My husband and I will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2011! Have 2 human kids and 2 fur kids. I now have the four kids I've always wanted. :)
Name: Lance
Breed: Cardigan Welsh Corgi(Blue Merle)
Birthday: October 30, 2005.
Current Age: 8 1/2
RIP 5-3-14
Was an only dog for 5 years, but not anymore! Learning about sharing, I hear sharing is good. :) I have corgi buddies already so hopefully it wont be too hard to share with my brother.
Lance is a pure breed cardigan corgi, at the moment he may appear like he is not because his ears are floppy. Lance is dealing with auto immune issues and vasculitis of the ears which affects the blood flow in his ears.
Name: Tucker
Breed: Red and White Pembroke. Was rescued from the
shelter March 6, 2011
Birthday: October 12, 2007
Current Age: 6
Tucker is a sweetheart, seems quite comfy here. :) So glad to be out of the shelter. I was so sweet the first time I met my potential owners I gave them lots of corgi kisses, I stole their hearts. <3
Hiya back! :D Silas turned 4 on August 15th. He's growing up too fast! Our little babies are getting so big! ;-)
Really, the vest looks fantastic! I'm so glad you posted about it too — we ordered one to try out. We had a nightmare experience a few years ago with a collar: Barnaby and Silas were playing, had their collars on, and Barnaby's jaw got stuck in Silas' collar. As Barnaby twisted to get free, he actually was twisting the collar tighter and tighter and was literally strangling Silas, who couldn't breathe at all, lost his bowels, etc. If we wouldn't have been home, or had come into the room a few minutes later, Silas would have been gone. :-( (Yikes, I'm getting all teary just thinking about it!) Luckily, my husband was able to cut the collar off, and Silas recovered. Soooooo, ever since then we won't touch collars. Harnesses can sometimes be a pain ... this one looks so easy! I can't wait to try it out!
hey, its totally OK that you coulndt chat tehe. soooo about that picture: jackson allways has his hind legs like that haha. we like to call it the ballerina pose, or the gludious maximus pose!!!
Hi, I got Ava from Tender Loving Care shelter in Homer Glen last month. Lance's blue eyes are so interesting. I didn't know that dogs can have pretty blue eyes.
Rosemont, IL Dog show. Cardis and Pems show: Sat Dec 19th sweepstakes at 8:40am and regular breed at 9:20am. Sun Dec 20th 10:15am at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center 5555 N River Rd • Rosemont, Illinois 60018
I do like the seat covers. They are fairly attractive and comfortable to sit on. They slide around a bit more than I expected, but that's because we have a slightly overstuffed couch with a higher-than-normal back; on a more traditional style I think it would stay in place better. It does the job with the hair, though!
I may need to do as you suggest and join the ISpy group and post a picture. I do have the packaging still. Thanks for asking!.
Hi! I don't think I was the one who told you about the Rosemont show, but the answer is that yes, they charge a mint for parking: $11 per car. The premium is here: http://www.onofrio.com/plist/skok1pl.pdf and it's under "Attention Exhibitors."
I don't know if you were planning on bringing Lance - technically you're not supposed to but we ALL do. If he's well-trained around other dogs it's generally OK. Just don't let him sniff or even pay too much attention to other dogs, and keep him very much under control on a short leash. If he's on a show lead that's best, because dogs on pet collars tend to look really obvious. If that would be too much of a pain, just leave him home.
I love the picture of Lance looking out the window! My original plan when I got Jack was that he would not be allowed on the furniture. LOL That lasted until the first time he jumped up while I was eating when he was a puppy and tried to climb onto my plate. I was laughing so hard I couldn't even spit out a "no!" There's a picture of my couch on my homepage, with the dogs sleeping on it, so you can see how it compares to yours. I do need to straighten the cover periodically if we are using the furniture, but honestly that's easier than forever trying to get off dog fur and cleaning up spots (Jack has developed a bad habit of licking fabric if he thinks he smells a crumb).
All that I can find out is that Ava was dropped off at the Homer Glen TLC. From what I can see, she was very well cared for. The shelter gave me her veterinarian records for two years from the previous owner, and she has been to the vet on routine visits every 6 months. She is also very well mannered so I have to believe that it must have been some very difficult situation for her previous owner to give her up. I don't think that Ava was at the shelter for too long, because I have been tracking petfinder.com and adoptapet.com every day because I really wanted a Corgi. She showed up on Friday and I was in on Saturday to adopt her. Fortunately, the shelter allowed me to put a one hour hold on Ava, because before I got to the shelter, another family was waiting to see if they could adopt her if I didn't show up.
lol yah i can't wait to use the camera and hopfully take good pic with it and bettter videos too. love the new pics of lance, i've alwaysed loved his coloring and his eyes!
Hey Nat and Lance. Hope you had a good night. Have not talked for a while. Is everything ok? What you been up to? Not much here. Kinda wishing Christmas was over already. Kinda depressed. Been sleeping from like 6am or so till like 5pm ... *Sigh* Hugs from me and Kota.
Nat, Kota's collar was pretty sweet, but when Diesel and he were playing, Diesel pulled it off and they chewed it up. It was barely too big for him at the smallest size. I got it for $0.80 at a thrift store. LOL
Not been walking. It's freaking Freezing here. Like, for real. I hate the cold. Makes me so tense. Kota's ears go back all the time... It's so cute. I want to start quilting. I'm sewing a bunch of things for people for christmas. I'm making some fishing pole covers for the renters, making my mom, aunt, and friend some kitchen appliance covers. I don't know what to make my grandma. She has everything. When you on facebook? I have not seen you there in forever. I have been getting on pretty late though. Bye
Hey Natalie!!
Gosh, I haven't been on here in forever ... anyway, just thought Kip and I would stop by and wish you, your family and Lance Happy Holidays! How are you and Lance doing?
So right! it has been FOREVER!!!! My holiday was good, how was yours? all of my relatives are coming up to the mountains tomorrow! so exciting! Including a adorable 3 year old who LOVES dogs! Its going to be a busy week!
Happy Holidays Natalie and Lance! I've been busy but have this week off from work so I uploaded some new photos of the K-man. He turned one on Dec. 15. He got what he wanted for the holidays - more tuffy toys and more snow!
Hi Nat & Lance. Thank you so much for the pics. Hubby & I were just looking at some of the new pics of Lance, he is soooo adorable! He just shows so much personality in his photos. I haven't been real good about taking pics lately. Will try to do better and get on here a little more often. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and your family!
Thank you for the pix comments! I've been working...nightshift...so I just got a chance to visit MyCorgi today! Lance is handsome and very photogenic! Your pix are great!
Yes, I think everyone could use a brindle to compliment their blue! ;)
Hi there & thanks for your comment. I started out teaching Holly to wait until people entered before she could greet them (mug 'em). She also gets very excited before bf's arrive. My friends have been naughty & visited her when I'm not home, talking to her through the glass doors on the porch, (they told me she'd jump at the glass door). Also through the door before it is opened when I am at home. I had to stop them from doing this, as it started to wreck all our good work at greeting/ not mugging/jumping up/barking excitedly. I asked them to be patient with me & wait till I opened the door. They also have to talk to me first. Otherwise Holly thinks they only come to see her. When the other yappy dogs start I tell her to 'leave', most times she does, sometimes she has a little grumble. It is a whole different story with the mailman on his motorbike! For him she runs around the fence line! She has met him & doesn't bite or anything like that. She just hates that bike. Lance is such a handsome boy, he probably thinks everyone is coming for him too:x)
Hello and thanks for the comment ^_^ Yes, both dogs are mine. Eddie is my Corgi and Bear is my wooly Siberian Husky (wooly is like fluffy in Corgis). They are totally inseparable, like brothers from another mother. :P
Lance... you sure do love the snow.. good thing you have some tan and black spots and those blue eyes or I might have not been able to pick you out in your new pics!!!!!
Haven't checked in for awhile so I thought Ava and I would say hi! I gave in and took her to the groomer today because she was so STINKY! She's prancing around now in her snowman bandana.
Hi Natalie, Lance is a beauty! My Sky girl is from Missouri (Garvin Corgis) by way of Jersey. She was supposed to be a show dog, but had a confirmation point or two off. The NJ breeder decided not to show her and I am lucky to have her as my best friend. It's great fun to see other Blue Merle's on this site. Pam
thank you=].. lance is a handsome boy and i so glad we could be friends. thank you for the picture. i love his looks. =] i never seem anybody like lances before . i adore his blue eyes and the black spots on him. i hope hes doing alrite and wish him always the best from lobo and me. take care
Thanks for your message. I'm doing ok. Chester was 13. He'd had diabetes for nearly 2 years. He lived a good long life. I was late to work today because he wasn't there to wake me up and I had forgotten to set my alarm! LOL.......... Give Lance hugs and kisses from me.......:o)
Hi Natalie! Sorry we’ve been M.I.A. — my husband’s father became ill and passed away, so I am very behind in checking in with all of my Corgi friends. I ♥ all of the new pix of Lance. How was your Christmas and New Year?
