I am a former registered dietitian and pharmacy technnician. I grew up in Corvallis, OR, living in Central and South America for periods of time when my father took time away from OSU. My husband and I lived in Corvallis for 30 years before moving to Crooked River Ranch July 2006. Due to disability, am not working. Love to cook, knit and read.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
We currently have 2 corgis. Lucky was about 9 months old when rescued from a snowbank on Christmas Eve 2001, he has had back surgery after being totally paralyzed and got his new wheels 6/17/10! He has been using a ramp to get up the front steps for about 9 months. Sonny came to us 4/26/09, when his family did not want to take him with them when they moved. He was 8 and never trained, socialized or taught to play! After a year, he still doesn't play or FRAP, but no longer stays in the back room.
Thanks for inviting me! I have uploaded a few pictures of my happy corgi, Swansea and his favorite "cousin" my nephew Christian. I look forward to participating on this site!
thanks for the welcome ; ) i have a beautiful male corgi name MArty,im right now suffering because i just move from PR to jax and he is still in PR ,i miss him so much :(
My dad makes boxes and other wood carvings, usually in the winter in his spare time. He never sells them - just gives them away, usually to the kids. He does them out of 'scrap wood' that he has in the basement - cherry, black walnut, cedar, oak, ect... He carves them free hand so one box takes him a little bit to make. I told him I could take some and maybe sell them online and give the money to Corgi-Aid. He mostly does Pirate boxes, but he did the dog one for Jane and it turned out so nice. Maybe if we have a long winter in Buffalo this year...(wait...that's every year)!!
Awww thanks so much!! We love our little girl Bella! She has been such a wonderful addition to our family! I found this site and thought it would be fun to find others that are as Corgi Crazy as myself!!
Naw, you didn't mis-speak and you guys don't have the wrong idea! I would love to raise some money for Corgi-Aid. It's a long winter, my dad loves to do his crafts, and he's running out of people to give them to. Muhahahaha! I figure, if he is making them and not looking to re-coup for materials, I could sell some stuff and donate the money. He just says, "take what you want." Win/Win! I will let you guys know if I am able to sell some! Give Lucky and Sonny hugs from me!!
Yes..new profile picture. Just got this picture done today which is an ad for Sian's wins and litter announcement. Had to scramble to get it put together so it can be in the PWCCR Summer Newsletter. Of course Baron and Layla built that snowman. haha Corgis can do many things!!!
Many thanks for the warm welcome. I'm still scratching my head wondering how I ever got here. I guess there's no telling where your passion will take you. Pictures are forthcoming, I promise!
hello, thanks for the comment . to be honest I just want a little corgi girl , but first of all I want to know which is the cost for it?, (sorry for my bad english)
JEJEJE OK DONT WORRY , WELL I LIVE IN MEXICO CITY , WELL I AM TRIYNG TO BUY A CORGI , I JUST LOVE THIS DOGS, BUT THEY ARE JUST TO EXPENCIVE , LIKE 20 000 PESOS THAT IS LIKE 2000 DOLLARS , SO I AM TRYNG TO FIND SOMEONE WHO SELL A LITTLE PUPY CHEAPER, THANKS FOR THE WELCOME.
His name is actually champagne blake-spencer and we call him spencer per my daughter's insistence, but every time you look at him just look around further. He definitely was up to something! Trouble he is Hayden is a saint when compared, he is obedient to a fault. Spencer is still adorable though, he makes up by loving on you.
I thought of doing something...don't know what brand but I did get it from Fleet farm and I still have it! I am worried about lead poisening also as it was made in chine! I would have to get a magnifying glass to see if I can read the back! I might still have the charge receipt!
What handsome fellows you have! Yeah sometimes I don't get the chance to get on here and then at other times I get some free time and I can. Glad to hear from you. Well time to get ready for work but at least it is Friday.
Hi Carol, Thanks for the warm welcome! Just got some photos posted now that I've had a few minutes to sit down by the computer! :-) Sonny & Lucky are adorable! You have such a big heart! <3
Thanks!! Yeah, I finally settled on Laika, which is the name of the first dog (or animal at all) to be sent on an orbital space mission. There's statues of her in Russia :) so I thought it went well with Orion, keeping with the space theme
Hi Carol,
Our tri Tenby was a rescue also. We got him at 6 months, skinny, no muscle tone and afraid of the world. We have had him 3.5 years now and he is almost normal (if a tri can ever be normal) He still has a few socialization issues, but once he realizes you were invited into his house he warms up to you. Fast movment still makes him crazy, when I run to the phone he barks and gets upset. He does play either but is very happy to sit outside and watch his brother FRAP. Perfect child Chepstow has really help Tenby overcome his problems. In a doggy way Chepstow has been supportive but also a little bossy when it comes to improving his brothers behavior. We love them both. Hopefully Jane will be able to come for a visit.
Hello Carol, Lucky and Sonny! Thank you for the welcome message and comments about Alwyn's pictures. He definitely was tiny wandering through the Redwoods. I couldn't help but feel small myself, let alone him! YES you are right in that he was on top of the Sinclair dinosaur. We had to fill up so I took Alwyn out for a break and he was freaking out over the dinosaur - barking and running around him in circles. After he settled down my fiance put him on top and just by chance, I got a shot of him giving his "best dino roar". I love massage therapy and am anxious, excited and nervous to start my four year trek through a Masters degree but I know I'll do great. I hope all is well with you - thanks again!
We have a registered dietiain on our hospice team. We live in Reading PA. My employer is Heartland Hospice, a national company. Baron is also in training as a hospice therapy dog.
Most people agree that tri's just seem to have that wild and crazy gene in them. Are both of yours tri's. In the pictures one looks like a sable? My husband keeps saying we need a sable corgi to complete the look. If we ever get another corgi I want a blue merle cardi. Our tri Tenby (the rescue) has very bad shoulders (due to 6 months in a cage) he takes doggy morphine morning and night for the pain. He is doing very well now but at some point the shoulders will go. Have you ever seen or heard of front carts? Our boys are so jealous that your boys got to enjoy the septic issue. Rolling in dead fish or deer poop is the best mine can do these days.
believe me i have had troubles sleeping :P, i have spent a lot of my time reading "Pembroke Welsh Corgi: Your Happy Healthy Pet" and finished it last night. I am so excited, when i get it i wont even know what to do :P. I will probably introduce it to its crate, potty spot, show him his collar and play a bit.
The limping didn't stop him from helping me sort laundry today. Forget all his toys, he loves playing with socks. He has been running around throwing the sock in the air and catching it.
