I live in the country and love animals so I have a variety of dogs(2 of my own corgis, Wynn and daughter Sage)2 rescues,a corgi mix and an Aussie) cats and free range chickens. I am lucky because I get to work close to my home and my dog(s) get to come with me...My husband and I have grown children and several beautiful grandchildren who love to visit and play with the animals. My love for Corgis started when I went to pick a female Corgi and Wynn picked me... he proceeded to walk up to me, lay his tiny little head on my foot and fall asleep.Wynn still parades around my house with one of my shoes and I always have to "look" for my shoe before I can leave...I did a Corgi rescue April (08) I felt like I wanted to help other Corgis...wow what an experience and I learned a lot. I also do corgi rescue when needed..Jackson now lives with Jennifer Markley. Calvin my Cardigan rescue lives with Joanna and Rainy my own Pembroke was rehomed and lives with Joanna's parents where she can be the "princess" and have her own people!
I have 4 Corgis.Wynn is my male Corgi that started this obsession with Corgis and he is now 9. Wynn's daughter Sage is 3 and a Therapy Inc.dog that often travels with me.Wiley my rescue is also about 8. Teddy my other rescue is about 11. Armani is my Aussie who thinks and acts like a corgi! Tank is a 4 year old Corgi mix. We decided to adopt him instead of another Corgi because he had already been in 3 homes at 1 year of age. He can run for hours in our groves and wear off his energy and is such a sweet boy. 1/2.
Jane I love coming to your page because during the stress of moving to a new town, having to temporarily live without my corgi and Maine Coone cat, and looking for work, I always manage to get a real chuckle from the photos here! Thank you so much for delighting me with your "family" photos of all your furry children! More than ever, it is essential to find laughter. Thanks you!
Jocelyn
You are very welcome! :) Thank you for the friend request, and also thank you for your help and advice with my issues with Molly. Much appreciated! I hope that you and yours have a wonderful Christmas.
HI jANE GLAD YOU LIKE THE ANYTHING DOG WEBSITE...HOPE YOU FIND SOMETHING YOU LIKE....I JUST GOT INVOLVED IN RESCUING A DOBERMAN FROM OUR POUND AND SENDING IT TO DOBERMAN RESCUE...IT WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL FEELING TO KNOW THAT A BEAUTIFUL DOG WOULD SOON BE FINDING A FOREVER HOME. HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON. MARION
We do not have a lot of corgis in my immediate area either, but every now and then one pops up. The Doberman group asked me if I would like to do rescue work with them.....but I would rather do the corgis. Have informed our pound that I will take any corgis they get and will also research rescues for any purebred dog that may come their way. I must say that our pound is good to the dogs....keeps a very clean facility and takes them to the vet immediately upon the dog arriving. While at the vet they are given an exam, and heartworm test....fecal is also checked. That is better than most pounds in our area. I was just so excited about the dobie going to doberman recue I could hardly stand it....they have had him neutered, all shots updated....redid the heartworm test.....and have a home for him.....Yea
Beautiful Corgis, ALL of them! I love them all! After having Aussies for so long I thought I would get a couple of Corgis since I have heard so much about them. All I knew was that the people I knew who owned them just loved their Corgis. I can see why. They are the neatest. Tess is more interested in being with me and Sam just wants to distract her all the time. Tess is my baby and Sam loves dad. Aussies are great dogs and so easy to train. The shedding season (now) hasn't been too fun. I need a couple days to brush them all. They are all house trained but spend sometime outdoors playing. The Corgis are way more energetic!
Dear Corgie Friends,
just a short Christmas Note to tell you that Luke our wonderful dog, Mostly wolf cross has been returned thanks to your link. some people from SF found him in a ditch offside of the road on fickle hill. They returned him to us. He had been hit by a car and was looking for us at our old address. Anyway, he was taken to the vet and is now home and recovering.
God Bless you all and Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks Lori and Lynn
He is doing great, we are having a family reunion today and I am sure he will be exhausted when he meets everyone. My cousin brought his Australian Cattle Dog with him and when she got too rough with him, our German Shepherd intervened. It was really funny when they were all trying to pull away with the same giant stick.
Hey Jane,
nice pic´s!! We live in the very, very north part of Germany, so it´s different to Ulm. Did you like it there?? Because I often hear, that the Americans have some problems with the cold German citizen, but maybe it´s only here in the north....
So, much greetings and happy Christmas!! Juli and Jerry
Thanks for the welcome!
I love the way you are able to dress your dogs! I hope Lily will accept at least a warm coat soon. Right now, everything is just another toy and should be chewed! She did accept her collar. I'm not sure how to get her to wear anything, maybe just a small blanket over her back until she gets the idea. Sure do love this dog!
Sharon
That's so exciting! I hope everything goes well for Livvy. Can't wait to see pictures! I just told Puck he's gonna be an uncle and he gave me his "surprised" look. :)
Hi Jane, The bed is a Woolrich one and I like it too. I would love to get one large enough for Misty but I have one I tried and Sparty just took it over and Misty stayed in the small one. Sparty is the king! Oh well! We have a new couch coming and Misty prefers the couch anyway. She is just confused because we sold our old one on Craig's list so quick we have to go with out a couch for a week and a half. I am getting a leather couch and can not wait. Keeping the hair off the old Chenille one was a nightmare. We have your cold temps this weekend so we are all just trying to stay warm.. Bev
Yes Bev,
I understand the "taking over" way too well. I bought my bed for Bella when she was pregnant last year and she usually gets it but...there are days that someone else sneaks in there before her. She loves to stretch out and sleep on her back in there! I want a new couch also but I am trying to figure out flooring for my living room and considering a rough tile...this won't be for a year or so but then I would need to get a couch too! I am hoping to get 1 more female pup late this summer so until she is trained I will have to live with what I have!
Stay warm! We have -15 right now!!!!! I can't let the dogs out for more than 2 minutes but I hope to get my Christmas tree down! Jane
I have bought a pup from Adams before. He was pretty nice and they were easy to work with. They aren't the chattiest people in the world but I'm just a gabber anyway, some people aren't. The pup was healthy. He was shipped to me. I did wind up selling the pup but to a lady who put his UKC Champion on him quite easily, I sold him because I had purchased the dogs AKC CHampion uncle which also happens to be the sire to their Zip. Their other dog Max, is my dogs brother, the one that finished at 9 months. Being a breeder it is hard to keep too many males much less of the same bloodline. I have pics of him, who are the parents you are getting one from? My boy was sired by Max and out of Pumpkin.
Dini has been with us for over a year, she lives with two other dogs in wich are very submissive to her. She loves people and is never agressive tward anyone. When she attacks it's usually because she is posessive with her rawhides, but sometime out of the blue when she not around me or anyone and baloo passes her she instantly attacks him. Also when she attack another dog on the walk in wich i was not there, the miniute she saw the other dog that she already new and had had previous fights with imedietly attacked. We do not have a fence right now but we will be puting one up soon. From what i have herd when dini was with her previous owner she attacked all the dogs and tried to kill them including her litter of puppies.
I'm going to assume you are looking for another Pembroke but I know a lady who breeds Cardigans. They are beautiful show quality dogs. A little pricey but her dogs have the ribbons to prove their worth. Just thought I'd throw it by you since you mentioned something about a show dog in your post. I'm not sure as far as the agility side. Her dogs have very calm personalities from what I saw. Hope Livvy is doing well!
Yes I would bring him home in a minute, i've been sad ever since I left him but he loves to be outside running and digging.. and I can't give that to him in our home.
my room mate, who is absolutely in love with Corgis now, and my parents will be watching him. I really hate to leave him for that long, but it will be for the better.
I just love the picture of Rosie and Bella playing together....I still wish I could help you out by taking her. Have you had any success in trying to place her yet???
