Clean Up Tools

While shopping at Target recently, I came across something in the dog aisle, that would make clean up time a bit more pleasant, as pleasant as it can be. Winter time is my least favorite time of year for clean up duty, especially come spring after all the snow has melted. Every winter I say I am going to hire a service to do that for me. Well, this year, I came across this neat tool, and I actually am enjoying cleaning up. I put a bag over the scooper as well, since I figured that is the best way to getting it clean in the middle of winter.

Now, that we own two dogs a tool like this comes in handy. It comes with bags and you can buy the refill bags for it, but I have been recycling the plastic bags from the grocery store for this, works just as well.

We haven't had alot of snow this winter so keeping the yard clean has been easier than ever this year.

I haven't tried it yet, but son doesn't like it. He says its hard to get the poop past the plastic bag into the scoop because it catches on the edge and pulls the bag into the scoop also. He also says its too small- maybe because we have 3 dogs? Is there a trick to getting the poop past the front edge of the bag?

There is a hole at the top and the back of the container, you push the bag into those slots and it secures the bag. I didn't know that when I first used it and it was a windy day and well..yep you guessed it....fun :O Once the bag is secure it should be much easier for your son.

I do agree that it is on the small side for even 2 dogs, but what I do to solve that problem is to bring out another plastic grocery bag and when it gets full dump it in the bag and you can do that as many times as you need to. :)

I also use the plastic grocery bags to line the contraption with as well instead of buying the refill bags. Another trick I do, is to wrap the scooper with plastic wrap so that it stays clean, helpful in the winter months when there is no access to rinsing it off. Hope this advice helps.
