I like to scrapbook, go to movies and just hang out and have fun with family and friends. I have always treated my dogs like my children. Friends have told me they want to be one of my dogs in their next life :)
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
My puppie's name is Sadie. She is presently 10 months old. She is FULL of energy and never wears down. She loves her toys and will play with you as long as you can hold up! Sadie has a lot of people that adore her. She is little Miss Personality Plus! Sadie is my first purebred Corgi. My previous baby was a Corgi/Chow mix I found wandering the streets at 8 weeks old. I was blessed to have him another 14 years. Now I am blessed to have my sweet little Sadie. She is still in her puppyhood and she is a pistol for sure. And we love her to pieces! We plan to get another dog soon. We have enough love in our hearts for another family member. ***update Jan. 2010 We added our precious baby Joey to our family. He is a 3 month old Fluffy and we are all so happy he is here!!!
Hello, yes this site is very fun! Very user friendly, I think. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer any questions you have. Thanks for the compliment on Lance, we appreciate it. :) Sadies profile picture is cute, looking forward to seeing more pics of Sadie as she grows. The years go by soooo fast!
Thanks for the comments on Sami, short for Samantha (no pun intended hehe) and she is a girl. I have my husband, Vern, talked into getting a second corgi, I want a little boy but then which ever would fit us best is what counts. Sami is only 7 months and we will wait until she is between 18-24 months before we get another. Hit him today in the parking lot of Sams that "Wouldn't it be great to go pick the next pup up?" I thought at first he was going to choke on me. See I want to get her brother from the same breeder we got Sami from and she lives in Ohio. That would be over 3,000 round trip for us! Sami is a very strong willed pup. That is exactly what I wanted. Our Teddi Bear was just the most mellow fellow you could have ever met, we had to have him put down last year but we were blessed to have him for 13 years. So I couldn't have taken getting one like him so soon after his leaving us and boy is she totaly different! She is awesome and wonderful in her own right. What is Sadie like? Is she a cuddler or a power house of play? When was she born? You know Sami didn't have the black up front and stuff until she got a little older. That is part of the fun of watching a pup mature, seeing the changes in color as well as thier personality. Tell me all about her and we can swap stories. Later
Boy do I know what you mean about wanting another pup. I would take one right this instant BUT that would not be best for the pup, Sami or us. They say it is best to wait until the one you have is at least a year old. With our vacation time and all that is really why we will wait until Sami is 18-24 months. Sami is most certainly a "thinking" corgi, strong willed as all get out. She has been getting more lovey in the last few weeks. And yes she is very smart. She would probably be able to do a lot more tricks if we just took the time but as long as she will sit, wait (stay) and come when called we are happy. Although she has been doing down for a long time, the rest is just gravy. Tedi could count to 4 and he could do it in any order, he didn't learn that until he was 8 years old or so. By the way Sami will a year Feb. 17th. Well it is time to get ready for work so LATER.
Thanks for the picture comments! Also, thank you for your vote but I gave up on the cutest dog contest because I think that contest is rigged. The winner of week 1 got around 44 thousand votes while the winners after that got only around 4 thousand or so after the judges decided that voters should register. From then on, I suspected something fishy going on. I think it's all about spreading the word to the people, and unfortunately I am unable to reach a thousand people!
But don't let me bring you down, it's just what I think.
Hi Debbie! I got that harness from a pet boutique store by me. I believe you can order it off the website. :) Maybe you can find it at a pet boutique near you?
Last year Sidney had a cool Headless Horseman that he wore, it looked like he was the Horseman's steed (there are pictures in my album on my page). Then after Halloween last year, when everything as 75% off, I got him the Lobster costume. He might wear that, but now my daughter wants him to wear a gold ring on a chain around his neck, and a green cape, and be Frodo from Lord of the Rings!
Thank you for the welcome!! I love your photo-- Sadie has a great smile! You mentioned in your blurb that she changed color as she grew? It's looking like Finn might do that, how much did Sadie's color change?
I think it's really neat how they change color! I wonder why it happens-- I can't really see any advantage to being different colored when small and vulnerable out in the hearding hills of Wales! But maybe the gray would blend better.... Finn's eye patch, as we call it, seems to be getting more orange, as do the insides of her ears. The back of her ears are sable-y, with orange at the bottom and black at the top of the hairs. She has two black spots on her neck that seem to be staying black (knock on wood! I like them :) and her back is all black except for one little white spot, but the black on her hind legs is turning orange and creeping up under her tail! It's very interesting. I think her pale eye has gotten a little darker, too. I never considered showing her or anything, so I'm loving watching her progress! I'm totally in love, so she can of course be whatever color she wants! :) Is Sadie still changing?
I'm glad you like the video ^_^ I took a few other ones that day, and pretty much all of them have her sticking her head way in there and subsequently pulling it out and shaking water out of her ears =P
Sadie is so cute! I love her picture with Santa. She looks like she is having the time of her life! If only we lived closer I am sure Sadie would love to have a sprinkler/pool party with Ashton. It's like they just can't seem to get enough of that water spraying them in the face! LOL
Hi nice to hear from you. Copper's hormones are starting up and it is hysterical watching him how to kick after he potties..all 4 legs are goin' and at one time. He needs to watch the labs closer. He is still real laid back and doesn't bark he just loves to destroy stuffed toys with squeekers in them....I find stuffing all over the house. Hope you have a very nice Christmas.
Well at my house they said we got a few flurries...But we were near Canton for Christmas and did'nt see anything....I think we live a little to far east..:-(
How did I pick my Sadie Mae's name? Well, before I went to meet her, my 27 year old daughter said we'd need to start thinking about names. I looked at her picture and said "Her name is Sadie". It popped into my head like someone had just informed me that her name was Sadie. The Mae part came from Sadie's mother. Her Mum is Allie Mae, and I thought it would be sweet to name her after her mum.
My daughter ended up parenting Sadie's brother, Gus. They are very different. He is quite a bit bigger, has more tri-color traits and is noisier. Sadie doesn't bark for attention, but Gus does, and he won't stop. I think he is in one of the pics I posted.
Sadie is a brat. She is sooooo destructive! I finally put her in doggy day care for three days a week, and that has worn her out! She is not nearly as bad on her home days because she needs to rest to regain her strength. But she has chewed almost all of my doorposts, my kitchen cabinets, the linoleum, the television cable, and furniture. She is very self-confident. This is not separation anxiety. I had a dog walker who would come and check on her, and take her for a long, tiring walk. My house is puppy-proof. No shoes out to tempt her. These are things we cannot put away!
Is she bossy? She tries. I have applied a lot of Cesar Millan's rules about being a pack leader, but she still gets grumpy if I put my feet near her end of the couch or the bed. She climbs onto my lap whenever it pleases her, even if I'm driving! But then I am in Canada and it's very cold this month, so she makes a great little lap blanket! And she's good about staying very still when I drive. Only she's so long now that when she tries to turn around to get off my lap, she honks the horn!
Hey there! Sorry for the delay! I hope you all have had a great holiday season and New Years!! Thank you for thinking of us! So when they brushed her a lot of the dark fur came out? Interesting.... Finn has gotten more orange on her back legs, and the downy fur under the black on most of her torso is white or light orange, but a lot of the black has stayed black so far! I'm kind of surprised. Some of it has gotten even darker and shinier, too, so I'm thinking some is here to stay :)
What great pictures. You are very lucky to have such precious angels. And they are lucky to have parents who love them so much. (your pictures are so wonderful).
thank you!:) i love having them around me, nothing like a "fur family" lol and thank you for the tip, i will do that. its like i am almost there to switch his food but then he go from solid to runny in a matter of hours. i thought it was because he plays all the time with my other animals too ruff. right now i give him half a cup of his old food and 3table spoons of his new food, but tomorrow i was going to add 31/2 table spoons and less than a cup of his old. im not sure if im doing it wrong. and your welcome about joey, i saw your family as well and everyone is adorable and they look so happy playing together:)
Dear Debbie and Sadie Mae, Thank you for your nice comments. I am amazed at how many corgi lovers their are. They are kind of hard to resist once you look into those big brown eyes. I think its great we are all here in North Texas. We should have a big corgi parade. Or maybe meet in park for an afternoon of frapping. Post more pictures!
Hi Debbie! Thanks for the comment on Lances waggle video. He loves his waggle, he had two I just had to throw one away cause it had a huge crack in it!! This is one toy that has lasted quite awhile. I put his dinner in it tonight!!
I'll give you the quick rundown of the animals lol. There is a lot. me and my mom are the ultimate animal people. I'm sure there are a lot of other people out there like this. I can't live without them. I have a pembroke welsh corgi named Copper who is 6 months old now. I had a corgi before. His name was Pooh. He was my baby and my everything. There are pics on my profile. I lost him in feb. 09. He got hit by a snowmobile. The two shepherds are my mom's. The lighter colored male is J.R. and the darker female is Emma. J.R. was a pup from our white German Shepherd Babe and our black and tan shepherd Jake. Jake passed away three years ago this month. :( the chihuahuas and the lab are also my moms. White female Chihuahua is Chica, the brown colored male chihuahua is Lupe (LOO-pay) and the lab is Isabell. The calico cat is Sophie. My ma is running a zoo lol j/k I love all her animals like they are my own (I don't live with her) so they are apart of my life kind of like Copper. It's good to see another shepherd/corgi lover. I thought I was odd for this but I guess there is quite a few people who love both, too. Where did you get Joey? Sadie is adorable, too. She looks so sweet and from the pictures, she looks like she took to Joey pretty quickly!
I believe that, too. (animals lovers are the best) If you look at people who do not love animals or are mean to them, they are normally not good people. I suppose there are a few exceptions. I had a white shepherd named Brutus when I was little and he was huge and my protector. I feel like my animals are my kids. I'm a protective mommy and I love them soooo much! Losing Pooh was probably the hardest thing I've ever had happen to me (and my life was no walk in the park) It was probably for the fact he was all mine and always brought me happiness. then for him to be just snatched away from me like that was devastating. I'm better now, still sad and miss him very much so I know how you feel. I felt empty for the longest time. I have Copper now, and although he will never replace Pooh, I love Copper different and in my own way. Thanks for responding and being so sweet. I'm sorry to hear about your babies also. It's never easy.I got ridiculed for being as heart broken as I was but they can go to hell for that. lol sorry. still angry over that situation.
