I would avoid these two rescues. I had adoptions fall through that made no sense, but heartbreak for certain. A Rescue Me out of Wyoming went to a friend of the foster woman that hadn't even put in an application when meanwhile. "I was the number one, and first, approved applicant." She had me send pictures of my house, etc. Her excuse for not giving me the dog was that I had my Pyrenees on a leash when I took the picture. I told her when I sent the picture that I had to do so as my dog didn't want her picture taken. The dog went to a friend of hers to be used in her business as a trainer. The story changed and changed. A dog out of Kansas was approved for me to adopt, and they would meet me half way on the drive, but then they mentioned that maybe the owners were on vacation (it was Labor Day weekend). I emailed asking if they should have her checked for a microchip and how long had the dog been lost? It didn't sound like long at all. I sure didn't want to prematurely adopt a lost dog. I never heard from them again. Two ARFF rescue mixed puppies fell through as well. Apparently I should not have asked what the other mix was! Either that or they didn't want to have to drive 30 miles one way to check my house out. All in all, I can see why so many dogs get put down in shelters. Dealing with rescues is one big hassle. They tell you/promise one thing and do another. To me it encourages people to wait for a puppy over the heartache of adoption and plain weirdness. It seemed that if I asked responsible, obvious questions, that dropped me from consideration.

Rescue Me? As in rescueme.org? If that is the case, then each rescue me ad is posted by an individual :) Even if that individual belongs to a rescue.. So don't knock the whole thing haha.

Not all rescues are unorganized and unprofessional like that, but some are and you have to remember that a lot of rescues are run out of pocket of a lot of normal people, who have to use their income for those dogs on top of their other bills, and run on donations.. :)

I'm not saying that it's okay to just ditch people off, but maybe things get a little overwhelming for some of the lesser experienced rescuers out there!

Also, if you are looking still, please join my Facebook group, Craigslist Corgis! I posted quite a few purebreds from all over the country today!
