Hi all,

I did a very dumb thing and adopted a wonderful dog a year before I knew I was going to be moving my life across the country. He's a special dog that has some extreme peculiarities and I just don't think it would be wise to take him with me. But enough about me, let me tell you about him.

His name is Percy, and he's going to be 3 in July. He's a beautiful sable corgi, neutered, micro-chipped, around 25 lbs, but he's extremely shy and scared of everything. For the first year of his life he was on a farm and it was really hard for him I guess. He was then taken to the vet where they made him better physically, and one of the people working at the vet took him home for another year. She then got too busy to take care of him, so I took him. So, he's had a pretty rough life being transported from place to place and one parent to another.

He is house trained, but because he's so scared of everything he has a LOT of accidents when I take him to a new place. I won't lie. I took him to my parent's house during a school break and he just went in the house all the time, no matter how much I walked him or let him out. I believe it's just his nerves, because once we came back home he was fine again.

He's up to date on all his shots, and won't be due for them again until December. He's also currently on heartworm and flea medication.

He's a really really laid back dog. He doesn't fetch, doesn't frisbee, nothing like that. I tried to teach him but he never seemed interested so I did not pursue it so much. He loves the dog park though, and likes to herd the other dogs there which is pretty funny.

Other than that though he's a normal corgi. He's not too barky, he likes to lie down with you, he sheds A LOT. Furminator cannot contain the Percy. He's pretty good with other dogs, but I think he's best suited to be with either only one other dog, or by himself. He's good with kids, but can get scared of them.

What I'm looking for in the person that wants to take him:

I am NOT looking for a student to take Percy. I want him to have a potential forever home with someone that is financially okay to take on either their first corgi or add to their family of other dogs and not going to have to give him up after a year like I am. I feel like such a terrible person having to give him up, and I don't want him to have to keep going through families like this. It's probably the reason why he's so scared of everything!

Please let me know if you need any more info on him. I have pictures of him on my profile, he's really cute and a great dog!
