I'm a hard working single mom of one Pembroke, Timmy. : ) Obviously I have quite a sense of humor, (being a corgi lover).
I'm retired from public service, and work part time at what ever other jobs I can find to support, "The True Prince of Wales".
I own a small home located in a small rural community on the far northern California coast; far from the maddening crowds and 4-5 hours from civilization. Surrounded by very tall trees, redwoods, I love being in the outdoors and "roughing" it.
I'm much wiser than Timmy thinks I am.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
What can I say? Words escape and run in figure eights around the various items of furniture in the living room. Timmy is the "True Prince of Wales". He's very concerned with his looks, since he's very oversized (structured more like a cardigan). Very physically fit!! works out daily, in home, on the road or track, at the park chasing balls and once a week by a pet walker. Timmy doesn't walk, he struts, honest. When he meets another dog, he puffs up and makes sure the dog knows he's buff. It cracks me up!!! Timmy says to check out his dogster page at www.dogster.com/dogs/317521. He's also a junior reporter for our small local paper, Humboldt Beacon, writing stories on dog care, pet issues and news. So he's probably busier than I am!!!
Timmy got his CGC in 2005, he also got his certification from Delta Society as a therapy dog qualified in complex areas. He's started in agility and this year we are going to try rally obedience by attending some local classes.
Thanks guys...It is hard for me to look at all these beautiful corgis but it helps as well...I wish my parents would come on here but they are too upset. What makes things worse is people at work or church asking how are you>? I just want to run out of the building and hide.
Hey thank you for the idea of letting a balloon go.I think that would make me feel a lot better giving him one more message!Whenever I have more time I will add more photos and videos, I have been so busy lately. Thanks for all the support and for the ideas. I'm tryng everything and each little thing helps more and more.
yea it would! haha. were planning to go to the Corgi Faire in Dixon (if that guy ever emails me back with more detaillss...) maybe well see you guys @ a regional event like that! =)
Thanks! yea.. i guess Bailey didn't want to be a pirate. He was eyeing that bumblebee costume... lol
Sylvia are you & Timmy about to move to the country? Will there be more room for Timmy to play?
I am sure this is a busy time for you if your move is near. Our house & yard are ready for the kids to come for Trick or Treats Friday night. When you live in the country will you have kids @ your door?
Rascal now has a new ramp with carpet for the deck. Plus hubby bought a different vehicle for his rides. A van since the stationwagon was not going to make it thru the winter.
Thinking of you & Timmy & hope all goes well this fall.
Hey Sylvia & Timmy!
Thank you for stopping by to watch our video. Noticing our relationship is something few pick up and that's the really important aspect of Agility. Thank you for your indefatigable support!
Glad you liked your card. :)
We are feeling better - time is a healer, that's for sure. And Andy has done really well.
We hope you have a really great holiday - and don't get too cold!
Hello! I hope things have been good! I just wanted to leave a little note saying Merry Christmas! Timmy looks so happy in the snow! i was hoping that the last set of storms we would get some snow. Oh well we will just have to wait and see!
Hello sylvia and timmy I really like the idea of a park in fortuna for dogs to go to, sounds like a great idea, been to fortuna lots of times in my past, my home town is eureka.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe Bailey's already a year old! There's a dog show in San Francisco this weekend, at the Cow Palace! Too bad Bailey's not allowed, but I hope to find some cool Corgi stuff and see some awesome looking corgis!
It was nice of you guys to watch and comment on Carly's First Run video. Carly certainly does have her own handling style and Monty! is "training" her. Thank God it was a positive experience! Even blowing her 2nd run, she took it like a true sport and asked when the next "try" would be. We're so proud of them both!
Monty! really loves us and always gives his best no matter what the circumstances are. What could be more "Corgi" than that?
Hi, it's us! I saw Timmy's picture on the My Corgi site, but didn't know it was him. I just noticed the Corgi on the redwood log and chuckled. Fun to find out that I KNOW that Corgi!
I never knew Tasha Tudor had another name! You learn something new every day. I have lots of books about her, and none of them mention her former name.
Sylvia & Timmy,
Yeah, I haven't been on in awhile-the tax season ate up all my time! Thank you so much for the information about hyaluronic acid-I am definately going to give that a try! Did you try accupuncture at all? Somehow I don't think Gus would put up with that! Gus is doing o.k.-better now that the winter has passed. We take about a mile long walk every day, but one day last week (it was cold and damp) we just got as far as the end of the driveway and he wouldn't go any further. Poor baby! He is happy and otherwise healthy, though, and enjoys all the corgi things-especially snuggling on the couch! Thanks again for the info-I'm definately going to give it a try. Glad Timmy is doing so well!
With a sad heart I must report our Corgi Rascal passed to the Rainbow Bridge on Monday, June 8. The vet tested to find he was dying of stomach cancer & the tumor had burst.
Rascal will be missed. But he is no longer in any pain. We will always have our memories & our pictures.
For now we are taking 1 day @ a time, but someday you may see we have a new Corgi to share our home & lives.
Sylvia and Timmy,
Yes, that weekend was quite exhausting for all of us. Running in a downpour was certainly a first for us, but he wouldn't have done it if I hadn't stepped to the line undaunted. Thank you for recognizing our bond and it is an honor to be a part of this "corgi" family!
Thank you Sylvia & Timmy for your caring thoughts.
We have now decided to "adopt" a new dog. I found him @ a shelter in Kansas City. Of course, another Corgi! He is about 3 years old. We did not want to be challenged with puppy training since we are away from the house @ work week days. I felt it was too soon but Jerry says he wants to fill the void-why wait. We will be changing his name but do not agree yet! Hope to have pictures & share with everyone on here soon.
Meet Casey! His new name is Casey = from KC, MO. Casey is a Gaelic name that means alert & watchful. He is both! He is a good dog. He gets wild over loud & noisy things=lawnmower, sweeper, motorcycle & is very afraid of thunderstorms. We are learning about him & he is learning about us, his new home & neighborhood.
This Saturday we are planning to go to another local town's celebration parade. His cousin, Hal Hummel is coming to attend his class reunion. Jerry has not seen him in over 10 years so they hope to get together. I thought of you knowing the Hummel brothers when you lived in Ventura.
We did picked the name Casey cause he is from KC, MO but we are spelling it Casey. Funny cause there is a convenient store in the midwest in many smalal towns called Casey's spelled the same way!I
I mentioned to Jerry the CD to play @ thunderstorms, but he does not feel Casey gets that upset. Ha! He does get excited & wants to cuddle next me when he hears the thunder. I was told not to talk "baby talk" to him & try to ignore or downplay the situation. That is fine if the storm is not severe but if there is a tornado coming then I will get excited & stressed also!
Jerry was pleased to get together with his cousins. Hal was celebrating his 50th class reunion. Jerry is 3 years younger. Because it was Hal's class reunion he was very busy seeing & talking to his former classmates. Hal's 2 brothers who live in eastern Iowa were also @ the town celebration. Jerry is closer in age to them & therefore those guys visited more. It was a nice time & good weather. I have visited with Hal's sister many times so it was nice to visit with her again. I met Hal's wife @ their last trip to Iowa. I told Hal & his wife that you had told me you registered his brother Bill @ the last election. Yes it is a small world! Hal reported to us that it is more then 200 miles from Fortuna to San Francsico. Jerry feels that is too far for him to travel to see his cousin while I visit Sandra. I am still hoping my daughter & I can get to SF for a visit with Sandra & tour of the city. Maybe fall of 2010?
I thought you had moved from Fortuna to another small town nearby?
Yessss!!! hes already TWO. i cannot believe it!!!! time sure does fly by. I'll be sure to give him lots of hugs when i get home, and a special hug and kiss from uncle timmy! thanks!
Thanks for the welcome! I posted a few pictures, but none of Harvey, our newest addition. I'll add one of him soon. My trio -- shoving each other aside for space on my feet as i write this -- send greetings from the other coast (we're in Delaware.)
Hi there from the Napa corgis!!Thanx for the new friend acceptance.Couple questions abouth your post-op experience with Timmy. It's been a week and Merlin wants to do everything like before the surgery.I don't think He knows what pain means!!The vet called Us back today after I was concerned about Him doing too much, and He stated again that the only really bad thing foe Him right now, would be to run up some stairs or do a quick herding corner.
What do you feel about recovery times after just going thru this with Timmy?
That's right! we do remmeber that, but for some reason I thought it was another more-recent injury that uncle timmy had. Should've checked the dates of the postings! Sorry about that. Glad to know hes a-ok!!
Thanks! Yes we got all your comments - esp the most recent one about his birthday. Thanks for the birthday wishes!!!!
Hi Sylvia, noticed You haven't been on here in a while?Hope all is ok and maybe Your life has just gotten busy :).Merlin is doing fantastic now after his 2 surgeries.Hope Mr.Timmy is doing well too.Take care..
Have a wonderful time.We did a 2 weeker in those areas the first of the year :).I laughed when I saw You named Your RV.We named Ours The Apt because We felt like We were back in the early days of Our marriage when everything had to be small, like in an RV.
Hi back to You and Timmy.Hope all is well.Love Your neck of the woods, but a little far for a 31/2 day trip.So We found a beautiful park in Gualala,in the redwoods,on the river, but close enough to get to the beach.Plus only an hour trip to the Mendocino Botanical Gardens.Love that place because pups are allowed to wander the 40 acres with Us :).I know You are a fellow Rver,so hope Your hittin the trail once and awhile too!
Glad to hear that Timmy did so well. Ricky will be 2 wks. tomorrow and the stitches are going to be removed. I'm terrified of his needing this down the road in his other leg.

Is there any particular brand you use for the hyaluronic acid? I went on the web-site, and there are some different combinations. Any advice? Thanks!
