Vectra 3D

Has anyone heard anything about Vectra 3D? My vet wants me to try it and was looking for anyone who has heard about using it. It is "fast-acting protection against fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, lice, mites and sand flies". Just wondered of anyone has tried it yet. Bucher can't handle advantics or frontline so I amy worried about this too.

I would be extremely reluctant to try anything on my dog that doesn't have a long, proven track record. I've done some reading about tick/flea insecticides and was surprised at some of the horror stories I was reading (like, man successfully sues XXX Inc. -- acting as his own lawyer -- after his dog promptly dies after using XXX's product as directed).
You're not in a hurry (well, unless you're in a high-Lyme area). Do your homework. Prowl the web. Corporations will sell us anything they can get away with (they do have a long, proven track record on that).
The EPA is currently doing a review of pet pesticide products; there have been lots of complaints and some tragedies.
Also recognize that's it's difficult to prove that something is dangerous if the damage is small, slow, or intermittent, and it's nearly impossible to prove that something is really safe
