I have an older rescue dog probably a mix of lab and pit, he is an absolute darling with us but is a fearful agressive with people. We put him up when we have visitors. He seems to still want to go after LO and just bit my mom when LO was behind her legs. What can we do.

As a trainer, I can tell you that you should consider getting a referral to an animal behaviorist in your area. Fear-aggression is not a training issue. And if handled properly, there can be things you can do to help alleviate your dog's fears. But a behaviorist is definitely the way to go.

It's not uncommon for me to have people ask me to help with their fearful dogs. When I evaluate them and find aggression, I immediately refer them.
Thank you, will look for one in our area.
