The Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Garden State’s Annual Match Show/Obedience & Rally Match is set for Sunday, February 9, at Hunterdon K-9 in Flemington, NJ.

Our club would like to cordially invite one and all with any interest in learning about showing or participating in obedience or rally obedience training with corgis to this event, or just come and watch.

Our club is composed of people dedicated to the Pembroke Welsh Corgi breed. They include owners, handlers, trainers, judges, breeders and rescuers; and their dog related activities run the gamut from agility to working herding dogs. Club members will be on hand and are very willing to try to answer any corgi questions you may have.

The Match Show will feature Pembroke Welsh corgis competing in age groups from 3 months to adult in a warm up event in our show ring. Here owner-handlers and their dogs learn dog show etiquette and hone their skills. Under the critique of judges, they are preparing for the coming season of AKC sanctioned dog shows where corgis can earn points toward championship titles.

In our obedience ring, handlers and dogs will compete and demonstrate the skills necessary to earn titles in the disciplines of obedience and rally obedience.

We will have morning refreshments and are also having a raffle and a great bake sale offered by the busy bakers of Garden State.

We would also like you to consider bringing a donation… of your gently worn old shoes! The shoes are sent to a company which recycles them to people in need. For each box full we send in our club receives a donation.
