We once encountered two dogs in the backcountry who'd run off. We were able to promptly reunite them with their owners because the phone # was on the collar.

I agree. Speaking from my experience (moving & traveling a lot), you don't have to change the tag every time. If you are visiting your friends & family out of town, you know you can be reached asap too. If you have microchip in your dog, it's a good idea to use your cell phone as contact number as well. :)
Great Idea! I will do that, I need to redo Lances tag, thanks for the idea!
I'll do that! Thanks for the info.
I put both on Levi and KC's but we changed our home number so I am glad the cell is on there. I haven't got the chance to get them chipped yet and now I am going to wait for Taz and do them all at once.
We've also put the tag that has our dog's microchip ID# on her collar. I've heard that some places don't automatically scan lost animals for microchips. We put our cell#'s on Kitsie's name tag along with our address.
