How many corgi owners deal with sloppy drinkers?

Does your corgi dribble water all over the floor after drinking out of their water bowl? Is it a normal dog thing, it drives me crazy! Just curious how many other corgi owners go through this too.

All three dogs do that here. Wish they would take a lesson from the cats! We just keep a kitchen towel near the water bowl to wipe up the drips.

Come to think of it, I don't think I have ever known a dog NOT to do that.

Thus the saying "Cats Rule, Dogs Drool." LOL Yes, I think all dogs dribble. I so happy to have a Corgi who only dribbles after drinking. My last dog was a "loose jowl" breed, so he slobbered 24/7 and he didn't dribble...he gushed after drinking, then splashed all the water out of the bowl.

Either way, I keep the water bowl on the back patio. Charlie can drink and dribble all he wants to during our multiple outdoor breaks we take every day. : - )

Ours are all sloppy drinkers. I usually walk by in stocking feet right after someone has had a nice long drink.

Oh yes. She also floods the floor as she drinks as well.

Lol, yep I have a major sloppy drinker. She takes mouthfuls of water and it dribbles down the sides of her mouth, then she walks across the kitchen floor and leaves a river behind. I can't tell you how many times we've slipped on her leftover water!

I bought this pad to put under Oliver's bowl to keep the mess down to a minimum. He still occasionally gets my socks wet, but it is a LOT better!

ever since bunni was a pup, she'd "swim" in her water bowl. she likes to paddle with both arms and drink every once in a while. then she looks up at us triumphantly with a goofy smile, proud of the mess she's made.

My sister had this problem with her Greyhounds for years. She switched over to a more elevated bowl and they stopped. If they walk to the bowl and they can drink without dipping the head then they will learn not to drink sloppily because they hate getting splashed in the face. If you watch a pooch after a hard drinking session from a conventional water bowl, they stop and lift their faces away after splashage. It also helps post-drink chin-drip because they can better estimate where the water is at instead of blindly sticking their heads down there and taking their chins for a dip!

HAHA!!!

I forgot about this part of owning a corgi. Yep-- both my corgis were sloppy drinkers. There would be water EVERYWHERE-- as well as a trail of drops from the water bowl to wherever they decided to plop down and rest. Just have a paper towel handy. :-) Also, Andy used to jump up and down in his water bowl and play in it. He loved to do that. Max never did that, though.
