Hello everyone! I've recently moved into an apartment about 2-3 months ago and my 6 month old female corgi puppy, Gravity, is still not potty trained. I feel bad since all her siblings are but Gravity isn't. She poops and pees outside wonderfully and immediately but inside, she sometimes pees. She is crate trained.

Has anyone every successfully potty train their corgi in an apartment? Preferably without pee pads? What was your method? I can't exactly catch her in the act and immediately take her outside to finish her business since I live on the 5th floor, haha! Do I just clap and say NO! very firmly when she does but then what?

Thanks guys!

Take her outside every two hours, or every hour if need be to increase the chances that she poops or pees outside.  Buy a dog training clicker, then click AS she does it-- a clicker is like a snapshot of the behavior you want.  Supply a treat as soon as you click.  She'll be trained in no time.  Make sure that the treat is high-quality and something she doesn't usually get--and it should be small--a 1/3" piece of chopped chicken or beef is great for each time she does it.  You can also train her to sit or stay using this method which will give her the idea.  It's best to start off clicker training by making sure she is holding your gaze.  Look at Dylan.  When he was a pup, I used the clicker method every time he looked me in the eyes.  That is what creates the real connection between you and your dog.  The eyes are the windows to the soul and to the tummy.
