My family and I moved here about five months ago. Since then, we have been trying to expand our family with a Pembroke Corgi. We have regularly visited the three area animal shelters and missed one by a couple of days. I have contacted a couple of in-state breeders, but respectfully do not understand the price they are asking (~$1,200) for their puppies. I don't want to buy from a pet store, as I believe a number of their dogs come from out of state puppy mills. Lastly, I regularly check PetFinder.Com. I appreciate your constructive advice or leads as I continue looking.

Thanks Debbie. I downloaded a PWCCP application to fill out. I'm in Virginia Beach and will Google Palmetto for more information. I appreciate knowing that there is another way to find a family-friendly corgi.
You could do a google for your state on Corgi rescue or surrounding states. Sometimes they can work out traveling arrangements. Just be patient and don't rush..nothing worse then getting a Corgi that doesn't meet your expectations or isn't healthy. Good luck to you.
Good news! This weekend we drove up to Maryland and adopted "Malibou" into our home. She is a real cutie and is settling in well. Thanks to Potomac Rescue for the lead.
