Hi everyone,
Just curious if anyone else has read this book yet? I find it interesting but I am also finding some gaping plot points.
Would love to discuss.
Thanks.

I'm listening to this on CD. I'm on disc 25 of 29. Needless to say, my library privileges have been suspended until I return this mega-tome. I listen while driving, so my criteria for judgment are different than in a print book. So far it's covered about a thousand years, so I would expect some holes. Still, Amy is a problem. I thought that maybe she was first found just as another lost soul with no connection to the world, so no one would miss her. They just wanted a child like that. Her special qualities were just found accidentally. But what made her special? She wasn't ever infected before her capture, was she? And she was special before that. Just ask the zoo animals. For her to cover all this time, with all this mystery, she damn well better be a savior of some kind.
I keep hoping this will be explained, but as they near the end, I can't really imagine that there will be enough time left to fill out the story completely.
I really like post-apocalyptic stories. A Canticle for Liebowitz is an all-time favorite of mine. And scientific explanations for stories like vampires are always appealing as well. So here's hoping disc 29 leaves me happy.
Hi Julie,
What a beautiful dog you have first of all!
The Passage: Okay, one thing to remember about this book is that it is a triology so the end of it does not answer all the questions that you will be left with. I am hoping the second book will do that but I am doubtful. I am even comtemplating whether I will invest my time in the second book - curiosity will have to motivate me.
I have started another triology with The Strain and The Fall - I read the second one first. Also a vampire series with mean vampires but much more satisfying than The Passage.
It has been a while since I read it so when you finish it, let me know and we can then discuss the book. :-)
Take care and have a great holiday season.
Patty
I confess I forgot all about this thread. Sorry I took so long to respond.
First, I didn't realize "The Passage" was meant to be a trilogy. Starting a second book would indeed be a big commitment. Do you know the name of it? Have you started it?
I've read "The Strain", but again, I forgot to follow up on on it's sequel. So "The Fall" is now on my library list. Since I've read the first, and you've read the second, there's not much we can discuss here, is there? :)
Let me know if you read either of these. I'll do the same.
Julia
