Has anyone participated on CDSP trials? I went to a 4 hour workshop today and found it interesting. It is obedience, but the trials are much more laid back than AKC. You can praise and treat your dog.

Becca was the only beginner dog there. All the others had titles, so it was a little intimidating. She did well though. We did all the heeling exercises on leash instead of off. Becca was the only dog there with a send out "Get in the hole". We still use a mat, but she was perfect, even turning square to face me before sitting.

There is a class starting in Saco in a few weeks for CDSP obedience. It is about an hour each way. I'm not sure I want that long of a drive each way. It won't be long before snow starts. I'm a total wimp the past few years driving in it. It does seem to be the best fit for Becca though. There is a trial in Saco in November, at Finish Forward Dogs.
