what would be a good in-between meet up place. Do you know of any? Jackson is really starting to love the beach!
  • Carol Rea

Food might work! Sonny has been out eating flowers because he thinks he is underfed and once we had a vet who thought she was so smart - was going to show me something I did not know, she used an entire can of easy cheese trying to show me how to cut Lucky's toenails (he HATES to be thouched on the toes) and she did not get one cut, but he sure had a good snack!!
  • Kari & Jackson

Hey!! We could maybe do this Sunday? But I'm not too sure on that. It's a busy week ahead. Do you guys AIM? My SN is MoreLasers!
  • Carol Rea

yes, easy cheese is great in kongs. We used to put all sorts of things in them, even peanut butter. I think we even used Odie's rice and ground beef and froze it (it's been awile - I know we froze something in them!)
  • Joanna, Rainy and Calvin

So, I have to tell you...we are reading the Conan the Barbarian short stories, and everytime they mention Conan and describe him, I imagine your little Conan with his hair all crazy and a stick in his mouth. Makes for a more interesting story. But I wonder...does your Conan distrust magic?
  • Joanna, Rainy and Calvin

If you like Arnold and cheesy 80's adventure/action films, the movies weren't bad. They were entertaining. The book is just a compilation of short stories. Probably most fun for teenage boys, but worth the read if you are in the mood for something different. Better with a corgi though :)
  • Ollie & Prie Misra

I hope we see you at the corgi meetup at Redondo!!
